Wired has allegedly found elusive Bitcoin creator “Satoshi Nakamoto” in Australia…and less than 24 hours later he’s being raided by the Australian Federal Police. Sadly, given the attempts by the MSM and governments around the world to link the P2P economy to terror, mayhem and criminality, this is hardly surprising. Join me in today’s thought for the day as we explore the demonisation of P2P and why the powers that shouldn’t be are afraid of freedom…terrible freedom!

The most disturbing part of this (to me) is that Tyler Durdan lends credibility to the attack as being inline with the lamestream narrative, which has way too many very large holes in it. He is just a man, but whoa, really???
I reluctantly watched Obama’s speech addressing the nation the other night. The agenda regarding “measures” that need to be taken, is clear. When the POTUS says “we need to ensure that those that are not able to get on an airplane, shouldn’t be able to buy a gun” It alludes to the new rules rolling out in Jan 2016 regarding the incremental use of the real ID act.http://www.dhs.gov/real-id-public-faqs No person will be able to board a domestic flight without having the secure ID that has been implemented. Basically, if you don’t get the microchip, you cannot fly or buy a gun.
Then we have the “going after financing” narrative. This is partially addressed in this story, and very well done. I would assert that these two measures will be ultimately linked together through information transfer technology embedded in these IDs and Passports. If you cannot fly, you cannot buy (anything). It really is, as you point out, a control of every aspect of every person’s life. Just a reminder that Revelation 13:18 and a few other scriptures describe this identification that without which, no man might buy or sell.
The HIT clause in the Affordable Healthcare Act of 2010 also provides the use of this same technology as compliant. No chip, no healthcare.
And, as you have mentioned multiple times, the censorship of the internet from a legislative position is a goal. You want access to the internet? Then provide authentic identification.
I have discovered that since I began my research in 2009, many of the data that I have archived, has been disappearing from the internet via search engines, powered by, or enhanced by Google. James, you gave some great advice in an article I read awhile ago. You advised people to back up all evidences and information onto cds and external memory devices.I saw the wisdom then and now it is more apparently necessary.
Do you know of any search engine alternatives to Google or startpage (which is a mirror of Google now)? Now that Google has become the Truth Ministry for the powers that shouldn’t be. I tried to Google “alternative search engines,” but funny, the only results are engines powered or enhanced by Google. weird, huh?
Agreed that it’s very disappointing to see ZeroHedge in line w/ the narrative that (something along the lines of) “freedom leads to chaos”.
The CIA / US govt gave us the internet, Google, and Facebook. Did US intelligence agencies create the cryptocurrency concept to set up a useful construct, a digital currency meme to later morph into an example of a bad actor to justify new controls?
Richard Grove of Tragedy and Hope has speculated that Bitcoin was likely a psy op citing a history of US intelligence working on cryptocurrency. FWIW, I found a reference to an NSA Information Security Research article on cryptocurrency from 1996, published in the American Law Review and an MIT mailing list, apparently fitting the Bitcoin concept outline like a glove.
At the end of the day, if P2P takes place on a small scale (barter my zucchini for your apples) TPTB can ignore these under the radar exchanges as long as they can track and monitor all the other stuff we do. Seems as though, more than any other issues, we have to resist the tracking and attacks on free speech and open communication.
I’m still a Luddite when it comes to bitcoin and anarchy. The way I see it is, if you have a real P2P economy you don’t need money. If my intentional community has 300,000 gal/acre (www.duckweedusa.com) of biofuel to ‘sell’ I’d want to put it on a market and use it to ‘buy’ stuff the ashram needs (like a volocopter http://www.e-volo.com ). “Commodity 2 commodities” as it were. Maybe what we need is an open source P2P commodities & services exchange platform. Probably similar to community credit currency Ellen Brown http://www.ellenbrown.com talks about, only operating globally. “Cash” would be denominated in calories (KWh), since money is energy, and cheap abundant energy is what makes modern life possible. Since most transactions would only involve multiple-party exchanges of goods and services, cash would seldom be necessary. Namaste! If you provide services your ‘paycheck’ would be a portfolio of commodities of your choosing, some of which you might actually want delivered. Keeping liquid assets, like biofuel, in the ‘bank’ to easily exchange later for desired goods and services. Or just use it to buy gold, etc.
The more decentralized the better, thus countless permutations to include a state issued currency is great only so long as the system is bottom up, rather than top down controlled, absolute transparency, and no cartels. Anything is possible if essentially all information becomes open source and an awake and highly informed populace is fully engaged. P2P liberates if it reflects and enhances a robust enlightenment process. Otherwise, as a wise soul said “One man’s commune can became another man’s work camp.” This is important to understand in light of the endgame being planned out for us which is a global energy credit based system tightly rationed and monitored by TPTB. Call it communitarianism meets technocracy, it is being seductively crafted to look much like something we might voluntarily create, but only on the surface. If enough of us can discern the curve balls then we have a chance to be free and autonomous collaborating out of care and respect for each other and the environment.
BTW, love the Duckweed USA synfuel systems. That type of innovative technology could become a game changing asset if it were to catch on before the iron gates come crashing down. I’m looking forward to Corbett’s upcoming podcast. The suppression of biofuels has been egregious. Whoa!

(And, also a too much sophisticated piece of networking software to have been done by a single person… Where did this “Sakamoto” character made his beta tests, then? His home network?)
The way that the Internet is immensely surveilled, nowadays (don’t look too much for information concerning the P*OMIS software – http://www.fromthewilderness.com/free/pandora/052401_promis.html – or something bad – http://www.elmundo.es/encuentros/invitados/2010/05/4217/index.html – might happen to you), there’s no way that such a complex piece of software, that operates over the Internet, could have been developed without the powers-that-be already knowing, by now, who has created it.
So, this new piece of news will surely turn out to be just more “smoke”, to hide the true origins of this phenomenon.
Look at how quickly some of the big corporations (who constitute the real powers-that-be) adopted this currency (http://www.bitcoinvalues.net/who-accepts-bitcoins-payment-companies-stores-take-bitcoins.html). If this was really something contrary to the interests of the establishment, they would never adopt it – let alone so quickly, and in a way that promotes its growth.
And, all this paranoia about Bitcoin being used for crimes, is just (like you’ve said) that – paranoia. That is going to be used as a pretext to increase the surveillance and control of the Internet.
This “Bitcoin” phenomenon is the concretization of what Alex Jones and others have been warning, for almost two decades now… The so-called “Cashless Society Control Grid”.
And, explaining what I mean by this…
1) First of all, this so-called “cryptocurrency” is not cryptographic, at all. Since that, the NSA and the likes (who created its hash algorithm) can already decrypt it (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZQXxUmROIU#t=1h8m25s).
2) Second, it’s the end of privacy in monetary transactions. Since that, every transaction is publicly recorded. And, all that it takes to identify which transaction corresponds to which deal, is to read the corresponding e-mail exchanges between the persons involved in such a deal. 3) Third, you are almost totally dependent on an Internet connection to be able to make such transactions. And, who controls the Internet? Big Brother. That is: the main/big corporations, that constitute the real powers-that-be, and their puppet-governments.
The future that the powers-that-be have planned, will be a Police State where *everything* – including the Internet – will be controlled. And, the future will also obviously be one where artificial intelligence will be advanced enough to be able to inspect every Internet traffic, and intercept/block whichever type it (specifically) wants. Do you know what “WWW” stands for, in intelligence circles? R: “World Wide Wiretap”.
So, if you’re an individual who’s fighting the powers-that-be, either (1) because of an oppressive government, that passes laws where it forbids certain people to use the Internet (what’s already being done in certain countries, is to require an ID to use this network), or (2) because the big Internet companies that dominate the market (and that you are forced to use) simply decide that they don’t want to let you use their services anymore, you are always dependent on the “good will” of other entities to be able to make monetary transactions.
And all this, not counting with all the “dirty tricks” that can be used against you – like simply interfering with your monetary transactions, when they’re passing through the Big Brother network, and then have your Internet company respond to you that it must have been some “glitch”, or that they simply don’t know where your money went. Also, in the era of spyware and software insecurity, in a lot of proprietary computer operating systems and programs, that most people use (and, where we even have to be careful with the hardware that we use – https://trisquel.info/en/forum/secret-3g-intel-chip-gives-snoops-backdoor-pc-access), to have a “digital wallet”, on a computer hard drive, is the most ridiculously and laughably insecure manner of storing your money that I have ever heard of! (And, all that it takes to make you loose all your savings, is to simply demagnetize your hard drive – which can be done from a distance.)
Please, (seriously) inform yourselves about Internet and computer security, in order to realize what (/the trap that) you’re really getting yourselves into.

In order to create and conceive something like “Bitcoin”, there has to be a deep knowledge of computer networking software, and also of Economics – and, I immensely doubt that there’s a single person on this planet that could have both.
(When was the last time that you’ve met a computer “geek” that also had a degree in Economics?)
Therefore, I would much more easily believe this to be the work of a large group of highly intelligent and knowledgeable people, from different areas.
Relating peer-to-peer lending to terrorism is incredible. I must have been funding terrorism for years by contributing to micro-loans on crowd-funding site http://www.kiva.org. All those African farmers pretending to need $250 to buy non-GMO seeds to set up a farming enterprise outside of the stranglehold of big business and local loan sharks – while all the while…
As always, I greatly appreciate the perspectives provided. However, I disagree with the disparaging of Zero Hedge, they are in fact one of my favorite sites. I find most articles to be well reasoned and insightful. The comments are the best EVER, little troll traffic, and most definitely not main stream thinking when it comes to monetary matters.
The main theses seems to be “how FUBAR our planetary monetary system is”, and differing opinions on how to survive the impending meltdown. These opinions seem to be offered by experienced banksters, brokers and traders, and what they collectively see coming ain’t pretty!
All in all, it is sad and depressing stuff, but always good for a chuckle, if not a rotflmao moment. laughter beats crying every time. All things should be taken with a grain of salt.
