This book is mostly a bio of butler but does cover the plot.. he was a very interesting person who served as a police chief for a while too, but was too honest to be retained.
I have also read “The Plot to Seize The White House” by Jules Archer, published in 1973, and I recommend it. I think this book exposes the Method of Operation (MO) used by the International Corporate elites better than just about anything that I have read.
The way that they used middlemen to talk with Gen. Butler so that they could maintain plausible deniability was classic CIA before there was even an OSS. None the less, Butler played along with the Conspirators, so that he could find out who was behind it, then reported the Coup to FDR who simply made a Deal with these dastardly Bastards.
Smedley Butler was only about 5′-6″ tall, yet he commanded a great deal of respect from nearly all who served under him because he was literately in the trenches with them.
Indeed, it was only after he retired that he came to grips with how he had been used, and thus unwittingly led others to be used. During the 1930’s and right up to his death in 1940 he became the most well known anti War activist of his day (and the most dangerous from the War Profiteer’s prospective). After all, what worthless Chicken Hawk is going to argue with to most Decorated Man to ever Serve in the United States Military?
He died just shy of 59 in the Philadelphia Naval Hospital on June 21, 1940. Do I think they killed him? What me, do I look like some kind of Conspiracy nut? Let’s just say that it would have been very difficult to lead Americans into WWII while he was around.

On a related topic, I have been comparing the time frame of the Business Plot, thwarted by Butler, to other events happening in the world at that time. Could the Business Plot Conspiracy be considered part of the rise of WWII Germany? Can you see a connection to a wider plan(plot) that really involved world domination? After all, the US conspirators were part of the same group that helped Hitler’s rise. If they had succeeded, we could have seen North America dominated by a Nazi affiliate. Smedley was far more of a hero in his post military career than any of his decorations would indicate.
Maybe the same US group that funded the bolshiviks overthrowing the democratic 1st revolution in Russia (this guy USED to be getting interviewed all over Ytube, now not so much, but you can buy his books https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTfYV1SnqgI History professor Dr Richard B Spence)
He says that the Russian rev was a big resource grab, which would explain how the Koch bro’s dad was making money in commie Russia when he realized how bloodthirsty the reds were.

Any way my question is, given the existence of Natural Law and constitutions based upon it, do you think a voluntary, anarchist society could exist under a constitutional agreement?
The head of the “state” (which wouldn’t exist) replaced with the “rule of Natural Law?
Meaning all free men and women agree to live under the Rule of Natural Law (do no harm) and are free to convene courts of Natural Law when community members transgress (cause harm.)
Do you think this is feasible or does it contravene anarchist principles by imposing a system of rule?
Listening to “War is a Racket” raised a new question.
The books explains how so many companies and banks get HUGE profits.
Those of the banks are kept secret.
My question is:
where does the war profit really come from?
The soldiers and people are used as slaves using propaganda,
but this does not seem to reflect the immense profit.
I think I am missing a factor of 10.
It might be nice to have some clear overview of the budgets.
It seems to me that the biggest profit comes illegal trade
– stealing resources and properties.
– smuggling
– arming both sides
– banks lending money to both sides
– enforcing huge debts and loans
– artificial scarcity
– selling “scarce” resources for huge prices
– tax evasion
– taking out the competition (with bombs sometimes)
– creation of huge monopolies

My mpression:
The US wanted Iraq to pay to rebuild the infrastructure.
China came with a better deal, so the US killed the opposition.
Most of the profits come from the future generations, that is what is so clever about the War Racket.
Future generations are paying tax to pay back loans for money that did not exist in the first place.
Nice thing about being in an Anarchist world – don’t have to pay back other people’s criminal grandparents.

I love this new, shorter format.
It hones in on specifics and is easy to reference.
I also want to mention that Corbett is very good about giving the backstory and fundamentals.
This lets almost any audience gain an understanding.
On MLK Day, I was talking to a bunch of folks who are in their twenties about MLK and Bobby Kennedy being assassinated in ’68.
Their eyes glazed over. It was too foreign to them.
These are just names in a textbook.
Even the 9/11 event is “not of their world”.
It made me realize that many people need more of a backstory.
His name reminds me of the Johnny Cash song, “A Boy Named Sue,†maybe what made him a bad-ass. Not many dots connecting him to what’s in charge now. Prescott Bush was a major player in the coup Gen. Butler exposed. The same man who put Dick Nixon in Congress, and fathered and grandfathered Godzilla, the Joker, ect.

Thanks, nice link. This family is so bad, I don’t know where to start. Their history is the criminal history of 20th century — they’ve got it all, from nazis, coups, and false flags to war-hawk draft dodgers and drunk driving murderers and that’s just scratching the surface!
