Who Is ISIS? – An open source investigation

The hysteria over the supposed threat posed by the Islamic State (IS) is now undeniable. Every day new stories emerge focusing on the group’s brutality, its resources, its capabilities and its intention to strike out at the West. The US Defense Secretary, Secretary of State, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and ranking Senators have all delivered somber assessments of the group’s evil aims in recent weeks, and have they been joined in that effort by a host of counterparts in foreign nations. The mainstream media, for their part, report these pronouncements without question, and with only a bare minimum of context to help their audience understand the group.
An open source investigation is desperately needed to sort through the hype to determine the facts behind this shadowy terror group. In this article we will examine the background, current status and future aims of the group, as well as the numerous facts that have been carefully omitted from the officially-sanctioned narrative of the group. In the comments section below, Corbett Report members are encouraged to contribute links, analysis and questions to further expand our understanding of the current situation and whether we are in fact heading toward a new false flag provocation like the September 11 attacks. Background – History of ISIS
The Islamic State is a caliphate established by a jihadist Islamic group in June 2014. Their expressed goal is to establish Salafist government over the Levant region of Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, Cyprus and Southern Turkey. The group’s leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, has been declared caliph and “leader for Muslims everywhere.”
The Islamic State has gone through numerous name changes since its founding in Iraq in 1999. originally known as JamÄÊ»at al-Tawḥīd wa-al-JihÄd (JTJ), (“The Organization of Monotheism and Jihad”), it changed to Tanẓīm QÄÊ»idat al-JihÄd fÄ« BilÄd al-RÄfidayn (“The Organization of Jihad’s Base in the Country of the Two Rivers”) in 2004 after the group swore allegiance to Osama Bin Laden. During this period it was popularly known as Al Qaeda in Iraq (AQI). In 2006 it became the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI), but changed again in 2013 after expanding into Syria. At that point it became Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) or Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS). Its latest moniker, the “Islamic State,” came about after the proclamation of a new caliphate on June 29, 2014.
The group was founded by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi in 1999. Zarqawi, a Sunni militant from Jordan, enjoyed a remarkable career that involved numerous imprisonments, escapes, evacuations, deaths and resurrections. Meeting Osama Bin Laden in Afghanistan at the tail end of the Soviet-Afghan war, Zarqawi was imprisoned in Jordan for six years for attempting to overthrow the Jordanian government. Released in 1999, he made his way to Afghanistan where he ran a militant training camp before making his way to Iraq, allegedly via Iran. During his time in Iraq, he was killed in a bombing raid in April of 2003; miraculously resurrected to be arrested in Fallujah in 2004; re-arrested in Baakuba in January of 2005; evacuated from Iraq in May of 2005; killed in fighting in June of 2005; and once again resurrected to be killed once again (presumably for good) in 2006. But before he was killed off, the Washington Post reported that “internal military documents” proved that the Pentagon was engaged in a propaganda campaign to specifically play up the role of Zarqawi and AQI in Iraq, even quoting an internal briefing document produced by US military headquarters in Iraq revealing that US military chief spokesman Brig. Gen. Mark Kimmitt believed “The Zarqawi PSYOP program is the most successful information campaign to date.” Subsequent reporting revealed that as part of that program, the Pentagon had ‘leaked’ a letter purported to be written by Zarqawi that was dutifully covered by the New York Times even though there were serious questions about whether the letter was real at all.
The group was taken over by Abu Omar al-Badhdadi (Hamid Dawud Mohamed Khalil al Zawi, also known as Abu Abdullah al-Rashid al-Baghdadi and Abu Hamza al-Baghdadi). Baghdadi, exactly like Zarqawi before him, enjoyed an interesting career of imprisonments, deaths and resurrections, as well as questions as to his very existence. He was reported as captured on March 9, 2007, but that claim was retracted on March 10. In May 2007 the Iraqi Interior Ministry reported he had been killed, but the very next month the US military proclaimed he had never existed, citing information from a detainee who said that recordings of Baghdadi were actually recordings of an Iraqi actor hired to put a local face to what was in fact a foreign-run terror campaign, a claim subsequently echoed by Hamas-Iraq. However Baghdadi was reported as arrested on April 23, 2009, a claim that was denied by ISI the next month. The group continued to release recordings of Baghdadi throughout 2009 and 2010 that were authenticated by the (highly suspect) SITE Institute. He was reported as killed once again in April 2010 after a rocket attack on the home he was hiding.
The group was then taken over by Ibrahim ibn Awwad ibn Ibrahim ibn Ali ibn Muhammad al-Badri al-Samarrai, better known by his nom de guerre, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. This Baghdadi, too, has an uncertain background constructed from conflicting reports. Alleged to have been born in Samarra, Iraq, in 1971, an unverifiable internet biography claims he attained a PhD in Islamic studies at the Islamic University of Baghdad, and unidentified reports suggest he may have been a cleric at a mosque in Samarra during the American invasion in 2003. He was then captured and held as a civilian detainee by US Forces-Iraq at Camp Bucca before being granted an unconditional release on a recommendation from the Combined Review and Release Board. The Defense Department officially proclaims he was detained from February to December 2004, but Army Col. Kenneth King, the former commander of Camp Bucca, insists he was at the camp until 2009, when he was turned over to the Iraqi justice system after the camp’s closure. He was announced as leader of the ISI in May 2010 and reported captured in December 2012, a claim that was immediately denied. He oversaw the expansion of the group into Syria in 2013 and was rumoured to have been killed in June 2014, but a rare video of him delivering a sermon at a mosque in Mosul appeared less than 24 hours later to quash the rumor. He was proclaimed Caliph Ibrahim and leader of all Muslims upon the establishment of the Islamic State caliphate on June 29, 2014.
The New Face of the War on Terror
The group sprang to the attention of those in the West this year when the group launched an incursion into Iraq that saw them repel the Iraqi army and capture Mosul, Iraq’s second largest city, as well as parts of Salahuddin and Ninevheh Provinces, and the cities of Fallujah and Tikrit. According to reports, the group seized as much as $429 million dollars from Mosul’s central bank after taking over the city. With anywhere from 4,000 to 80,000 fighters, the group possesses convoys of identical Toyota trucks, and an arsenal most countries in the region would be envious of, including Stinger missiles, anti-aircraft guns, anti-tank weapons, Blackhawk helicopters and cargo planes, and even a Scud missile. The group also allegedly gained possession of nuclear materials from Mosul University, but the IAEA believes the material is not of sufficient quality to be dangerous in nuclear terrorism.
A stream of increasingly hysterical reports about the group and its supposed existential threat to the region and the world in general has included a joint press conference by US Secretary of Defense Hagel and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair General Dempsey in which they laid out ISIS’ “End-of-Days” vision and stressed that the group is “beyond anything that we’ve seen.” Senator James Inhofe has joined the fray, insisting that the group is working on plans to “blow up” an American city, and numerous outlets have now suggested that city may be Chicago. The hysteria increased with the release of the (now admittedly fake) beheading video of American journalist James Foley and the similarly suspicious video of American-Israeli journalist Steven Sotloff.
In August, President Obama ordered airstrikes over northern Iraq to combat the ISIS threat, warning Americans that the bombing would be a “long-term project.” The airstrikes have been endorsed by Pope Francis, and after Secretary of State Kerry announced that a “worldwide coalition” would be required to defeat the Islamic State, the US has since declared the formation of just such a “core coalition” which includes NATO powers such as the UK.
Alternative Accounts
The group and its leaders have been shrouded in myth and mystery since its inception, as documented above. Even the US government has declared that the Islamic State’s second leader, Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, never existed. The current leader, Abu-Bakr al-Baghdadi, is so elusive that there are only two known photographs and one video recording of him in existence, leading security “experts” to declare: “They know physically who this guy is, but his backstory is just myth.” This has led many to speculate on the group’s possible founding and backing by Western intelligence as a front for foreign policy goals such as the sectarian division of Iraq or as an excuse to keep the west militarily involved in the region. As far back as 2006 the UK Telegraph reported that prominent Sunni insurgent leaders in Iraq were claiming that the group’s founder, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, was “”an American, Israeli and Iranian agent who is trying to keep our country unstable so that the Sunnis will keep facing occupation.” This sentiment is echoed to the present day, with Saudi scholar Consultative Assembly member Dr. Aissa Al-Ghaith claiming that the Islamic State is backed by America, Israel and Iran. This sentiment is bolstered by the revelation earlier this year that ISIS fighters were trained by the US military at a camp in Jordan in 2012.
There are many questions surrounding the group’s online PR activities and its unlikely facility with various forms of media, a phenomenon that even the New York Times has noted. Although much has been made of the rounds of photos claiming to show the group’s brutal execution and treatment of its prisoners, at least some of these photos appear to have been recycled from other countries at other times. There is still no answer as to who staged the beheading video of James Foley or why it was faked, but many point to the fact that British authorities warned that merely looking at the video might qualify as terrorism as a sign of the video’s true nature and origins. This continues a tradition of suspicious ISIS media releases dating back to the recordings of Abu Omar al-Baghdadi that were released during the 2009-2010 period after the US government had declared him a fictitious character and Iraqi authorities reported that he was under arrest.
An image of US Senator John McCain in Syria in April 2013 has generated controversy for claims that it pictures him with ISIS member Mohammad Nour and even ISIS leader Baghdadi himself. Some have cast doubt on whether the man in the photograph is Baghdadi, but the man does bear an uncanny resemblance to the official picture of Baghdadi on the State Department “Rewards for Justice” website.

Allow me to get the ball rolling. I’m looking specifically to expand our understanding of Western intelligence links to ISIS and its members. I’d be grateful for whatever hard links you guys can dig up on this subject.
StormCloudsGathering did a pretty good summation of the rise of ISIS:

Looks like there are some good links in here, especially the essay on the zionist plan for the middle east back in the ’80’s.

The goddess Isis was a necrophiliac, incestuous child abuser. Fitting.

We talked about Bill Cooper’s covering of 2001 Space Odyssey in the Open Thread forum, he covers Isis and Osiris a bit in this episode, but there is also a two part series dedicated to Isis and Osiris (didn’t watched yet but there must be some good stuff, remember Cooper predicted 9/11 and named Bin Laden as the boogeyman): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmCHUS3nRmw
I found these articles helpful; they might point to useful sources:

It would seem that when we cut lose the entire Iraqi army in 2003 we not only made lots of enemies, but we freed up lots of time for well-trained military minds to begin to plot their revenge. Funny how that happens…

“Western governments are sending millions of pounds of aid to areas held by the radical Islamic group Isis in northern Syria”
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/syria-conflict-how-millions-of-pounds-of-western-aid-destined-for-the-needy-is-falling-into-hands-of-isis-9610491.html
Strange that the west will bomb civilian infrastructure back to the stone age in countries like Iraq etc and block aid into those countries to “diminish support for the unfriendly dictator”
but they will allow millions of dollars/ pounds of fuel, food and supplies to be directly distributed by ISIS (IS whoever they are now) to boost their public relations.
odd. don’t you think.

James, I think this is a joke but there were other viewers who seemed to take it seriously.
http://www.brasschecktv.com/videos/the-war-on-terror-is-a-fraud-1/introducing-us-made-terrorist-boogymen-20.html
It is commentary on the history you’ve written above which I read while shaking my head, thinking of that newscaster who after 9/11 announced that one (or two?) Arab hijacker passports had been found in the rubble… and commented, “You’d have to work to make this stuff up!”
My take from what I’ve read and seen so far, and off the cuff, is that this is just a bunch of BS. The PTB have now run out of interesting things to run past us with. After you pull off so many jokes and phony terrorist attacks, and manage skillfully or not so skillfully to blame it on the other guy (as in Putin and MH17) do you think that maybe the people who are conning us no longer take themselves seriously and are also trying to see how far they can stretch this thing? That’s my take: When the real thing happens, it will be done with no fanfare.
Here is a documentary I watched the other night on ISIS by Vice Films? Don’t know who they are but they seemed to want to paint a fairly sympathetic picture of this group.

“British authorities warned that even looking at the video might qualify as terrorism…” Isn’t that a little over the top? There’s too much hysteria and hullabaloo around this.

SITE Intelligence Group Released Beheading Video Before ISIS – See more at: http://govtslaves.info/site-intelligence-group-released-beheading-video-isis/#more-36110
Thanks for the tip. I believe this is the same SITE that was found to be uploading videos with their watermark in the same video layer as the Al Qaeda watermark back in the day, but didn’t get to it. I will update the article with more on SITE and their history.
EDIT: My mistake. That scandal involved IntelCenter, a separate group:
http://www.wired.com/2007/08/researchers-ana/
James, not that this means much at this point, but I imagine you’ve seen this group I.S.I.S. (Integrated Systems Improvement Services, Inc. – Providing International Security and Intelligence Services). I suspect the name is just coincidence but highly interesting.
https://public.isishq.com/public/SitePages/Home.aspx
I also just came across this piece wherein Kerry says the fight against ISIS could last 3 years:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleeast/iraq/11078812/Three-year-battle-to-degrade-and-destroy-Isil.html
Also, it notes that Iran has agreed to help against the fight. James, can you comment on what the sort of motivations Iran has in helping the same powers fight against ISIS, the same powers that threatened to destabilize (and still do) its country? Is this merely an agreement of convenience, or do they have no choice? I can’t seem to synthesize Iran’s about face on this. Highly “wild card”-like.
Iran has more to fear in the immediate short term and for historical/cultural reasons from the pack of rabid Salafists setting up a Sunni caliphate on their doorstep (one seeking to kill all Shia infidels) than they do the machinations of the US at this point.
And yet, here’s Kissinger on NPR (National Pentagon Radio) talking about ISIS and IRAN.
http://www.npr.org/2014/09/06/346114326/henry-kissingers-thoughts-on-the-islamic-state-ukraine-and-world-order?sc=tw
However, he believes that Iran is a bigger threat than ISIS.
“I consider Iran a bigger problem than ISIS. ISIS is a group of adventurers with a very aggressive ideology. But they have to conquer more and more territory before they can became a strategic, permanent reality. I think a conflict with ISIS — important as it is — is more manageable than a confrontation with Iran.”
For ISIS:
“They have cut the throat of an American on television. This is an insult to the United States, which requires that we demonstrate that this is not an act that is free. I would strongly favor a strong attack on ISIS for a period that is related to the murder of the American.”
“Then, we have to go into the long-range problem. I think when we are dealing with a unit like ISIS, we should not get into a position where they can lead us by establishing ground forces. But we should set strategic objectives where we thwart any goal they set themselves, which we should be able to do by superior air power. And then, if we can enlist other countries, or other more local groups to do the ground fighting, we might actually destroy them.”
This idea of creating “local groups to do some of the ground fighting” was also espoused by former CIA analyst Gary Berntsen on a Breitbart interview, wherein his “solution†to stop “ISIS†is to create the functional equivalent to the “French Foreign Legion†or the “Filipino Scouts†– a “surrogate force†comprised of Arabs lead by American military officers. He then says “We are going to be in the Middle East and fighting for a long time†and “prepare for the long struggle.â€
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPP_kK6Ym9E#t=355
So what should we make of Iran’s involvement in this whole ISIS stew?
My post is not related to any info on who trained ISIL but rather the reason ISIL was created. I believe this is pivotal for people to understand in order to answer the question of WHO created ISIL.
The Overton window is a political theory that describes the range of ideas the public will accept as a narrow “window”. According to the theory, an idea’s political viability depends mainly on whether it falls within that window rather than on politicians’ individual preferences.
At any given moment, the “window” includes a range of policies considered politically acceptable in the current climate of public opinion, which a politician can recommend without being considered too extreme to gain or keep public office.
Overton described a spectrum from “more free” to “less free” with regard to government intervention, oriented vertically on an axis. As the spectrum moves or expands, an idea at a given location may become more or less politically acceptable. His degrees of acceptance of public ideas are roughly:
–> Unthinkable
–> Radical
–> Acceptable
–> Sensible
–> Popular
–> Policy
————————————————————–
So before ISIL and the associated MSM creation of EXTREME-EXTREMISM (or Extreme 2.0) the US Government and UK Government were trying to get approval to arm Syrian Rebels who are now called MODERATES. Before ISIL people were calling them basically Al’Qaeda and western public support was totally lacking. Westminster had a vote for a weapons appropriations bill to arm the so called ‘Free Syrian Army’ and it was summarily voted down (by a rather slim margin I would add). This caused the US Congress to Red-Light a similar appropriations bill.
So the US was without an international partner to hold its hand, as the UK is always the the first ‘coalition of the willing’ partner to hold Americas hand. (Pilgrims Society etc…)
I think this development was less than a month before the Social Media Campaign known as ISIS (or the artist formerly known as ISIL 🙂 was created in order to extend the Overton Window of Public Opinion for the acceptability of arming ‘Moderate’ Syrian Rebels. Also to change the political dynamic in Baghdad to include more Sunni representatives in order to make Iraq a safe investment vehicle for the Arabia Sheiks. The old Iraqi government was also courting Russian Oil&Gas investment in southern Iraq and USUK and the Sheiks didn’t like that for obvious reasons.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=zubW3IifrtQ
Obama just revealed in the most recent Meet The (Controlled) Press interview that this is EXACTLY what he is going to do … arm the ‘Moderates’ in Syria, and also support Sunni Saudi, UAE and Turkey to militarily intervene in Syria and Iraq to entrench Sunni western backed power groups to create a ‘better balance’. This will now be OK because the Overtons Window has been expanded due to the creation of EXTREME 2.0. Syrian Rebels and even the alCIAda elements within them are now ‘Moderates’.
QUESTION: Why is taking down Assad so important for the US & UK?
ANSWER: Natural Gas Pipeline Corridor that Syria stands in the way of!!!
QUESTION: Why does Putin support Assad?
ANSWER: Because Syria controls the vital land route necessary to build Gas Pipelines from Sunni UAE & Arabian Gas Fields up to Sunni Turkey where it can then meet the Baku Pipelines and run through the balkans into the European Energy Market … DISPLACING Gazprom, and separating the EU from Russia first economically and then geo-politically.
QUESTION: Why do this if Baku Gas is already flowing through Azeri-Georgia-Turkey-EU?
ANSWER: Because Baku Gas volume is only 30% of what is needed to completely strangle Gazprom market share in the EU Energy Market and the Saudis and UAE(Heavily linked to UK finance) will also only maintain their support for the Petro-Dollar System if the US and UK can get their Gas piped directly into the EU … all of this is impossible unless Syria is carved up and/or politically Sunnified. Direct Gas pipelines also eliminate the need of UAE and Saudi liquification of gas and expensive ship transport that needs to also pay tolls at the Suez Canal, thus Egypt is removed from the equation (Great news for Saudi Arabia who always preferred the Muslim Brotherhood).
City of London requires USD dominance to keep its financial systems afloat. US needs City of London to keep Finance Dominance. US + UK require Petro-Dollar system to maintain NWO dominance. Putin is anti Dollar. Saudis need market access. All pretty simple stuff under the sheets. WWIII is sure to come soon as Putin will not allow Russian economic collapse.
nancytime – Further to the question of SITE’s “leak” of the Sotloff video, I found this story interesting:
Meet the Israeli analyst who leaked ISIS’ execution videos
http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4567871,00.html
James, what do you make of the tweet from a purported ISIS member which allegedly shows a photo of someone who appears to be Steven Sotloff manning a gun on a car?
http://www.redflagnews.com/headlines/photo-tweet-claims-to-show-american-journalist-steven-sotloff-fighting-with-syrian-mercenaries
And we know his Israeli credentials and connections, so what do we make of this guy? Was he purportedly working with the Syrian mercs until his capture by ISIS? The story seems to be that he was hiding the fact that he was Jewish from his ISIS captors.
http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4567005,00.html
Was he a saboteur/provocateur? Was he a double/triple agent? Or was he truly just a journalist or was that merely his intelligence legend?
1. We have Aaron Klein of World Net Daily, who claimed that:
“JERUSALEM – Syrian rebels who would later join the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIS, were trained in 2012 by U.S. instructors working at a secret base in Jordan, according to informed Jordanian officials.
The officials said dozens of future ISIS members were trained at the time as part of covert aid to the insurgents targeting the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Syria. The officials said the training was not meant to be used for any future campaign in Iraq.
The Jordanian officials said all ISIS members who received U.S. training to fight in Syria were first vetted for any links to extremist groups like al-Qaida.
In February 2012, WND was first to report the U.S., Turkey and Jordan were running a training base for the Syrian rebels in the Jordanian town of Safawi in the country’s northern desert region.â€
http://www.wnd.com/2014/06/officials-u-s-trained-isis-at-secret-base-in-jordan/
2. It’s been revealed that both MI6 and the CIA were fully aware of ISIS’ movements in advance, but failed and neglected to inform the Iraqi government.
“The head of intelligence for the autonomous Kurdish regional government, which has links with the West, said he had repeatedly tried to send warnings both to the central government in Baghdad and to its allies, Britain and America.
But despite repeated attempts to impress on Washington and London the seriousness of the unfolding situation, he said there was no response from either government.â€
While this will no doubt be spun by the CIA backed media as a case of “blowback,†it’s got all the fingerprints of a covert operation that they knew of, and did nothing to stop.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleeast/iraq/10918853/Britain-and-US-neglected-alert-to-Iraq-jihadist-takeover.html
3. In yet more bizarre news, back in 2007, a captured Al-Qaeda figure, claimed that al Baghdadi was a myth.
“A senior operative for al Qaeda in Iraq who was caught this month has told his U.S. military interrogators a prominent al Qaeda-led group is just a front and its leader fictitious, a military spokesman said on Wednesday.
Brigadier-General Kevin Bergner told a news conference that Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, leader of the self-styled Islamic State of Iraq, which was purportedly set up last year, did not exist.â€
“In his words, the Islamic State of Iraq is a front organization that masks the foreign influence and leadership within al Qaeda in Iraq in an attempt to put an Iraqi face on the leadership of al Qaeda in Iraq,” Bergner said.†(And we know al-Qaeda is a CIA front
“Bergner said Mashadani served as an intermediary between the al Qaeda in Iraq leader, Egyptian Abu Ayyab al-Masri and bin Laden and also the Egyptian cleric Ayman al-Zawahri, who is the global network’s No. 2 commander.â€
“To further this myth, Masri created a fictional head of the Islamic State of Iraq known as Abu Omar al-Baghdadi,” he said.â€
“To make al-Baghdadi appear credible, al-Masri swore allegiance to al-Baghdadi and pledged to obey him, which is essentially pledging allegiance to himself since he knew Baghdadi was fictitious and a creation of his own,” he said.â€
“The rank and file Iraqis in AQI believe they are following the Iraqi al-Baghdadi. But all the while they have been following the orders of the Egyptian Abu Ayyab al-Masri.”
“Voice recordings purporting to be from Baghdadi have appeared on the Internet, although Bergner said he had been played by an actor. He did not refer to any video clips.â€
“Bergner said Mashadani was al Qaeda’s “media emir” for Iraq.â€
http://www.reuters.com/article/2007/07/18/us-iraq-qaeda-idUSL1820065720070718?rpc=92
4. When referring to “Al Baghdadiâ€, an article from “Mother Jones†had the following headline: “Was Iraq’s Top Terrorist Radicalized at a US-Run Prison?â€
http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2014/07/was-camp-bucca-pressure-cooker-extremism
Although this reinforces the “blowback†narrative of the accidental version of history and current events, I believe there is a semblance of truth to be gained from this. As we know, Baghdadi was a prisoner in Bucca. Much like Guantanamo, prisoners in these facilities are not just released without good reason. Consider the many prisoners in Guantanamo who are held without any charges and those even cleared of charges. It’s patently clear there may be some other reasons. The fact that this character Baghdadi was released from Bucca and Bucca itself was shut down is suggestive of something more sinister at work.
I strongly suspect Bucca was shut down to release all the prisoners, including Baghdadi, who. If he is real, likely entered into some sorts of agreements with his captors, or who likely was a double/triple agent from the onset. In other words, the closure of Bucca and Baghdadi’s release all coalesced into the perfect cover, whereby he was released and lost in a crowd of fanatics and dupes. This way, he was able to infiltrate and dominate in a sea of radicals after having been thoroughly trained on his “legend.â€
5. There’s also the video of Nabil Na’eem, purportedly a former al-Qaeda official and operative, claims that all the current Islamists (Al Qaeda, ISIS, etc.) are all CIA assets:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEuJ5v3AbJg
6. Recently, amidst the chaos in Ukraine and the bitter struggle “the West†(whatever is meant by this mythical entity) is engaged in against Russia’s backed partisans, “ISIS†declared a threat against Putin: “IS militants vow to ‘de-throne’ Putin over Syria support.†Given all we know, this is probably some sort of implicit confirmation of ISIS’ CIA/NATO/Mossad/Saudi (call it whatever you want) slant, by threatening Putin and vowing to “free†the North Caucasus (read Chechnya, from which many of these Islamist terrorists hail). Does this mean the CIA’s “Arab Legion†is now going to be turned increasingly toward Russia?
http://news.yahoo.com/militants-vow-throne-putin-over-syria-support-225140129.html
Thanks for the rundown, AoC. You’ll notice that points 1, 3, and 4 are all in the article, but 2, 5 and 6 are new.
Excuse the overlook, I read the article late in the night and may have overlooked some of the points already mentioned.
However, for a more comical spin, please see McCain’s ranting about ISIS and what may be a Freudian slip? Make of it what you will, but it made me chuckle.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPSOhICt7qg
At the 1:22 mark: “Hillary Clinton has described already the meeting in the White House over two years ago. Everyone in the national security team recommended arming ISIS.â€
He did not even pause to correct it.
No hard links on individuals, but I read this article on ISIS footsoldiers, who are mainly young radicalized western Muslims. Many of them became disillusioned by fighting other Muslim factions instead of fighting oppressors. But they feel unable to return home because they are threatened with jail sentences, so they have no other choice but to keep fighting.
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/syria-crisis-british-jihadists-becoming-disillusioned-at-fighting-rival-rebels-and-not-assad-regime-9713279.html
Here I notice a distinct pattern. When all these boys were leaving to fight Assad in Syria, there was nobody stopping them. Some politicians and media mouthpieces even praised them for ‘fighting for democracy and against oppression’, still dwelling on the ‘Arab Spring’ narrative. Nobody stopped the Saudi-sponsored Salafi imams from brainwashing the western Muslim youth with Jihad propaganda. The west was openly supporting and arming the ‘non-radical’ groups in Syria.
Now that the ISIS army numbers in the thousands the image is shifted. A repatriated jihadi kills 3 people in the Jewish museum in Brussels and of course he is caught days later with an ISIS flag wrapped around his machine gun. Fake beheading video’s appear in the MSM (even though there are many real video’s of decapitations in Syria). All of a sudden politicians are tough on jihadism and threaten returning jihadist with lifetime jail sentences or worse. In Holland the youth protection agency (a bunch of pedophiles) took the children of a Muslim family because members of the family were supposedly thinking (!) about joining the Jihad.
So, it looks like these jihadist were lured into a trap. They were brainwashed, allowed to join foreign armed groups, they were equipped and trained, send into combat and finally the trap is closed by making it impossible for them to repent and return home. These poor bastards are meant to die in the desert and if they don’t they can be used for further incitement and agitprop in their respective homelands.
This makes me think that ISIS is just created as a temporary distraction and a motive to arm other factions in the region, like the Kurds. Also ISIS seems to be used for religious cleansing of the region, driving Christian and Shiite minorities out and destroying their cultural heritage as they go along. This could be instrumental in creating a ‘Clash of Civilizations’ type scenario. Most likely the ISIS Caliphate is not going to be a long term player in the region, but is purely used to set things in motion for the next steps in the game.
I hear you, Bart, but I think the western jihadis meme is being pushed a little too hard. “Hundreds” of Americans, “hundreds” of Brits, “hundreds” of Canadians, “hundreds” of Australians, but no one knows how many. It is propaganda that’s being used to justify intervention. But I should add some links to the article.
Agreed, the narrative that ISIS is formed by ideologically inspired western Muslims is of course false, but even though I’m sure a lot of it is staged, I think it’s not too hard to brainwash disgruntled European Muslims either. I don’t want to post any graphic video’s, but if you search for it you’ll find many examples of Allahu-Akbar-shouting, European speaking men fighting and dying in Syria and Iraq.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1ZwvUVPrxY
This report was broadcasted on Dutch TV. A former Dutch army officer is now supposedly training jihadists in Syria, while eating M&M’s and speaking to his relatives on a Apple laptop. Although this report is obviously fake, I believe some fall for the jihadist propaganda and are used as mind-controlled cannon fodder in this fake war.
Here’s another context for the western jihadis meme. Knowing TPTB’s modus operandi, we can surmise that after the deal to destroy Syria’s chemical weapons was made, the plans for the Franken-terror cells being groomed in Syria went into a higher gear with the primary goals of (1) amping up the fatigued global war on terror (GWOT) with a bigger and badder version of Al Qaeda; (2) creating tools to destabilize middle east targets such as the desired division of Iraq in line with the larger agenda for regionalization; and (3) using the situation of an international collection of jihadis, including westerners, as a pretext for a metastasizing GWOT that, of course, will rationalize the rise of domestic police states, bloated military budgets, and the eventual formation of a global police / military authority.
In the links below we see the meme of professionally trained jihadis returning to western nations to launch terror attacks being propagated by the establishment, including US Director of National Intelligence James Clapper (back in early February).

In this article they say more than 2000 in Syria, among which 700 are French according to the French Ministry of Interior (including their wives and children, in June): https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=fr&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=fr&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Ftempsreel.nouvelobs.com%2Fmonde%2F20140602.OBS9184%2Fmedhi-nemmouche-quel-role-a-joue-l-etat-islamique-en-irak-et-au-levant.html&edit-text=&act=url
James. As I posted above about the Overton Window it is the US, UK, Canada and Australia that would be part of a ‘coalition of the willing’ (like Saddam) publicly acknowledged arms running program necessary to entrench Turk-Arabian Sunni groups in the Pipeline Corridor.
Thus it makes sense that part of the Fear-Porn propaganda campaign in these Anglophile countries would involve a saturation of the meme that EXTREME 2.0 is a threat to the ‘Homelands’ so that ‘arming moderates’ will be palatable to the English speaking muppets who’s support (or silence) is necessary to get heavy arms into the hands of Turk-Arabian approved Sunnis in Syria and Iraq. I am an Australian and our media has saturated us here with the constant phrase “More extreme than Al’Qaeda” … it is constant, and the point being repeatedly expressed is that this is a ” threat to the homeland”. This is manufacturing consent for a heavy arms running program to make Turkey and Arabian Sheiks look like the Anglosphere’s only hope (even though the Arabian Sheiks are the most un-democratic despots and last people we should be arming with our Tax$s)
After the Westminster vote to disallow the arming of ‘moderates’ against Assad the topic of Syria instantly fell off the MSM feed, and Iraq became the focus almost overnight. It was as if the CFR and Chatham House directed the MSM to divert attention away from Assad in order to create a cover story that would then later spill over into Syria and allow a later second push (back door) attack against Assad with a legitimized cover story; EXTREME 2.0.

Are these social network sites engaging in internet censorship or trying to prevent videos from being analysed to try and verify their authenticity?
I’ve not watched any of the videos but in the stills of the recent ISIS alleged beheadings the victims are wearing orange suits/outfits. Is this usual? Is it a reference to Guantanamo Bay?
I feel totally lost and bewildered by all the info on the net about this. The disorientation seems to be working.
I fully sympathize. It is absolutely meant to be bewildering. I hope my forthcoming podcast will shine a little light on the subject.
ISIS in Syria played a serious role that everybody neglects. While The Syrian army was fighting against the Muslim Brotherhood terrorists (AKA FSA) and their Wahhabi enemies (Alnusra). ISIS came and started fighting them as well. This happened while the Muslim Brotherhood forces were being crushed by Wahhabi all around the region, especially in Libya, Egypt, Tunisia, and when the MB was challenged in Turkey by an Otpor-style color revolution. Why was ISIS founded? I believe because both MB and the Wahhabi are supported by the Islamic finance billionaires.
(background: see what the CFR says about Islamic banking: http://www.cfr.org/economics/rise-islamic-finance/p32305)
So, ISIS was a tool to crush the MB and Wahhabi forces in Syria and Iraq. Obviously the Saudis are not happy, They wanted to take control of Syria (like they did with Egypt and Libya.) They felt that ISIS is a real threat to them, so all the gulf countries instituted new anti-terrorism laws. This confirms (to me) that ISIS and the Wahhabi are not the same, in fact ISIS is another enemy to the Wahhabi and their MB enemies.
The Wahhabis are funding Alnusra, not ISIS. I believe ISIS is funded directly by US Tax payers and private enterprises. ISIS has top level intel, possibly directly from NSA, and ISIS has access to all CIA and Mossad resources in the region, including pseudo-journalists like the actors in their recent videos.
To me, ISIS looks just like a US Government contractor.
I believe the best source for detailed and specific information about ISIS and the Jihad mercenaries is Abdoullah Ali (https://twitter.com/abdoullahalisy). He writes for Assafir newspaper in Lebanon.
Thanks for the comment, Al Saleh. I understand what you’re saying, but why then did Zawahiri order Al-Nusra to stop attacking ISIS in May? Clearly there is coordination/cooperation between the groups.
http://www.aawsat.net/2014/05/article55331936
because at the moment AQ is losing its appeal, they have fought in many years and havent really gained anything, they only had “hit and run” tactics. They are still fighting IS in some areas in syria, and some other areas like in the border to Lebanon they have truce with the Nusra chiefs in that area and are actually helping each other like when they got in to lebanon together.
The reason for the dissagreement between AQ and IS is because of juridicial differences, like how to establish the Caliphate and so on.
Another important reason for their infighting in syria is because IS was helping Jahbat Al-Nusra to get established in Syria when IS also moved there, but then Al-nusra started to work with FSA and the “moderate groups” and IS didnt like that, and in sharia law, that is prohibited, you cant ally with someone who gets funding from outside like turkey saudi arabia qatar and the states.
But AQ have taken the backstage in this whole scenario, they dont look succesfull anymore and they are losing much support among muslims, thats why they try new things out, like back a couple of months ago Jahbat al-nusra declared and Islamic Emirate, but quickly retracted it because it made muslims confused. Also a couple of days ago. AQ announced it started a wing in the Indian subcontinet in retaliation for the growing support to the Islamic State, so they want to counter that.
Zawahiri did not order his men to stop fighting. His men defected.
Here is my view of the situation in Syria in recent months.
Alnusra was losing on the ground after 2 years of fighting against FSA and SAA. ISIS is stronger and was able to carry out a stunt in Iraq. So some local war lords in Syria thought that ISIS is the future and sided with it. The first mission by they received from ISIS is to destroy the remaining Nusra war lords in east Syria. They proved their loyalty to their new master, so they got another mission, take the few remaining locations under SAA control in Raqqa, they lost thousands of fighters, and SAA cleared the location. ISIS would be happy who ever wins because these new recruits are long time enemies and might change sides at any time, so ISIS wants them destroyed.
The Wahhabis created new armies of mercenaries after Nusra was obvious to fail, They recruited two war lords, Zahran Alloush and Jamal Maarouf, both of them are public ISIS enemies, Keep an eye on both of them.
Zawahiri is facing the destiny of Saddam and Mubarak. This is what happens to everybody who thinks he can ally with the empire. If we live a little longer, we will see the house of Saud facing the same destiny. Eventually, The terrorists will rule this area and destroy everything in it.
As James has said these Sunni groups are totally in cahoots and all are created (seeded) and backed by Arabian petro-dollars and US weapons.
They are trying to manufacture the idea in public opinion that the Turk-Arabian Sunni ‘moderate’ groups are the rightful heirs to stability in the Gas Pipeline corridor, and the only way to do this was to create EXTREME 2.0 (ISIS) and to portray these people as the enemies of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, UAE and Turkey. This will allow the Sunni Sheiks to get control of Iraq and Syria politically using the ‘Elimination of EXTREME 2.0’ as the cover story.
Take for instance the following scenario comparison;
SCENARIO 1:
Before Sept 11, 2011: US needed to regain control over Petro-Dollar System as Saddam was trading Oil for Euros, Syria was resisting Central Bank penetration and also resisting Arabian efforts to link up Gas Pipelines with Turkey for the EU Market to cut out Gazprom. Afghanistan was required for the Opium (Heroin) to keep Hard Cash Foreign Exchange collections up for NATO black ops and economic Jackal activity used to control so called ‘democracies’ and political demographics requirements for AngloAmerican commercial occupation needs (washed cash for political bribes). Iraq and Afghanistan also would be an ideal Left-Right squeeze on Iran to keep them contained.
PROBLEM: AlCIAda pops up and hits the Twin Towers and Pentagon.
REACTION: Public (MSM) screams for military intervention (Overtons Window expanded)
SOLUTION: ‘Coalition of the Willing’ able to sidestep UN protocols and avoid public opinion backlashes using ‘terrorism’ and immediate threat to the Homeland as a pretext. Public initially applauds the actions of their leaders.
SCENARIO 2:
PRESENT: US and UK losing Arabian support for Petro-Dollar enforcement. US+UK NEED to neutralize Putin’s Gas Card in the EU as he is anti-Dollar and trying to challenge NYC-London finance dominance(USD dominance). EU business oligarchs are warming to Russian economic relations. Too much Shia control in Iraq for Saudi Sheik pipeline investment. Current Iraq Govt with Shia influence is courting Gazprom in Southern Iraq. Syria stands in the way of the Gas Pipelines necessary as Assad is backed by Putin. Turkey can make big $’s for doing nothing but allowing pipelines from Arabia on its territory but Syria stands in the way. Western populace will not back the arming of ANY Islamic fighters of ANY creed. Heavy arms needed in Syria because Assad has latest weapons and Tanks from Russia, Rebels cannot dislodge him with small arms.
PROBLEM: Extreme 2.0 Islamic Death Cult pops up that is made to look like it is even an enemy for the Wahabi//Salafi, and that even threatens the King of Saudi Arabia himself (shock and awe). They even threaten to attack Western countries again. [I bet ‘they’ attack the Kaaba during the Hajj this October]
REACTION: Public Western Countries support the supply of arms to ‘Moderates’ who can now safely be called ‘moderates’ because they are NOT the EXTREME 2.0.
SOLUTION: Western Politicians sleep better at night thinking their seats are not in any danger at the next election because the Homeland was threatened … actually the media applauds their ‘decisiveness’ and elevates them to hero status for acting to ‘protect the homeland’. Which is a 180 degree contradistinction from what the public reaction would be without EXTREME 2.0 having been created out of thin air. People will now applaud that their Tax$s were spent in this way (Military Industrial Complex also gets more sale$, GDP gets a boost), and Arabian Sheiks look like a force for stability and moderation in the region.
Assad will be ‘collateral damage’ … They will say: ‘oh look, Assad was attacked with those weapons after the fact, but he was a monster anyway, so at least the ‘Moderates’ are now in control’
Turk-Arabian-EU Gas Pipelines will go in quicker than it took Gadaffis body to cool while the Libyan Central Bank was being announced and the Libyan Gold Reserves were being shipped out of the country never to be seen again (but still on the IMF Ledger stated as Libyan Central Bank Gold, as long as the Libyan regime tows the line of NATO that is)
The various Sunni Islamic ‘groups’ are NOT fighting with each other. This is part of the manufactured propaganda to expand the Overtons Window creating a spectrum of Islam from Peaceful->-Moderate->-Radical->-EXTREME 2.0 (ISIS).
ISIS is the required bogey man. A complete fabrication and media stunt, a potemkin village of political paradigms. All their videos are fake because they themselves are fake. Did they kill people? sure, but the footage and media campaign was what was important, which is why I find it so funny that Obama keeps commenting that their social media campaign is so good; yeah, his PR team at the White House is advising them, they are a subsidiary 😛
Who would know after EXTREME 2.0 is ‘subdued’ that these nutcases are not then fighting with the Free Syrian Army against Assad with nice new weapons? Todays ISIS fighter is tomorrows FSA, because yesterday the ISIS fighter was in fact an ISIS fighter. Selfies and Twitter accounts is the only difference.
All part of manufacturing Western Public Opinion.
As Saudi Arabia, UAE and Turkey ‘vanquish’ the ISIS and setup a new multipolar Sunni Petro-Caliphate, Obama will claim that Islamic State (the erstwhile Caliphate) has been vanquished … ie, Irony! Bad is Good, Hot is Cold, Left is Right … go shopping!
CORRECTION TO: “Todays ISIS fighter is tomorrows FSA, because yesterday the ISIS fighter was in fact an ISIS fighter.”
Should read;
“Todays ISIS fighter is tomorrows FSA, because yesterday the ISIS fighter was in fact an FSA fighter.”
Here ya go. British Bill Clinton explains the whole thing.
http://youtu.be/S4EvcanVj2o
The picture at the bottom is not Baghdadi, its from 2013 and it is members of FSA and the militant group Asifat al-Shamal Brigade at the Bab al-Salameh border crossing. This event took place by John McCain to show support for the military council and the moderate fighters, and not IS.
Also, the claim about the beheading videos are fake, it is only to downplay the propaganda made by IS, the claim that it doesnt show the beheading is because it is for a wider audience and hence the blackening.
Thanks for the input. I realize there is some debate as to whether the man in the background is Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi (Ibrahim al-Badri):
http://www.voltairenet.org/article185085.html
or Abu Youssef:
http://www.syriareport.net/mccain-visited-kidnappers-in-syria/
But every source that I can find identifies this man:
http://syriareport.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/screenshot4.jpg
as “Muahmmad Noor” (or “Nour”), a photographer for the Northern Storm kidnappers:
http://www.dailystar.com.lb/News/Middle-East/2013/May-30/218852-mccain-crosses-paths-with-rebel-kidnapper.ashx#axzz2Ujmw4ghe
If you have any other identification of those two men I’d be interested to see any links.
I don’t know if this detail is relevant, or important, but I am trying to make sense of where this fits. Maybe it’s nothing at all.
In the July 5, 2014 tweet ( https://twitter.com/malasqalani/status/485462338276188160 ) wherein the “caliph” was “taking questions” after his “sermon,” many made note of Mr. “Baghdadi’s” expensive wrist watch (very un-Islamic, if you will). The Telegraph ( http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleeast/iraq/10949449/Abu-Bakr-al-Baghdadi-ridiculed-for-flashy-wristwatch.html ) noted:
“[T]he self-anointed ‘Caliph Ibrahim’ … brought a touch of branding into the bloody conflict, with many who have seen the 20-minute sermon commenting on his bulky and expensive wristwatch. His choice of accessory, which is believed to be either a Rolex, Sekonda or £3,500 Omega seamaster, has been highlighted as jarring with the content of his controversial speech … The watch bore an obvious resemblance to models designed by a number of famous watchmakers, including the £3,490 Omega seamaster Aqua Terra and a much cheaper Sekonda time piece.”

This website ( http://www.politifact.com/punditfact/statements/2014/aug/19/blog-posting/edward-snowden-leaked-nsa-documents-show-us-israel/ ) makes a interesting argument and attempt to discredit the “Western” funding and support of ISIS (of course it is a website that advances the establishment narrative so take it with a grain of salt), and even manages to debunk the specious claim that was going around that supposedly Snowjob’s NSA documents proved that al-Baghdadi was trained by Israel.

Our favorite CFR groupie Fareed Zakaria seems to acknowledge there is no such thing as a “moderate opposition” in relation to this whole ISIS brouhaha.

WaPo seems to be acknowledging the “Free Syrian Army” simply became ISIS and this is all confirming everything we have always suspected and said:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/posteverything/wp/2014/08/18/the-terrorists-fighting-us-now-we-just-finished-training-them/
“Abu Saleh, who is originally from a town close to Benghazi, said he and a group of other Libyans received training and support in their country from French, British, and American military and intelligence personnel — before they joined the Al Nusra Front or the Islamic State. Western and Arab military sources interviewed for this article, confirmed Abu Saleh’s account that “training†and “equipment†were given to rebels in Libya during the fight against the Gadhafi regime.”
“Abu Saleh left Libya in 2012 for Turkey and then crossed into Syria. “First I fought under what people call the ‘Free Syrian Army’ but then switched to Al Nusra. And I have already decided I will join the Islamic State when my wounds are healed,†the 28-year-old said from a hospital in Turkey, where he is receiving medical treatment. He had been injured during a battle with the Syrian Army, he said, and was brought to Turkey with false documents. “Some of the Syrian people who they trained have joined the Islamic State and others jabhat al Nusra,†he said, smiling. He added, “Sometimes I joke around and say that I am a fighter made by America.â€
For a long time, Western and Arab states supported the Free Syrian Army not only with training but also with weapons and other materiel. The Islamic State commander, Abu Yusaf, added that members of the Free Syrian Army who had received training — from the United States, Turkey and Arab military officers at an American base in Southern Turkey — have now joined the Islamic State. “Now many of the FSA people who the West has trained are actually joining us,†he said, smiling.”
I think this may put to rest the whole “funding the moderates is okay” argument. As we know of McCain’s famous meeting in Syria with the Islamists, he met Idris and also the man in the beard. In the photo where they are all sitting in a circle, McCain can be seen talking with the bearded fellow who is purportedly al-Badri (suspected to be Al-Baghdadi, and also known as Abu Du’a: http://news.siteintelgroup.com/blog/index.php/entry/226-the-story-behind-abu-bakr-al-baghdadi ). This character can also be seen in the other stand up photo where al-Badri (or Baghdadi or Nour) is seen in the back with his black beard). He was subsequently branded on the “wanted list” (http://www.rewardsforjustice.net/english/most-wanted/all-regions.html). Why was McCain never questioned about this?
As would be expected, McCain defended arming the “moderates” and this was seen in a rant against a journalist on Fox News:
“On “Fox & Friends,” Kilmeade told McCain — who has been a constant advocate for U.S. intervention in Syria — that he had concerns over the Syrian rebels’ alleged “ties to extremists.” Kilmeade played a clip of an explosion on government-held territory in Syria, after which a rebel shouts, “Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar!”
“I have a problem helping those people screaming that after a hit,†Kilmeade said.
McCain, clearly annoyed, shot back immediately at Kilmeade.
“Would you have a problem with an American person saying, ‘Thank God! Thank God!?'” McCain said.
“That’s what they’re saying. Come on! Of course they’re Muslims. But they’re moderates, and I guarantee you they are moderates. I know them and I’ve been with them. For someone to say, ‘Allahu Akbar’ is about as offensive as someone saying, ‘Thank God.'”
Here’s the clip of McCain’s appearance on Fox (the relevant part starts around the 3:00 mark):

I would argue the writing was on the wall, and this was all crafted carefully as part of a Gladio-B type of operation in the Middle East to continue destabilization of the region to create failed states, mini-states, warlordism, etc. as part of the grand US-NATO-Israeli scorched earth policy. It’s hard to imagine that all the game-theory/decision-theory CIA analysts could not have accounted for this “unintended consequence” or “blowback” narrative – which is how this will be sold and pushed.
The ISIS/Caucus/Chechnya link is the most interesting angle for me because of the tie-ins with what we assume are current US geopol ambitions:

GREENE: Hahn told us that Omar al-Shishani grew up a shepherd boy, encountering rebel fighters as they passed through the Pankisi Gorge.
GORDAN HAHN: He eventually joined the Georgian Army and became an expert in various weaponry and was trained under the U.S. train and equip program to prepare Georgian military for counterinsurgency operations and counterterrorist tactics. And then in 2010, he was diagnosed with tuberculosis, kicked out of the Army. Eventually he got arrested for illegally storing weapons and was sentenced to three years in prison. And right after prison, he pledged to leave Georgia and go fight jihad.
GREENE: I just want to make sure I understand what you just said. This is a man – the number two in ISIS now – who was in the Georgian army and receiving anti-terrorism training from the United States?
HAHN: That’s exactly right (laughter).

James, to what degree do you suppose that the next false flag will not be something the scale of a 9/11, but something akin to “death by a thousand cuts,†such as small scale attacks? It seems to be what former CIA Deputy Director Mike Morrell hints at with ISIS.
http://therightscoop.com/former-cia-deputy-director-i-would-not-be-surprised-if-isis-member-showed-up-in-a-mall-with-ak47/
He wouldn’t be surprised if ISIS unleashed attacks at American malls using AK-47s. Of course, he also mentions 9/11 type of threat in the long-run. As far as small scale operations, I imagine that would be more “bang for the buck†from a black ops point of view – have various small bands of these rogue Islamists all simultaneously strike small scale attacks across various places in the U.S., which may not be on the scale of 9/11, but would certainly “shock the conscience,†put fear into the populace again, and of course, be used as a pretext for a whole swath of domestic and international policies.
It seems ISIS has all of the same enemies as the West and Israel. It also seems the 1982 Oded Yinon plan is continuing to take shape and ISIS is helping make it happen.
“Greater Israelâ€: The Zionist Plan for the Middle East | The Infamous “Oded Yinon Plan”. Introduction by Michel Chossudovsky http://www.globalresearch.ca/greater-israel-the-zionist-plan-for-the-middle-east/5324815
Yinon’s plan is certainly prescient as anyone who looks in the Middle East can see what has become of Syria and Iraq. However, I think it would serve us well not to lose sight of the global landscape. While it is valid, I think it must be considered as part of a larger contextual paradigm. I would also add the British-Zionist Orientalist Bernard Lewis, who described the “Lebanonization” of the Middle East (if you recall the fragmentation of religious/ethnic divisions in Lebanon during the civil war there). All things considered, I think it’s safe to assume that what you have in terms of policy in the Middle East is what can only be described as a “scorched-earth policy” – order out of chaos, and that that is the plan itself. A scorched earth policy has always been employed as far back in history, to the Romans and beyond. Usually, it’s when an empire is in decline or receding in power when such measures are instituted (consider the Nazis in their retreat from the Soviets).
As I see it (and please chime in with some critiques or suggestions) there are at least three patent beneficiaries of the chaos and destruction of the Middle East (including others). While Israel has a lot of pull in terms of Middle Eastern policy, it is by no means the only power. Just like 911, there is always a convergence of interests that must be in place for any of these plans to be instituted.
The Saudis are also beneficiaries in this pact, as they stand to benefit from the Sunni-Shia divide and conquer. Most notably, I think this serves their interests contra the Shia powers in the region and hence why they’ve largely funded these Islamist takfiris. It would be poetic justice if it ends up burning the one (Saudi Arabia) who plays with fire.
The other beneficiary is the U.S., as it serves to maintain the petrodollar hegemony in the oil rich region. By the implied goal of destabilization, creation of micro-states, mini-states, failed states, warlordism, etc., it prevents from any regional power that could potentially monopolize or take over the oil. Simultaneously, the chaotic landscape prevents from any outside powers from also establishing a foothold (Russia, China, etc.).
That is not to say that all these interests are always hunky dory and you cannot expect fault lines or cracks in their pact. It would be curious to see how this plays out as we closely follow events unfolding.
Of most interest to me is how this ISIS threat is now going to be shifted (if at all) into the North Caucasus and Chechnya, against Russia. I think we may see a boiling of the tense situation in the Caucasus coming soon – whether in Chechnya, Georgia, or the Armenia-Azerbaijan rift.
Great comment. Understanding the different sideshow agendas is hard sometimes but usually the best start is to apply Occam’s Razor, and it usually cuts straight through the US-UK Petro-Dollar axis … and Ga$-Dollar axis is usually missing from discussions about the MENA.
–> Libyan Gas (pumped up through Southern Italy)
–> Arabian Gas (has to go through Syria)
–> Israeli Gas (has to go through Syria)
–> Baku Gas (had to go round Armenia a Russian ally)
Destination: EU
Current EU Key Gas Supplier: Russia
Euros ending up in Russia are then spent back into the EU creating business linkages which is bad news for the Atlanticist (US-UK) agenda.
#1 threat to Petro-Dollar system and #1 spokesperson for a multi-polar world order: Vladimir Putins Russia.
London is a USDollar whore like no other and is the centre of US Dollar denominated derivatives repositories/trade. The UK is always holding the hand of the US for one reason; the AngloAmerican Empire, and the EU has been chosen to stand on the second tier of power below them, and Russia needs to continually be pushed to the bottom of the pyramid. US-UK will not however allow the Euro to gain precedence, but keep it in 2nd place.
As for Israel, it usually plays along with the Washington Consensus, but is always trying to get part of the carve up for itself. Take for instance Genel Energy, the company that built the Independent Kurd Oil Pipeline from Iraqi Kurdistan to the Turkish Petro-Port at Ceyhan … this company was setup with Rothschild money (Nathan Rothschild) and is headquartered on the Isle of Jersey (UK Tax Haven extraordinaire). The Iraqi Govt was resisting Kurd moves to profit from their own oil via direct sales. Iraqi Govt was demanding that it be sold via the Baghdad Oil Bourse, so part of this carve up is that Israeli interests in Kurd Oil (Genel Energy) are allowed to secure Oil Supply for Israel that previously the Saudis and other Arab oil states were denying to Israel.
The Israelis however are very unpredictable and a political liability for the US, and if it was ever profitable to US-UK interests to cut them adrift then I believe they would do so. For the moment however the Congressmen in DC like their AIPAC bribes too much. The Jewish religion can also be quite handy to use in a fermented religious war in the future, so I guess the US-UK like to keep Israel as a check against a possible back-stab incurred by the oil sheiks (ie, if they also decide to sell their Gas and Oil in Euros instead of Dollars)
One’s must be blind not to see the similarity between the ISIS and the Greater Israel maps:
ISIS: http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/isis-borders.jpg
Greater Israel: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/6d/Greater_israel.jpg
If there is any strategy behind this, I think it would be wise to recall the Sheikh Imran Hosein prediction of Arab Spring, because in this very same speech he made (back in 2003!) the prediction unfolds up to the the Greater Israel, and this seems to fit the current events and story telling (he even says in this video “They must be hating me now for revealing their secrets!”, and despite his repeated calls for peace he is in the US no-fly list like a terrorist, why?): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nR7-Cmszpo
However, I think that the US would have everything to loose in this strategy, Israel would become self sustainable for the first time since his creation, in terms of energy (it would have its hands on the tap of the world’s first oil-hub) and vital space. So the US would loose their hegemony on oil and their ally Israel would no longer need them.
If this is the strategy being played, the US are being fooled. So, whether the US are stupid, stuck in corruption spiral playing against their interests, or this is not the strategy.
What do you think of the possibility of the next 9/11-like false flag being perpetrated in Tel Aviv and blamed on ISIS?
FWIW, here are some tidbits on the creation and support of terrorist cells in Syria in the lead up to the formation of ISIS. Apologies if some of this information is redundant.
Here’s an example of an admission of French intelligence involvement in the training of jihadis in Syria. BTW, it’s fairly easy in a search to find mainstream articles admitting French and British intelligence involvement. At least 8 or 9 nations openly admitted as participating.

Someone else commented on the Nabil Na’eem interview. Noteworthy is his point that Muslim Brotherhood leader Issam Hattito resides in Tel Aviv. Also noted is that Ahmad Jarba, head of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, moves between New York, Paris, and London.
Last, it appears that TPTB wanted to make certain the conflict in Syria continued on a steady boil. Zero Hedge reported in February that the US and Israel were quietly supplying Iran with military support and parts which in turn was being supplied to Syria. Wink and nod?

Mehdi Nemmouche was known by the French DGSI (Directorate of Homeland Intelligence) as shown in this sample of my Open Source documented interview of Jacob Cohen (at 7m40s): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiiCNYu8WRI&list=PLzHtFW-mC6vGvXNqFcGU2cxa_1pieWOvh&index=39
This spree killing that took place at the eve of Belgian and European elections was used by the MSM and politics to:
– Influence the European vote (associating the rising extreme left and right parties with anti-semitism).
– Ban a conference of Gilad Atzmon and Soral (see the documentary sample).
– Ban Dieudonné’s show and Youtube videos (see the documentary sample).
– Influence the vote against the Belgian MP Laurent Louis (see for example why the establishment doesn’t like him http://youtu.be/aQJ73vtakkM?t=5m38s), with success!
About the ISIS’s End-Of-Days vision, it’s interesting to make a parallel with current Israel’s leader messianic urges https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFr4C2BPLeM
Some observers noticed that within the globalists’ frame of creating continental unions (European Union, North American Union, ASEAN, UNASUR, etc.) used as high level blocks for the upcoming World Government’s pyramid, a Caliphate under globalists’ control would be a very useful glue to create the Middle-East block.
– Sheikh Imran Hosein describes it as a Yankee Caliphate (I think in this conference https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_Vkvypi-C8&list=UU3Xlgbc8gq3NOMmdEUAlfGg)
– The French professor of African history Bernard Lugan explains it in this interview as well (in French, I can translate if needed): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhNlsB060c0&t=3m24s

I’ve been looking into the handsome fellow in the top right photo on this page, the one at the apex of the little pyramid of men in black. His name is Shaker Wahib al-Fahdawi, also known as Abu Waheeb and he is supposedly an ISIS field commander in the Anbar province. He also managed to ‘escape’ from Camp Bucca, just like Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
This guy is an important propaganda instrument of ISIS. He was the one shooting the truck drivers, after questioning them to determine their sectarian background. He isn’t covering his face and he appears in many ISIS propaganda video’s and photo’s, creating the archetypal jihadist image.
Here’s more info and video’s of Abu Waheeb:
http://www.trackingterrorism.org/article/rising-star-isis-sunni-terrorist-abu-wahib-shakir-al-fahdawi-leader-ussud-al-anbar-brigade
It was mentioned earlier in this tread, but I guess Camp Bucca was very instrumental in creating ISIS. Prisons can be used for ideological incitement and brainwashing. Prisons are good places to fight turf wars and install leaders in gang-like structures. Camp Cropper is also rumored to have been a hotbed for ISIS recruitment, although I couldn’t find any ISIS leaders that were detained there.
P.S. I know ‘Abu’ is a very common name in Arabic, meaning ‘father’, but it seems *all* these ISIS leaders are named Abu for some reason. Is this just a coincidence?
Thanks for the info, Bart. I wouldn’t read too much into the names. They are admittedly mostly noms de guerre.

Regardless of what alphabet initials are currently being assigned to any group in the Middle East or North Africa, and regardless of weather they are labeled “freedom fighters”, “jihadists”, “terrorists” or whatever at various times, they all have something in common.
They all have US manufactured weapons and they all drive new, or almost new, armed Toyota pick-ups.
They could have acquired the weapons directly from the US, or indirectly through Saudi Arabia or Qatar. But who supplies them with all the Toyotas? There must be some nation that is purchasing that unbelievable number Toyotas capable of being mounted with heavy weapons. Toyota should have some idea.
Thanks for the comment, AndyIB. If you look up in the article (or use CTRL+F to search “toyota”) you’ll find a link to an interesting article and radio interview about the Toyotas.
It seems to me that the world has lost sight of some very simple common sense. We debate the hypocrisy of the US and others providing funding and training (if not outright ‘creation’) of terrorist groups at the same time as we debate what steps Nato/US etc are best to take to deal with the problem they created.
What is wrong with the world that we are not tackling the core of the problem by recognizing and penalizing the countries that create and/or fund the terrorist groups. Isn’t it glaringly obvious that they are the enemies of world peace, that they are the terrorist?
Why aren’t we all screaming ‘FOUL’? What is wrong with us?
Hi, as a new member of this community, I have a rather obvious question, having read through this thread. Clearly, ISIS, like all ‘terrorist boogeymen’ is a construct of intelligence agencies, via those in global power positions, just like AlCiada and the rest. So, my obvious question is: why do we think we will be able to link it or its background to anything/anyone concrete? I think – at this particular point in time – that it might benefit the conversation more to realize that ALL OF THIS is being orchestrated by those in power as it has been since long before the ‘war of terror’ began.
We’re being worked.
Do we really think we’re going to be able to point to the ones working us and say, “oh, yeah, these guys are behind it!”?
The usual suspects are behind it, how could they not be?
I don’t mean to be defeatist, but it seems that the alternative news/truth community spends an inordinate amount of time chasing squirrels in the dark when that is entirely the activity those who are pulling the strings want. We’re being worked. I think the interesting question right now is not ‘who are they’ (we KNOW who they are) – but what is the short term end game on this particular maneuver? Who benefits? We already KNOW who is behind it, so the question becomes, what are they up to right now – what is the point, what is the maneuver and can we, as a community focusing on the trajectory of that maneuver, perhaps (if only slightly) mitigate the intended outcome? I don’t know, but – for me at least – it’s an interesting question.
Of course, you could say the maneuver is also the same as always – global instability leading to iron-fisted global control. You might be correct.
Thank you all for all the work you do and the time you spend actually paying attention to the machinations – it is greatly appreciated by those of us out here in the dark.

Greater Israel ISIS. The balkanisation of Arab states.
http://www.timesofpol.com/the-yinon-plan-greater-israel-syria-iraq-and-isis-the-connection/
ISIS is baiting the US into war, they know that the US can’t afford it, hence the beheading videos. The propaganda is deliberately done by isis, they now how the US works. Conspiracies theories does not apply here, isis wants to exhaust the US military even more after their failures in Afghanistan and Iraq. They want to fight the biggest army in the world, in that way, the recruitment will also sky rocket.
As to what follows, the region does not want a Caliphate in the area, that is direct threat to all countries in the region. Saudi Arabia is the biggest enemy of this idea, because it threatens their rule, and all the others as well.
So to claim that the Saudi regime is funding isis is illogical, if not delusional. There might be private funding from Saudi and other nations, but it’s not done by the regimes itself, because that would be contradictory to the goals set by the Arabs since the abolishment of the Caliphate in world War 1.
The Saudi regime do not want a Caliphate in any way and they are threatened by it.
http://rt.com/news/185864-saudi-arabia-fence-iraq/
Also, there are a lot of Sunni Muslims around the world who are in favor of ISIS, and I am not talking about the scholars and so on, they are paid by the oppressive regimes, they are Hypocrites and most people know this by their silence when America and their allies kills muslims, but when isis behead people, they are very hasty to come out and condemn their actions.
So the West is trying to direct those who haven’t chosen their camp yet, that is why you see the “moderate” Muslims rallying around in Europe to condemn the actions of ISIS, and say things like they don’t represent Islam. The problem is, if you have a little knowledge about sharia law, and how to establish a Caliphate, and a bit of the rulings, you realise that what isis is doing in the region is totally legal in Islam.
But the West portrays these people with knowledge as extremist and so on, they are trying to control the narrative and get public backing to bomb Iraq again for their own interest. Isis is not going away, the seeds have been placed an even if the US and the coalition manage to destroy ISIS, 2 days after someone will come and take their place.
Here’s an interesting article in the Empire’s newspaper the NY Times that made me LOL: “Suspicions Run Deep in Iraq That C.I.A. and the Islamic State Are United”
Nothing that we don’t know, but it’s always funny to see the NY Times giving any attention to these in a dismissive sort reference in passing, even if in disdain.
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/09/21/world/middleeast/suspicions-run-deep-in-iraq-that-cia-and-the-islamic-state-are-united.html?_r=1
“BAGHDAD — The United States has conducted an escalating campaign of deadly airstrikes against the extremists of the Islamic State for more than a month. But that appears to have done little to tamp down the conspiracy theories still circulating from the streets of Baghdad to the highest levels of Iraqi government that the C.I.A. is secretly behind the same extremists that it is now attacking.”
There’s that famous phrase – “conspiracy theories” – gotta love that. You know we’re doing something right when the evil eye of Mordor aims its gaze upon this topic.
If there were any truth to these allegation, they would never put it in the new York times. As to what follows..
Through out the Muslim history in the last few decades, every rebel, or everyone standing up against the oppressive regime are branded Cia agent or in collaboration with them, we saw it Osama, with morsi, and now with ISIS. If you are indeed truthful, present your evidence for the Cia is in collaboration with the Islamic State. And let us say hypothetically that the CIA did train rebels in Jordan, according to the Jordanian official, the Cia aim is clear, remove assad and get a more western friendly regime, just like they did in Libya.
The CIA backed groups in Syria are very clear, it’s the FSA and the military Council, even at their meeting there is Cia agents coordinating their moves, also Germany and French intelligence officers.
Now, let us say that you sir, have traveled to Syria and joined the fsa, with their clear collaboration with Cia and other intelligence agencies, and then later see them for what they are, and decide to join another group instead, like isis, and then join them, are you still working for the Cia? No right?
So these allegations only confusing the Muslims, everyone accuse the other for being with the Cia, but when you actually ponder, why in the world would the Cia help create a Caliphate in the Middle East? Which is against capitalism, profits, democracy, lying politicians, the West in it all shapes or forms, which is against all forms of us hegemony?
Against all of the US allies in the area? It doesn’t make any sense.. These allegations stop short of logic, this is only conspiracies and nothing more. If isis were in collaboration with the Cia, they wouldn’t start attacking us interests, they wouldn’t take over oil fields and throw the US companies out, they would let the Iraqi puppets working there continue their work.
But this is not the case, isis works totally opposite of what the Cia have interest in. And also, the claim it is a part of a bigger picture, or something about a greater Israel project, this is nonsense, Muslims inside the Islamic State, and those fighting, will never give up their arms and start obeying Israel or the United States, that is delusional to even think of happening.
Remember these people fighting, are fighting to make God’s religion dominant in the Muslim lands, not democracy, not autocracy, not monarchies, they want to have sharia to rule.
And lastly, the fear mongering in the West is only done so to achieve sympathy to bomb Iraq, they don’t want a repeat of what happened last year with the bombing idea in Syria. They want the people to be content with the bombing, so they use and manipulate the ISIS videos and beheadings, and this is done by people who don’t even speak Arabic, understand the religion of Islam, or have any insight in sharia law.
This errie satire is so cleanly presented, has it started today?

That’s a sensational headline, but dig a bit deeper…what did we train OMON squads in???
Did you guess, Counter Narco Terrorism (CNT)?
Here are the juicy bits, according to a 2008 diplomatic cable: “staff organization and planning, orders production, mission analysis and the military decision making process, intelligence preparation of the battlefield (IPB), direct action (raids and ambushes), special reconnaissance, close quarters combat/battle (CQC/B), sniper/observe
operations, military operations in urban terrain (MOUT), Counter-Improvised Explosive Device (C-IED), Sensitive Site Exploitation (SSE), tactical communications and basic combat life saving.”
Laughably, our diplomats exclaimed that this CNT program “promotes greater regional stability, decreases the amount of illegal narcotics
transiting through Tajikistan and Central Asia to international markets in the Russia, Europe and the United States and is an indirect approach for defeating international terrorism and insurgents that threaten the
stability of Tajikistan and the region.”
http://wikileaks.org/cable/2008/10/08DUSHANBE1269.html
And….heres some more from a 2009 cable:
“The Defense Department completed four Counter-narcoterrorism training (CNT) events in 2008. One of the units trained, the Border Guard special force group, afterward Qunits trained, the Border Guard special force group, afterward conducted three successful operational missions resulting in drug seizures. We developed counterterrorism capacity within the Ministry of Internal Affairs OMON unit used for SWAT and other emergency response operations.”

I bet all that Counter Narco Terrorism training will come in handy, if say, they ever wanted to fund their organization with opium…
