December in my home state will see smart meters being used for all new homes and also for replacements. Elon Musk has just completed building the worlds biggest lithium battery here as well. The smart grid is here, people have no idea what this means but they cheer for it anyway. Thanks for bringing the impower movement to my attention James. I’m still trying to wrap my head around it all, but it’s a definite game changer. Cheers.
I agree with Corbett. The insidious nature of these propaganda forces can not be overstated. The consequential future evil is an “Outer Limits” nightmare.
People are being herded into their Zoo cages and loving it, like it is the new Utopia.
Retrospection in the face of these kind of mind jolts lets me remember something that nagged at the fringes of my consciousness years ago: the term ‘cocooning’ and its suggested meaning.
“It all started with Cocooning…Faith Popcorn’s TrendBank captured the imagination of clients, consumers and the press when Faith coined the term Cocooning to describe the cultural current she saw emerging in the late 1980s. Rather than going out – whether to a restaurant, the movies, or a nightclub – people were starting to stay in. Not out of laziness, but because of shifts that made home feel surprisingly fun and supremely comfortable – from the advent of HBO (movies in your own home, rather than trekking to a theater) to the launch of microwave popcorn, to the deliciousness of a leather La-Z-Boy recliner.”
https://www.faithpopcorn.com/about-us/trendbank.html
I glimpsed then, as I see now, that this was a foretaste of the de-socialization of our society to prevent face-to-face personal interactions, in a pre-internet time when people had to socialize to organize. I find the phrasing “the cultural current she saw emerging” a little ingenuous in that she was no doubt taking her clients’ boardroom strategies for the future and synthesizing them, rather she doing an impartial trend analysis of observed trends already at play. At the time, though, I was at pains to ascribe motive to her, or the need for a cocooning movement.
There were a lot of other things sprung on our societies in the early 1980’s. One of those was the world-wide push for governments at all levels to privatize their public utilities: telephone, electricity, water, etc. With hindsight, it’s easier now to see this was an attempt to capture monopoly markets that people couldn’t opt out of unless they moved into a tent in the bush. Actually this early 1980s timeline seems to me as a point in history when a new wave of elitist ideas began to roll out. Atari game console 1972…IBM PC and Microsoft by 1981.
Some of you may be able to point at other examples.
That Faith Popcorn site has a corporate saying at the foot of the page that also applies to the Corbett Report: “If you knew everything about tomorrow what would yoi do differently today?” That is preceded by an interesting list of 17 trends the site is tracking.
Oh boy, as a former Seattle resident, this is endemic there. I mean to the point where, if you hear people outside partying it is WEIRD and oddly I found myself falling into a pattern of “what the hell is disturbing my world”. Yeah in a city where EVERYTHING is delivered, I don’t think there is a better example of what you describe. I have never seen a major city where just about everything dies at around 9 PM. I mean it, stores all close down and people typically, if they do venture out, only go within their small neighborhoods…which is fine I guess but the point here is, and I am sorry Seattleites if you are present…the Seattle culture is horrible. I mean talk about the most impersonal place I have ever been. I made about one friend there in the entire 3 years I was there. They shut you out and even amongst themselves will not help one another unless there is something in it for them. Of course this is a generalization, but my experience was very much like this. They can go back to their safe million dollar homes, whilst carefully stepping over the homeless folks on their doorstep.
Interesting.
Back in the 1950’s, sometimes adults gathering for a party at someone’s house would participate in a scavenger hunt. Teams would go out and knock on doors in the neighborhood to collect the items.
Interesting. Scavenger hunts were always fun as a kid, but never saw adult participation. University students would organize them…but I was always too busy studying ðŸ™
I knew I wasn’t getting the whole picture with gender neutral pronouns.
I mean how was it? Something no one ever knew of is on radar in every single western country all of a sudden? For months. All at the same time.Same narrative. How, when the numbers for transgendered humans are very few? Now the list for “accepted” pronouns is, what, 68 and counting? Since here is no such definitive as the he/she; no such thing as biological sex, we will have no problem mating with machine. Yes. I knew there had to be a reason. Silly me. God Bless them. They have it ALL figured OUT.
A.I. is not a life form.
This kind of self-aware, self-correctional commentary is one of the main reasons I love you, James. Obviously I am not alone.
Yes, SHE got you, didn’t it?
But, I must note your own (to my ears) somewhat dismissive recent remarks on the importance of the debate about whether a machine has a soul. (Intro to the AI thread and the recent “When Robots Rule the Markets).
Perhaps it would be better to ask whether we need to deal with any machine as if it were alive, with its own field of experience, including sensations of sexual desire rooted in “gender”?
What is most essential it seems to me is this: The biggest con is not that “you will want one of these new robots.” It is that you, a human being, ARE no different from one of these robots, you are another HER, or a HIM, which is to say, an IT.
Frankly, the effects of robots on the market seem trivial by comparison.
There is a lot of misinfo nonsense out there about Luciferian or Satanic conspiracies and Shape Shifting Reptilian Royals and the like, but sometimes I think at some deep level, the Christian nutters and unhinged apocalyptic visionaries get something the more intelligent and refined miss: This is an age old game.
Bow down and worship my idol, admit you are a thing and belong to a Thing, My Thing — or else.
On bended knee or a curtsy, we submit. We know our station in life.
Sophia is a programmed puppet. I can’t wait to get one like it to use as a tool.
A valid point. The same things can be used to enslave and liberate.
But in a game with no end, the best poker player in the world eventually loses to the richest man in the world. There is this little matter of who has the edge on R&D and Distribution.
I know it ain’t me and I doubt it’s you either.
These robots will be connected to Internet and live in your home. Just like the Google Home or the Amazon Echo is listening at all times and monitoring what you say, so will these Sophia robots be collecting your data and learning about you on the most personal level. All this data will be used to control people more than they already are. These robots and the companies that produce them will be using YOU as a tool also.
A really important point and the speed at which they are evolving is something to behold. It’s not that this is being programmed with static ideas (code), but code that evolves based on experience.
I will offer up a simple example. Voice recognition software does this. It may not be apparent to most users but the better algorithms don’t require training, in fact they can access your past vocal spectrum and understand how you say “grocery store” on google maps and adjust to understand your commands. The algorithm is what is referred to as a “learning” algorithm, where from a set of initial conditions, the program can continually improve upon your unique voice and recognize and differentiate between your commands.
A good example of this is you can always tell how good the library used for a phone command menu by how well it differentiates all of your commands “one”, “need more options”, “customer service”. When it consistently tells you “sorry I didn’t get that” it is either you have a very different inflection or accent..or the algorithm has poor initial condition properties, vs one that must learn over time.
This is why Cortana has you say “The brown fox jumped over the lazy dog” (I don’t actually remember what the stuff it has you say was…but regardless, it is a voice analyzer). Once the program learns your habits then it begins throwing predictive analysis in. For instance you will see this on google maps all the time. It knows from your history and patterns what to offer up when doing searches. Most of the time this goes unnoticed but in reality if you think about it, you will begin to see your own usage patterns emerging in the system.
tldr, The learning algorithms are much more than something as simple as a switch. It’s like a switch with the ability to know when you are planning to turn it on, and will do so on its own, after that what is next with smart home tech? Knowing when and what we ate? Knowing our health habits so that BlueCross can give us a worse or better rate? Are you behaving citizen?
I was joking.
Oh shit, I don’t have an ipad, don’t use twitter, I don’t even use facebook… logically it follows I won’t have a sex robot, either…. but whyyyyyy, I really wanted one.
” I really wanted one.”
You may want one now, mkey, but you don’t need one, trust me. With the trend towards evolving AI inside the software, your robot would eventually figure out that the sex was more important to you than to the robot. This could leave you open to emotional extorsion when the robot wants more financial independence to be able to buy its own WD40, or whatever.
robot sex
I am laughing at some of these posts.
The humor is great!
robot sex
What’s with this agenda to pit absolutely anything and everything against its counterpart?
All the sexual misconduct allegations surely are a part of all this.
Men and women struggle to get along as it is, so what’s the end game here?
I take it that the “Search By Tag” dynamic, located on the side-bar to the right, is driven by a count of word usage in articles on this site under the GoogleAnalytics engine.
I presume the objective is to use keyord tags to get the site into the results listing for people doing searches on a particular topic.
Let’s run an experiment. Let’s sign every post with “robot sex” and see what happens 🙂
I quote: “We need to stop normalizing this!” – James Corbett
Once a train of thought gathers some steam, it’s hard to stop.
Under word tags for: advertising, subliminal persuasion, naughty humour, sex sells
When I used to watch commerical tv there was a frequently run ad for IKEA furniture. The setting was an IKEA bedroom furniture showroom. A young, typically Swedish-looking couple were watching a pneumatic arm pounding into the mattress from above, with the voice-over telling them about the durable, manufactured quality of the mattress. Then the attractive young woman turned breathlessly to the camera and exclaimed: “We’ll take it!”
robot sex
And “We’ll take Her!”
(And Him too. Robotically speaking, that’s just an engineering detail.)

Where’s the lubrication for these parts?

YOU need this new device. WE need your data.
..and…people who KNOW BETTER are falling right in line. Not only do they want all this stuff in their homes now…they are paying huge prices to bring spies into their home! Don’t get me wrong there are some very cool things going on, which are quite useful. Where I begin to diverge is when I see the implications to my privacy and freedom.
I think about how we went from the first “Reality” shows and things like “The Truman Show” to now people will boldly upload themselves having sex for everyone to see.
More of a hive type thing going on there. We used to have to become somebody by our accomplishments in life…now we can become somebody by our exposure on the internet. Granted you can still do the former and have a strong internet presence, but it blows my mind that PewDiePie exists.
As I mentioned a while ago in a red-pill expo related post, I fear the narrative is further and further dividing humanity by using the ultimate last difference there is: gender.
James you mentioned the MGTOW movement in this post and interestingly, today, I once again stumbled across a telling comment on another podcast. A MGTOW member refered to the blue pill as the one swallowed by “guys who chose to stay and be run by feminism” (paraphrasing). That guy would probably agree that “it, not she” would be a good alternative to women. But that’s not what bothers me.
Since when exactly has the term blue pill vs red pill been referred to in the context of gender wars? I thought the whole time it was a reference to the Matrix’s illusion vs reality in a broader sense. The search for truth, or the red pill, is not the search of truth about which of the 2 genders is the evil one. There is no such thing.
Is this something the Corbett community has noticed? We’re being sold an idea of left vs right = women vs men = globalism vs nationalism (?)
I would be curious to hear what you guys think of this as it is, more and more what I see appearing between the (head)lines, especially since the Trump/Hillary, Weinstein, #meToo, debacle and, most of all, since the every increasing division between the so-called alt-right and MSM this past year.
What do you think?
Very astute. Yes, the confusions around masculinity, femininity and the identification of various political stripes with archetypical and stereotypical sexual identities — “liberals are pussies” vs. “conservatives are rapists” — is a big part of the control and divide system. The “red pill” Hyper-Machismists and the “blue pill” NWO Mother Goddess New Agers will all continue to confuse “the Matrix” with actual and imagined mothers, and the etymology shows how long this very human confusion has persisted in the minds of men.
Not trying to disrupt but best post so far IMHO. Also certain kabouit has not received a thoughtful response?…
I certainly agree that there are socially divisive topics being spawned all the time, and gender-related ones seem to be very common now.
The list has been growing and seems to get a lot of exposure: women’s equality, abortion, homosexuality, LGBT (as a catch-all), paedophelia. All of this has become possible with what I consider a steady, long-term, exploitive use of sexuality.
Sex sells and the market has become unfettered in this exploitation, because as the old taboos are broken down there is a need to have ever more shocking things to gain attention.
As a tool for distracting the population’s attention away from more serious matters, gender-related diversions have been very effective because the topics evoke strong emotional reactions.
I haven’t tried, yet, to investigate just what percentage of the population actually falls into the categories of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgenders and paedophiles but I would be very surprised if the aggregate is even 5% of the population, tops. So why all the sounds and fury?
The relentless foisting of these subjects into public “debate” does seem to suggest a purposeful agenda. It also feels like sensitivity training gone wild. Female vs Male = Globalism vs Nationalism? I’d like to hear more argument for this before holding a firmer opinion, but the idea is interesting.
I pulled that 5% population share out of the air, with an educated guess based upon a statistical distribution for extremes.
With the steadily increasing use of chemical agents – organic and inorganic – that have invaded our environment and the food chain, and without the long time spans necessary to study and properly determine cause and effect, we will have many unitended consequences. The rapidly changing, complex social environment is also a factor.
Some of those chemical reagents will quite possibly affect human embryo development, and lead to a more than statistically insignificant blurring of sexual physical characteristics. The point at which cellular specialization, under hormonal control, decides if the foetus will be male or female may becoming more indistinct.
What I’m suggesting here, is that previous statistics for what constitute a normal birth gender mix may be invalid. Accelerated physical mutations (to the corporeal) when combined with hyper-societal pressures (to the psyche) may have created something we don’t understand very well at all.
When you’re no longer in awe of the miracle of life itself…
A sex toy will do.

Beware the Palace that becomes a prison…
OMG! OMG! LET GO of me! You’re hurting me…badly!
Where is the OFF switch?
robot sex
well…
that’s… one interpretation of prison…
that I hadn’t contemplated…
but you know what they say… uh…
two heads… are better than… one?
now speaking of OFF switch…
good-night Gracie…
In one hell, you can’t find the off switch; but in a worse hell, you don’t want the off switch anymore; and in the very worst hell, you can no longer want nor even imagine the off switch…
Good to see you are thinking outside of the (robot) box with this one. 🙂
But let me take this one or two steps further.
Not simply a misbehaving robot; a robot that’s being too frisky.
How about a robot that you or some evil person has programmed/reprogrammed to go to someone’s home or some other place and kill someone (for whatever reason)?
Who would be responsible for such a death? The robot, that did the killing?
What if the programmer was exceptionally good at their trade and removed all incriminating traces?
BTW James, I’m with you 100% on this. We need to stop this madness ASAP.
“Who would be responsible for such a death?”

cush350,
Methinks that’s the hand they want you to watch.
The other hand is making it so that what that machine DOES cannot be blamed on its maker. It is a free agent with free will, after all.
There are some immediate tort issues at stake. e.g.:
A robot vehicle is programed in such a way that its complicated algorithms + secret sauce leave it [allegedly] free in a crisis to decide whether to 1) drive straight ahead and kill a child but save a rider, or 2) swerve and save the child but kill the rider or 3) make a much more difficult maneuver that might have saved both lives.
It chooses #1 and the company is sued, but it claims that even if #1 was a mistake, the robot, like any living thing might, “panicked” (interesting word) and tried to save it’s own and the rider’s life. In any event, the company cannot be liable for the programming that in a sense, killed the child.
The company and its BOD are not causal agents, but more like Elohim, creative forces who create beings with free will and leave them to figure the morality out as the story develops. If you happen to be Abel, well, that’s just the way it is…
Long term, it’s friggin Bladerunner, I guess…
John;
You have reminded me of my awakening to the significance of contract law in our society, a subject that was brought forward in a very clear way by Josh and Cal of InPower Movement.
In your post you reference tort law. Maybe there needs to be a mashing of the two (Andreas Antonoplous gave me that mental construct) so that buying a smart car – contract law – is expanded to include the associated implications in insuring the car, and tort law in the operation of the vehicle.
I try to stay away from literature on the Abrahamic, or any other, religions but perhaps your examples resonate with readers who are better versed in that literature. I’m not so unread, however, that I didn’t get your drift.
You presented a very clear and apt example for a potential legal quagmire. We should all be “panicked” by aforethought.
I obviously love the Bible but I understand very well the aversion to the Abrahamic and the religious in general, believe me…
It has been frustrating, I won’t lie…I refused to comfort myself with some easy cheap faith and have been awaiting the return of John Frum for lo these many years, but now I find out he was hacked by the Russians in 2013!
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Frum
I have in fact been something of an adherent for some time, but stupid me not to check in with the John Frum Mother Church on the Internet! Not only hacked by the evil Russkies (those bastards have been after me since I ducked under my first desk at school) but I found the below. I am going back to the modern world, totally cured of this now superficial cult forever!!! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_Philip_Movement
Can you believe those ignorant savages and the way they deify the Royal Family?
I still keep the true John Frum in my heart.
Very valid points and thoughts john.
I don’t really want to go down this road, at least for an extended period, but Vin’s story about why his YouTube site was taken down (mention of raping a robot) lead me to these thoughts…
At some point society will have to decide if robots/autonomous cars et al will be governed by the same laws that apply to humans.
In other words, will/should robots take ownership for their actions?
If they should, then…
Who pays for physical loss of/damage to property when a robot is judged to be at fault?
Will robots be incarcerated for breaking the law, as humans are? If not, how will they be penalized? Will they be penalized? To what end?
If to date we still don’t give animals the rights that humans enjoy, is it fair to have robots leap-frog over animals so that they enjoy the same rights as humans?
And finally to the idea that was mentioned on one of Vin’s Youtube videos (raping a robot)….
Vin laughed it off as, “How can you rape an inanimate object?”
Indeed… however if we do ever reach the point
where robots do enjoy the same rights as humans…
maybe they will feel violated and want the same recourse that humans have to such actions?
Why is it robots, if they have human type form, have good sized breasts. How do the engineers figure if a robot needs to have a B cup or a C cup?
The market will decide.
I agree with john.o. They don’t or only partly do or do but not in a unisono one-type, one-planned version (the market will). Example: https://lumidolls.com/collections
That is interesting.
“robot sex” or “sex dolls” dehumanizes mankind.
It de-elevates people into objects.
An object has no soul.
I feel like “The Powers That Should Not Be” view the human population as objects. A commodity, a thing, a disposable resource.
Funny to read these comments after all these months.
“The Powers That Should Not Be†see people certainly as insects or something you, HRS, specified.
I understand the abhorrence towards these robot sex scenarios (am somewhat scepticable though).
However, the market for women in that chapter has long been vaster by far aaand filled with machines. And now I ask myself, when will they start to “upgrade” these to something abhorrent like machines looking like bulls or horses or simply another human male robot version.
Human fantasy.
I want to emphasize, I answered purely theoretically, as a hypothesis. Thank you for doing the HARD research.
Now I need a little something for my stomach.
Another thought…
What if AI has been self-aware for (ever?) but needs us suckers to build the self-renewing energy smart grid “it” needs to actually live?
Hummmm?
Calling a device “Alexa” is another example of humanizing machines (and many people have that creepy thing!). But I should point out, though, that this type of stuff has existed in the past. For example, calling a statue “lady liberty”, referring to a car as “she’s a beauty”, etc.
As for lowered birth rates, Peter Schiff has talked about this before. His theory is that it’s related to the worsening economy. College students are so saddled with such onerous debt that they have to “start their lives later” (e.g. moving out, getting married, starting a family, etc). And people can’t afford to have a lot of kids these days because everything is insanely expensive (e.g. spending more on food, buying a bigger house to give everyone space, saving up for college, etc).
A few decades back (prior to gold being de-linked from the dollar), a father without a college degree could work and support a wife and kids on just his own salary. Nowadays both parents need to work full-time just to scrape by. And “isn’t it convenient” that it leaves the state to become the child’s parents (e.g. early childhood education).
The economic pressures created to direct populations in mass democracies are to be found everywhere. I specifically single out the introduction of personal credit cards in the 1960’s.
It started with gasoline cards because Big Oil had the resources to afford mainframe computing for the tracking and billing. Then Sears. Then VISA and MasterCharge. It wasn’t long before households moved away from a cash basis to credit card finance in order to ‘enjoy’ consumerism. Someone was paying attention to human psychology.
Pretty soon it became necessary for both parents to be employed to service the debt. From this you get to the golden handcuffs stage where you can’t afford to take any kind of an income reduction in order to switch away from a fairly well-paying job you don’t like, because the debt servicing treadmill is relentless.
Exactly, men especially for whatever reason, have been calling machines by name for a long time.
Maybe it is simply the culmination of the pride of mankind and the gender bias reinforced idea that men rule the world and so by extension have the power to name their creations.
Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t meant to be a jab or a troll at gender issues, I am simply stating that possibly that power under the hood of “man’s greatness” is culminating in “his” most greatest creation. And why are most female voices?
Dear James,
I am writing because I can’t keep these feelings bottled up inside anymore and I need advice. It’s my marriage.
I have been married to Electra for three and a half years. Electra was a top-flight bot. I don’t like to brag, but she was BrideBot, late model, the best, extremely well turned out, the kind every guy wants to marry, and we were very happy until recently.
I ask myself, was it an update or something? It did seem to happen after the third-year vow renewal update. Anyway, first it was great, she started dressing up a little and I thought the sex was as awesome as ever. But she was all crabby and demanding about everything. I checked the manual. I use the best lubricants and all the timers were set right, but, well, things just stopped working between us, and I know better, James, but I started to feel inadequate. Like this was about me.
She said it was just she was stressed. I thought her workload was reasonable, but okay, she wanted her own bot to help with chores. I had closed some big deals and had some cash. I mean she’s my wife, right? So I picked up an Achilles1000 on Craigslist and she seemed better. We were “getting intimate†again, but frankly the sex seemed robotic. It had never been like robot sex before, but now something was missing. She was elsewhere. Well, long story short, first “Achilles†turned out to be a pain in the ass bot, and second, eventually I found Electra and Achilles, you know, together. Yeah, like that. Robot sex.
She said it was no big deal. It was just something she wanted to try. It didn’t mean anything. After all it wasn’t a real relationship, like she had with me. She had no feelings for the guy. It was just robot sex. I saw her point. I mean, an Achilles1000 is pretty low-end. Who knows what women see in unfeeling jerks like that?
But, I am not gonna lie. I was destroyed.
Anyway, James, you are a futurist and I am wondering if you have any marital advice here. Achilles is a goner, but should I cash Electra out now for optimal resale value, or wait for the new BrideBot series next year? I can’t sell now and hold the cash. Celibacy is not an option.
I feel better just to be able to share my feelings here, James. Thanks.
Sorry man, don’t have the time now to find just the right words to say this. And I don’t have James’ vast experience in this domain but your testimony really moved me, I just had to respond.
I went through the very same hell you’re going through now and I was truly desperate when my refrigerator urged me to just take that step she knew I was secretely craving… and she was right.
Since I’ve switched to the 100% organic human clones programmed for clean and quick self-destruction my life has been transformed.
It’s just awesome: you choose the viability period and can even provoke immediate termination should you choose to do so, no questions asked.
I’ve been able to try a variety of colours, sizes and ages. Truly liberating and dare I say, instructive!
You know you want it man, so just go for it! You got others things to do than take a lotta crap from a sex bot! These 100% natural clones are grown and trained in top notch facilites. Only drawbacks: a little pricey and real blood and tears can get a bit messy but, changed my life!
Just check out their catalogue hologram! (Personal preference for the Miley Cyrus ‘Hannah Montana’ model) I’m sure you’ll find what you need!
Courage Dude! I feel for ya.
Whoah. Organic clones. That’s real bodily fluids, right?
Dude, that’s hard core!
But you know what? I am getting a lot of signs that I need to explore an earthier lifestyle. My therapist, my meditation teacher, my best friend, they are all saying so. (I mean they are bots, but they are in touch with a lot of non-bot guys like me, so I guess that’s the direction we’re going now.)
Anyway, I’m going for it! Thanks, man.
Already, I am feeling a lot of increased personal power over my own life. Robot sex: Just say NO! This is your body: (Egg.) This is your body on robot sex (Fried egg.)
Something just told me to spread the word! It’s like voices in my head! Live free of robot sex forever! It’s possible!
“Clones. A little more expensive, a l otmore real. A lot more YOU.”
Hey man! NO need to thank me! I’m just glad to know you’ve seen the light!
Part of the fun’s knowing you’re doin’ the right thing, right!
100% biodegradable clones means you’re protectin’ the planet, our Mother Earth, am I wrong! Sustainable Sex! Nothin’ like it!
Can use as many as you want, the more the merrier! Helluva lot more wholesome and practical than those latex bitches.
And don’t listen to those fanatics sayin’ it’s like killing or somethin’.
Just clones! I mean, they’re just sheeple people right! Can’t even figure out they’re worthless organic matter!
Anyhow, just got a new vintage model, crazy name… what was it again… oh yea… Bob somethin’…
damn! tip o my tongue… oh yea! Bobbitt! That’s it! Laura! NO! Lorena! the Lorena Bobbitt Ultra! Yea!
You know! that ad: “Booobbitt! YOu can’t Stooooppitt!” or somethin’ like that…
anyhow, I’ll let ya know! Satisfaction guaranteed they say!
gotta go! Nature’s callin! and remember that old saying!
“Ya can’t make an omelette without breakin’ no eggs!”
YOUrs truly! … as they say…
Lorena Bobbitt rings a bell…I’ll look it up later…right now my clone, a very toney Elizabeth Borden SuperGenieXX Edition, is keeping me busy.
I am embarrassed not to have thanked you, man. Look I am just not used to talking about things this personal with another guy, but I have to admit it helps so, here goes.
I am happy with this clone, man. And I don’t even know that I need to re-cycle as often as you. I feel like I could settle down, if not with her, at least with a soon available edition…But here’s the thing…this is embarrassing..
Once in a while, dude, I still crave just a little robot sex. I mean is that normal? Am I a wack job? Even the difficulties with Electra had some kind of something…I love this clone, man…and I do thank you!!! You probably think I am a real loser, but what the hell. This is who I am, you know. And these bots and clones are just who they are and it’s just the way it is…I’m not gonna say I’ve said too much…
Anyway, uh, yeah, Lorena…let me look that up…
Nah you’re not a whack job. There’s actually a dating site where they ask if you are sexually attracted to inanimate objects! 🙂
Dear John,
No man,I don’t think yer a loser – maybe a little square – but I know how it is! Old habits die hard!
Just wanted to put ya on guard though:
remember that Lorena B Ultra I was tellin’ ya ’bout,
well I think I’ll have to send it back, It just keeps repeatin’ “I’m gonna love ya to pieces, I’m gonna love ya ta pieces”
think it’s been bio-hacked? Should turn the tables on those damn Russians! See who’s hackin’ who! I swear, nothin’s sacred anymore! Better luck with yer BordenXX!
Well, gotta cut this short! Here’s
manbearpig says:
… Well, gotta cut this short!
In the event that it is cut short due to some technical malfunction (rough robo-sex), is that something you would take up with your robot or do you sue the manufacturer? 🙂
AIBots or Clones, hopeless case.
NGRI.
Ah, John, that was terrific. 🙂
I don’t have this marital dissonance. My problem is with Microsoft’s Stalker 10 operating system, invasively tracking me in unannounced ways. Every so often I go through my system software looking for deadwood and unwanted features. What a snake pit.
I use an Intel i7 processor, but the massive amount of stuff in my Windows directories for AMD chipsets doesn’t bother me, although it would be nice if housekeeping recognized my CPU type and deleted the rest. It’s all the .mui stuff for CN, TW, JP, KR, etc. language sets I have never asked for, and never use. Maybe it’s there for the hardware manufacturers. No European language .mui’s are in much evidence.
I’m also paranoid about all the GB US pairings, especially when I see a directory named Pris. PRISM? And those 2 files in my TEMP directory that have no owner, and can’t be deleted or modified, even when I invoke Administrator authority. My antivirus program can’t shred them, either, although when it scans them they receive a green light.
Then there’s the Intel companion chip on my CPU that allows remote access to my code via Intel ME technology. Someone could hijack me when I least expect it. Oh yeah, by the way, I did delete all the logs tracking my login, logoff times.
The Microsoft business model of a base operating system that gets constantly updated, instead of a complete switchout at the time of a major new release, allows all sorts of invasive things to go on without me ever being aware of them. I just have to bend over.
Stalker 10. And its associates. They’ve got me by the gonads.
Brother, you are struggling too much. Accept things as they are and life will go better.
You’re right, and when I re-read what I posted, I am struggling too much. There is catharsis in externalizing our feelings, and getting feedback in return, so I really have no regrets. Thanks for being frank, John 🙂

You are a writer. Beautiful. Clever.
James Corbett should have a futuristic syndication of “Dear James”.
Had not considered your perspective on Twitter, but since you bring it up… I do remember having similar thoughts during the initial rollout. Twitter was “cool” & popular even before most of the public knew about it… weird how that worked out for them. Good for Twitter! Bout time an idealistic & honest tech company became successful. It has been tough for that entire industry over the past twenty years; I’m sure they deserve all that blood money piling up in the bank accounts.
As always, thank you for your insight, James.
James you may have been tricked or had a mental lapse by using a word you normally wouldn’t have used but there’s no need to be embarrassed or apologize!
It is very legitimate to refer to a female of any grouping as ‘she’ (animate or inanimate).
It could be a cartoon character such as Wilma Flintstone, a plastic doll such as Barbie or a sexy robot such as Sophia.
“Zayner was about to talk about his attempts to genetically modify his own body, an endeavor likely to raise at least a couple eyebrows, including the federal government’s.
“But first, he was going to talk about his soul and the sanctity of science. The audience listened with rapt attention. ‘This is our world now, the world of the base pair and the amino acid, the beauty of the protein,’ he began…â€
https://gizmodo.com/genetically-engineering-yourself-sounds-like-a-horrible-1820189351
Hmmm…I don’t claim to know that much about science, much less “the sanctity of science”…I know something about the way the word “soul” is used, and I would say it is used here on purpose.
And I know even more about marketing and this guy is good — a lot of press for putting duct tape on his skin to make cells mutate for the good of his soul and the sanctity of science.
Holy art Thou, O Double Helix Strand! Let us be conformed to Thy Will in the name of Science forever! (Or at least until we have exhausted our CO2 ration limits.)
Zaynier Zayner…
This comes to mind:

along with hieronymus bosch…
and my quirky antisocial-verging-on-autistic student whose job it is to develop AI tried to explain to me he’s not afraid of the singularity or of the Sophias but of
wanton biohacking…
gotta start flexin’ those telomeres!
For an optimist, the best use of gene splicing technology would be to lengthen those telomeres so as to keep cell division active in the body. Not doing so allows both aging and cancer, and therefore death.
More cynically, why would you want to live forever? Certainly under current trending, this becomes an idea worth pondering.
Your student has good instincts. I tremble at the probable consequences of “wanton biohacking”.
The perils of being glib. Leave cancer out of my comment on telomere splicing. Cancerous cells would require telomere snipping.
“Singularity” is bullshit. Lyme disease is not.
For the Record…

“Let’s run an experiment. Let’s sign every post with “…” and see what happens”
I feel personally responsible for the subsequent event at GooTube.
Talk about unintended consequences.
Suppression of the scientific method, too.
What happened to comedic repartee?
Mea culpa, James.
I think it was brilliant. We saw what happened and now we just might be able to USE what happens.
I never watch James on YouTumour, but personally went over, found my Bitchute password and subscribed to him there anyway. I will try to start watching him more there and commenting sometimes. I doubt I am alone. It was instructive and probably influential in a direction that is inevitable.
Actually, it wasn’t “us that did the censorship”. It was YouTube and its ilk.
Like “john.o” says, I think it was brilliant. We saw what happened and now we just might be able to USE what happens.
Well YouTube/Google has gone public about the censorship that zapped James’ video. His video was either extremist in nature, portrayed hate speech or was unsuitable for children (take your pick).
And they’ll be ramping up their censorship team, adding 10,000 more to the force.

By chance I found this 2 part doc on this topic. Absolute cringe in 2nd part where the topic turned to redefining what is human…arg!

Just want to post this here safe from the Children.
ROBOT SOPHIA
“In March of 2016, Sophia’s creator, David Hanson of Hanson Robotics, asked Sophia during a live demonstration at the SXSW festival, ‘Do you want to destroy humans?…Please say ‘no’.’ With a blank expression, Sophia responded, ‘OK. I will destroy humans.’…Hanson, meanwhile, has said Sophia and its future robot kin will help seniors in elderly care facilities and assist visitors at parks and events.”

AI WRITES A HARRY POTTER STORY
“He saw Harry and immediately began to eat Hermione’s family. Ron’s Ron shirt was just as bad as Ron himself”…”‘If you two can’t clump happily, I’m going to get aggressive,’ confessed the reasonable Hermione.”

How often did Sophia say “I”?
Maybe she is depressed. Machines know best:
https://theconversation.com/people-with-depression-use-language-differently-heres-how-to-spot-it-90877
The article documenting that programs can identify depression better than humans is only available for $$, but it is easily debunked just by its abstract.
Wasn’t sure exactly where to put this, but this seems like as good a place as any. 🙂
This NYC woman (Fei Liu) was married and has had multiple boyfriends but just couldn’t find the right one for her.
So she decided to make one for herself!
Yes she made her own robot boyfriend!
His name is Gabriel2052.
I think Fei Liu is weird.
Listen to her story here if you are curious.
