The Net Is Mightier Than The Sword – James Corbett at TEDxGroningen

12/25/20147 Comments

Since the rise of the internet people have changed from mere audiences into authors and editors. With pieces of technology small enough to fit the whole world into your pocket, a revolution might be on its way. The net is now mightier than the sword. This presentation was delivered at the TEDxGroningen conference in the Netherlands on November 20, 2014.

Beautiful talk Mr. James! Proof right here that you CAN BE very understandable, right?
I have been very worried that ‘they’ will take away the internet as the next 9/11. As I am sure that most people are concerned as well.
I don’t remember you addressing this topic, do you have any thoughts on the likelihood of this?
My little donation will be sent before the end of the year.

Is anybody else interested in setting up a separate fund for James and his family to go and visit his family in Canada next summer? I am good for forty…anybody else? HEY! Even a dollar would help!
That would be a great Christmas present to James, what do YOU think? Can you imagine how much James’ family misses James’ little boy?

James, don’t know if this is a Mac issue – I don’t have it with anything else, but I cannot hear you on this. I can hear all other vids fine, but not this one, too faint to pick up anything but that you are talking (like a million miles away)

  3. lincolnlea says:

Thankyou – got it on the youtube, still fainter than most, but I could listen. Very nice presentation James, congratulations.
By the , I don’t know if you are aware it was picked up and spread to Lew Rockewell

Must have been daunting to deliver a TED talk but you pulled it off with aplomb. (I do not recommend you go stating you pulled it off on stage without some clarification however).
    Wishing everybody a happy hogmany.

    Of Swords and Pens

The pen may be stronger than the sword
But pens, like guns, can be bought,
And battles of words, like battles with guns,
    Can be unfairly fought.
Those who rule know all too well
    The power of the word,
    And so they ration carefully
The ones that can be heard.

In our land there’s little chance
    That virtue will prevail
When “truth” is a consumer good
And words are all for sale.
