The BRICS Summit: What You Need to Know

09/09/201762 Comments

The leaders of the so-called “BRICS” nations converged on Xiamen in Southeast China this week to convene the Ninth BRICS Summit, the annual get-together for the association. And to the surprise of absolutely no one, the event kicked off with a joint declaration full of the usual mealymouthed diplomatic gobbledygook that was immediately hailed by the members’ state-run media mouthpieces as the start of the group’s second “golden decade” and (say it with me) “paving the way for a new world order.”

Yay.

But, buried in among all the feelgood diplobabble were a few nuggets of significance, as predictably indigestible as those nuggets may be.

Like the BRICS’ reaffirmation of commitment to the UN and their “sustainable development” scam, Agenda 21/2030:

And their resolve to foster a “global economic governance architecture,” complete with an obligatory curtsy to their IMF/World Bank masters:

And their genuflection to the World Trade Organization:

Barf.

But, like it or not, the summit did generate some actual news worthy of scrutiny, so in the interest of keeping you informed, here are the most important stories to emerge from this year’s BRICS Summit…

I swear, James Corbett is a hell of a writer. That pen glides.

If we lived in a real world, not a “fake world”, we would see his articles on the front pages of Yahoo or AOL or The New York Times or Bloomberg. It would boost their readership like mad.

Of course, we live in a “fake world”. So, the thought of such is like imagining dog vomit.

  2. Pablo de Boer says:

FED, ECB, BRICS and BIS are different names for the same kind of monetary system and all are invented by the members of the Globkaki (global kakistocracy) and the members of the globkaki also fight with each other due to that power corrupts, which also happened in the past with all the wars between the European inbred monarchies… But until today the history still repeats itself, due to the fact that humanity make always the same catastrophic choices on how to create a new society…….

A radically decentralized world localizes the impact of institutional failure while centralization universalizes it. Create your own community and when people want to create a centralized society, that isn’t a problem for me, as long they don’t impose their centralized life-style on fellow humans who want to live a decentralized life style just as my person. I also will not impose my life style on others due to my opinion that everyone has the freedom of choice. I also will not ask them, centralized worshipers of state, to help me to create my own world, due to the fact that there are enough other fellow humans who has the same ideas as my person. Or is it a crime for you as centralized worshipers of state when I think and act decentralized and independently ????

My lifestyle will not impact yours and even though I’m against (national) borders, I will create my OWN boundaries in order to prevent that my lifestyle will negatively affect your centralized dreams and I also create my OWN boundaries to protect myself against centralized life styles.. Why not let those who disagree with me live in peace in their own centralized communities. Esto es no problema para mi persona.

Really I don’t need somebody above me or a (mikkie’s) wikipedia supervisor who tells and mandate my person how to act and live. A few months ago at my work a unit manager said to me that he was my boss and I replied to him, I have NO bosses because I am not a dog, only pets have bosses.. He did not like my remark when I saw the expression on his face, but he also didn’t say anything anymore… This person is also a descendant of African slaves and I wanted to make a remark on masters and slavery, but I didn’t express vocabulary these thoughts of mine towards him. Later I shared these thoughts with colleagues with the same attitude as me and we had a lot of fun as usual…

In the shamanic tradition there are 2 kind of shamans / shawomans, one is the curandero / a and the other is the brujo / a. The curandero heals you and learn you that your person self is the solution and medicine for your own problems and when your return back to the curandero with the same or new questions, the curandero will tell you that you didn’t listen the first time… A brujo is like the western medicine-(wo)men very toxic and dangerous and will say to you, that you have to come back again..

Aristotle said for law is order, and good law is order; but a very great multitude cannot be orderly. To the size of states there is a limit. My person self prefers to create little communities, where all inhabitants have almost the same ideas and because the larger the population of a society is, the more prone it is to tyrannical rule and the more brutal tyranny will be. Excessive size of the social unit is the primary cause of tyranny due to the growth in governmental power that it breeds.

Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely as Lord Acton said and Aleksander Solzhenitsyn wrote in the Gulag Archipelago, “Unlimited Power in the hands of limited people always lead to cruelty”. And I self (Pablo) experience each day that almost all (99%) politicians behave as psychopaths due to the unlimited power they have. The governments who are member of BRICS aren’t an exception in this, because it is full of psychopaths who lack feelings of remorse and guilt, lack the ability to empathize and are skilled at deception and manipulation.

Leopold Kohr clearly expressed in his book The Breakdown of Nations the following statements: “There is nothing in the constitution of men or states that can prevent the rise of dictators….. Power exist maniacs everywhere.. The only difference lies in the degree of tyrannical government which, in turn, depends once more on the size and power of the countries falling victim to it”
“… why should not as may individuals have as many different institutions as they like instead of having all to use a single costume which half of them might consider not to their taste? If freedom of choice is considered an advantage economically, why not also politically? For, with a great multitude of systems prevailing in an area inhabited by hundreds of millions of people, it becomes mathematically inevitable that far more individuals are able to obtain what their hearts desire than if the same region were to permit only a single system, even as in a restaurant many more people can obtain satisfaction if the menu includes a great variety of dishes rather than a single one which can be made palatable to all only through the propaganda of the cook”

“… all our instincts drive us constantly to create boundaries, not to tear them down. We draw them around our gardens in the form of fences, and within our houses in the form of walls separating our rooms… Boundaries are shelters, and for that reason they must be close to us, and narrow. To tear them from human societies would be like tearing away the shell from the body of a tortoise or the shore from the ocean. But boundaries are not barriers. What we want to keep from the harbor is the storm, not the sea… It is the barriers ,then, which are detrimental to human development, not the protecting boundaries whose functions is to keep within healthy limits”.

    Hola aloha señor James,

As you already mentioned & your I=page, the BIS is the headquarter of the International Banksters and where the capo di tutti banksters plan their global robberies and thefts. Did you already read the MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) which formalizes the mutual interaction and strengthens the existing relationship between the BCBS (Basel Committee on Banking Supervision) and the IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) Foundation at the strategic and working level, focusing on the development of IFRS Standards, the interaction between IFRS Standards and the BCBS Framework and the manner in which they are applied in practice by financial institutions across the world????

It appears to me as the usual pyramid scheme as a business model applied by the banksers / globkaki.. This is the press release of their MoU and their MoU is here also available to download…

In recent months of this year, ForeignPolicy and ForeignAffairs magazines insisted on the necessity for “rethinking” or “down-grading” Eyptian-U.S. relations considered obsolete and exceedingly onerous for their strategic nature in the Middle East.

Yet Trump reportedly wants to “reboot” relations. Does he really?

Or is this just another set-up to look like more sand kicked in the face of the hotheaded president

Will Egypt be the next in the series of turncoats pledging allegiance to the frontier leaders of the sustainable wild wild Eastern black-goldrush?

  5. Thanks for this insightful analysis, as always. It’s amusing watching the U.S. – known for its brand of “Democracy” internationalism in the 20th-century – morph into an inwardness and self-infatuation with its own “indispensability” that it still feels it possesses. It’s lost its luster and “image” more than ever. And it’s as if, right on cue, the powers that shouldn’t be are simply restructuring, rebranding and marketing their globalist agenda anew. Unfortunately, too many who still succumb to the left-right paradigm, will also succumb to this false dialectic.

    • I just happened to notice this, but it appears that Wang Yi has tried to assuage Pakistan’s concerns regarding the statements asserted at the Xiamen summit.

      “‘Good brother and iron friend’

Mr. Wang embarked on a post-BRICS balancing act when he praised Pakistan as Beijing’s “good brother and iron friend”.

“For years, Pakistan has been a victim of terrorism. More importantly, Pakistan is an important participant in the international cooperation against terrorism.”

He added: “When it comes to the issue of counter-terrorism, Pakistan has done its best with a clear conscience. In comparison, some countries need to give Pakistan the full credit that it deserves.”

2017 New Year’s Perspective, Yamashita and Who is Putin working for?

Back on January 4th, in response on the comments board to Mr. Corbett’s article “Trump’s Pivot to China” (interesting perspective on this one)

some mention was made of Yamashita’s Gold and the Black Eagle trust.

Deanna Spingola explains that evidence of these “shenanigans” were destroyed when WTC 7 went down.

Ms. Spingola also evokes Putin’s role in “The Bush Family’s Project Hammer”. She introduces Project Hammer thusly:

“…In 1989 President George H. W. Bush began the multi-billion dollar Project Hammer program using an investment strategy to bring about the economic destruction of the Soviet Union including the theft of the Soviet treasury, the destabilization of the ruble, funding a KGB coup against Gorbachev in August 1991 and the seizure of major energy and munitions industries in the Soviet Union. Those resources would subsequently be turned over to international bankers and corporations…”

explaining later that “…Putin was financially rewarded by the collaborators and was happy to purge some annoying industrialists who stood in the way…

…He (Khodorkovsky) was allegedly targeted as a political enemy by President Vladimir Putin who went after other big business owners who apparently made money by acquiring states assets. Yukos was sold piecemeal to pay off $28 billion in back tax charges. Yukos was seized and given to Rosneft.[24]

(incidentally from 2013 Telegraph article: Dominique Strauss-Kahn joins board of Rosneft-owned Russian bank)

(Spingola continued)…When Khodorkovsky was arrested, his secretive business arrangement with the Rothschild family was exposed as Jacob Rothschild assumed Khodorkovsky’s 26% control of Yukos while Khodorkovsky’s directorial seat on the Yukos board went to Edgar Ortiz, a former Halliburton vice president during Dick Cheney’s reign as CEO at Halliburton. …”

    http://newswithviews.com/Spingola/deanna112.htm

So who is Putin serving? And what is his relation to Israeli colonizers and America’s golden captain, Trump?

“…This week’s news stories don’t link Leviev with specific accusations; rather, they indicate a number of business and social relationships that connect him to Vladimir Putin and Kremlin-related businesses, as well as to the Trump Organization

    (Sorry for the cliché conclusion)

    • manbearpig says:

I forgot to mention that Spingola’s second link goes into a rather detailed description of what the 9/11 attacks were all about.

Does anyone know anything about her that I should know?

    From Pablo’s Article:

“That’s code for an all-Asian (and not Western) Afghan solution brokered by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), led by RC, and of which Afghanistan is an observer and future full member.”

Is this true James??? Is Trump sending more troops to an observer country of the SCO???

    “Is this real “world politics”?”

  8. PeaceFroggs says:

Question for Corbett: B.R.I.C.S = Brazil. Russia. India. China. South Africa. Even though the BRICS may wrongfully be viewed by some as opposition to the IMF, the fact is that these countries are actually cooperating together right?

Therefore, can’t we assume that since these countries are indeed working together (either with or without the IMF and World Bank), then this means there is less chance for war between them right? And isn’t less war a good thing?

They say the road to hell is paved with good intentions, therefore it seems to me that regardless how these countries come together an cooperate with one another, people will label their achievements as a new type of evil New World Order.

Damned if they do, or damned if they don’t. So, what’s the alternative?

  9. joseph says:

    QFC,

We have saying here in Kentucky. “If you run with dogs you get fleas.” I keep hearing stuff like this (from PE’s artc)

“Beijing is ready to step up the game. Soon China will launch a crude oil futures contract priced in yuan and convertible into gold.”

Correct me if I am wrong, but in my limited interpretation of the Chinese prescriptive constitution, the Chinese people don’t nor will ever own anything. Property, gold or free speech. They have a one party command economy with no hope for the future. The CCP is literally selling organs of political dissidents. Caveat Emptor, any person, corporation or government doing business with China will probably not end up cultivating anything but chains for their posterity. True, ideas rule the world and the CCP has the absolute worst. Their economy and ecosphere will eventually collapse as the USSR’s did. The question is the contagion and how much clever stealing from the future they did with their new paper contract castle in Beijing.

    • PeaceFroggs says:

There’s this preconceived notion that the Chinese may not enjoy the same freedoms that we do here in the West.

Given that the Chinese pay property tax like we do in the West (in other words, we may perceive to own land, but in realty since we both pay property tax we don’t really own it, right?)

Google “Chinese house in middle of highway” and tell me this scenario would be allowed to play out in America, yet it happened in China.

Seems like the Chinese may enjoy more “freedoms” that Americans.

      • ekawAediW says:

PeaceFroggs, funny image – thanks for the tip. Though it appears that the house predated the highway. The owner was a holdout, refusing all government low ball offers trying to entice him to move. It would have been a different story if he had built the house after the road was built, but as it is, holding out from the government that’s trying to forcefully usurp your property is a pretty common thing.

        • PeaceFroggs says:

          ekawAediW,

There are hundreds of these so called “nail houses”, but I think you missed the greater point I was trying to make.

The fact is, even though people pay property tax, the Chinese government did not physically force these people off their land. (Waco comes to mind)

I’m no expert in Eminent Domain, but from what I read, China’s property rights, although far from perfect, have improved greatly in the last few years.

My point was, given our preconceived notion about China, holding out from the government that’s trying to forcefully usurp your property wouldn’t be a pretty common thing.

I believe most of us would have thought they would had simply bulldozed these houses down and paved over them right? I mean, who ever heard of property rights in communist China?

  10. amoelcordero says:

Hola James. Your work is impressive & very helpful for my thought process regarding geopolitics & realpolitik in the current international climate. I have followed your output for at least several years now & wish to express my gratitude for your selfless devotion to telling the truth about our world, in so far as that is possible in the age of propaganda & spinmeisters we are passing through.
I do wonder, however, how you see the banksters, led by Goldman-Sachs, as pulling the strings of the BRICS & their alternative market to the fiat petrodollar market which has dominated the global economy since Bretton Wood. The sanctions-mad Atlantic Alliance, in effect, has expelled so many nations from their economic regime through the application of sanctions that an alternative market system was inevitable. The BRICS-Plus is the expression of this development in global finance & trade. The BRICS’ New Development Bank (NDB) has been formed as an answer to the blackballing, extortionist policy of “eternal debt” forced on the “third world” nations for so many decades. It is the alternative to the condition of debt slavery imposed by the IMF & World Bank. The countries which are anxious to join the new market are those which, heretofore, were unable to obtain financing in the debt-based economic system without selling their people down the river merely to obtain loans to pay the interest on previous loans, while imposing “economic reforms” (read austerity for the poor, & privatization & deregulation for the wealthy & corporations) which drive the profits of neoliberal policies. Since the BRICS, BRICS-Plus & the NDB, as well as the Shangai Cooperation Organization (SCO) & Belt & Road Initiative (BRI) are all efforts to escape the debt slavery & tyranny of sanctions imposed by the Atlantic Alliance to control natural resources & impose financial monopoly. They are actually, imho, a ray of hope for breaking that monopoly & creating a new multi-polar politico-economic regime with competition, that lodestone of capitalism (if the proponents of that system are to be believed). I look forward to a fair distribution of the world’s wealth among all the nations (& thus, the people) of the world. An end to the debt-based world economic system is an end to suffering & inequality as we know it now. Alternative markets are the devolution of economic power you, as an avowed anarchist, would seem to be advocating. I understand that you see this new BRICS market as a “here comes the new boss, same as the old boss” scenario, but it is what we have now to break the current monopoly on economic, & therefore political, power. Let us not “throw the baby out with the bathwater.” Great changes are afoot; we shall have to see where the sanctions- & debt-inspired new market(s) lead us. I, for one, am excited by the development of the concepts the BRICS embody.
I look forward, with cautious optimism to a more equitable future for the peoples of the world. I also look to your great mind to provide brakes on my enthusiasm & give me to see what Toto is revealing behind the curtain.
Keep up the good work. You are a treasure for the world’s intellectually & economically impoverished. Continue to be Socrates’ “gadfly of the state.” Peace.

(Incidentally: 2013 Telegraph article: Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the former head of the International Monetary Fund, has joined the supervisory board of a bank owned by Russian state oil major Rosneft.)

(Back to Spingola article:) “…When Khodorkovsky was arrested, his secretive business arrangement with the Rothschild family was exposed as Jacob Rothschild assumed Khodorkovsky’s 26% control of Yukos while Khodorkovsky’s directorial seat on the Yukos board went to Edgar Ortiz, a former Halliburton vice president during Dick Cheney’s reign as CEO at Halliburton…

The other night I was thinking about how life was in the late 1960’s, early 1970’s.
Everyone had a phone line and a TV antenna on their roof. People drove cars or motorcycles. No electronic calculators.
My brother and I talked about Star Trek when it first hit TV in the 60’s. We thought the idea of the communicator (cell phone) was hundreds of years away.
Lifestyle was good. Normal food was somewhat pure normal at this time.

      I compare then and now.
This era, 50 years later sucks by comparison. The fundamentals could be the same. But no… now we have over-complexity, incredibly destructive pollutants/wavelengths, a terrible food supply and angst.

With Zohr gas fields, will Egypt become a BRICS Plus?

“…China can use its clout as an oil importer to up its profile in the region without making many security commitments. Russia’s interest in Egypt is a useful prism to show that some dynamics of Cold War competition for influence are still in play between the two “strategic partners,” particularly since Russia stands to lose from longer-term regional security commitments without economic gains…

Egypt is particularly eager for investment from China, evidenced by the fact that Egypt was the first African nation to join the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in 2015.

…China has targeted Egypt because the Suez Canal is a crucial chokepoint in China’s envisaged maritime Silk Road under the umbrella of BRI. Whereas China was Egypt’s 23rd largest investor at $500 million total invested until 2016, it invested $10 billion into Egypt last year through large deals. The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China has announced intentions to invest up to $35 billion into Egypt, $20 billion of which would be projects financed by the bank. Though a $3 billion project to help build a new administrative capital fell through, China used the Belt and Road Summit in May to announce that they planned to invest a total of $40 billion in development projects in Egypt…”
