Interview 395 – Arnie Gundersen
Arnie Gundersen, an energy advisor with 39-years of nuclear power engineering experience, joins us to discuss the ongoing problems at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, as well as the lessons that can be learnt from the disaster. We start with an update about conditions at the site and then talk about the relationship between the nuclear power regulators and the industry itself. We finish by contemplating the long-term effects of the Fukushima disaster on the industry and the possibility that Fukushima will prompt a fundamental reform in the way we think about power generation.
