I live 15 minutes from Ozark, MO and this is the first I’ve seen of a report on their movement. Granted, I’ve not been looking but I should have had this on my radar. Perhaps they need to market this a bit to get the word out. It actually sounds like many church initiated schemes I’ve heard of.
You’re right, IF…they were going for mass public notoriety. I think a large part of group’s like this appeal is actually that they aren’t. It stands in stark contrast to the mass marketed public relations corporate campaigns that many people are starting to find so jarring. Also, a large part of the success of P2P groups is that the business model is inherently successful. Everyone involved benefits (profits) individually at a shared (usually low) cost.
But you’re right in the sense that many a small group could benefit from being more “marketing” minded probably.
