Thanks, I almost threw up. The music alone is sufficient to provide the heebie jeebies.

In the EU a healthy tax cut is considered to be somewhere around 50%, the real sweet spot. Difference between failed states and those more up north is that failed ones give you next to nothing in return. In these nothing works, the infrastructure is a piece of crap, the “schooling” system is in shambles, the medicare is there to take care of your wallet only etc. They will also try to take as much extra as they can on top of that 50% in form of fines and whatnot.

    Why not mention this again.

    Game: Frostpunk

After finishing the game, you can go to
the next level of taxation and slavery.

Jingles plays Frostpunk in a video:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GwQv09P9iw
Besides taxation you can put people with alternative
opinions in mines and prisons. Or starve them
    and replace them with refugees.
    Just like in a “democracy”.

    • manbearpig says:

Zyxzevn! You’ve just effectively plugged a generation gap! I’m constantly haranguing my son for watching videos of people playing videos!

But now I’ve just watched Jingles playing Frostpunk for over a half an hour! Gripping! Revealing! Troubling! Provocative!

      Propaganda within anti-propaganda??

Reminds me of that movie SnowPiercer…

Also reminds me of a thought I’d expressed a while ago here about Smart cities like NEOM being possible solutions for massive global cooling…

I keep telling the discontented French down here on the Riviera that I’ll take this presently persistant but passing heat wave over a cold snap any day!

      • zyxzevn says:

You may also like the game: Fallout

Oxhorn has some good videos in which he explains the different factions.
        https://www.youtube.com/user/ClassyManIAm/featured

The game is about survivors of a nuclear war with China.

The real evils in the game are government related:

Vault-Tec – does “scientific” experiments on people that are locked up in Vaults. Almost each Vault contains a horrible experiment.

Brotherhood of steel – like US army.
        Destroy everything and steal resources.

The Institute – technocracy: replaces humans with bots.

Hallucigen – develops drugs to make people fight each other

Automatron – Create Robobrains from living human brains.

Former US – Started nuclear war with China.

You now know what you were paying taxes for. 😉

  3. zyxzevn says:

    US Military spending:
There is also about $21 Trillion missing at the Pentagon:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KfJO8Irjyo
Someone must be stealing office supplies.

And the huge US debt of about the same amount is taxed by the
banks in the form of interest.
So a lot tax-money is going to the banks and their friends.

It could be that the banks are friends with the military.
    Oh wait, they are!

  4. HomeRemedySupply says:

This adds yet another aspect to the expression: You are being gamed.

And Corbett has been there with that phrase…

Military is majority of discretionary spending, not all spending. Please be accurate James.

  7. manbearpig says:

Actually Mr Corbett, revolting slaves are not just criminals, even more egregiously, they’re “Bandits”.

    Just ask the Haitians.

Wanna see what your slave owners and their peace keepers really think of you and your right to participate in the government of your “home country”?

Wanna see what your tax money paid to the United Nations is paying for? :

Sonia, Stanley and Nelson Romulus won’t be able to explain it to you so I’ll just repeat myself here.

Wanna see the true face of Taxlandia?

  8. yvonne.m says:

Why is there a UK flag on the front page? We are supposed to be leaving, aren’t we????

    • Octium says:

I’m guessing it means the “English” language version has been selected.

I’m guessing that because the on line version doesn’t actually work for me.

I’m guessing that is because the slaves they paid $1 an hour to code it while they pocketed the other $299 an hour from the government grant didn’t actually do a good job.

  9. djt says:

Sorry James, but the top tax rate for individuals in the US was 91% in 1960, and over 70% in 1970, during the greatest economic expansion in US history
Table of rates 1913-2018 here: https://bradfordtaxinstitute.com/Free_Resources/Federal-Income-Tax-Rates.aspx

    “The 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s
Over the next three decades, the top federal income tax rate remained high, never dipping below 70 percent.”

Guess few of us who are against taxation are old enough to remember these top rates!

And speaking of taxes; Apple uses transfer pricing in order to avoid paying ANY US tax…Apple makes us homeless (I struggle to live a mile from Apple WHQ in Cupertino…I know). Boycott Apple

    • mkey says:

You think people payed those obscenely high tax rates?

Why do you think the tax code manages to work its way up to being 72000 pages thick?

Did you know there were 4 recessions during the 60es? 4 in 11 years, if my memory serves me correctly.

      • Mark K. P. says:

sounds like a lota fun reading mkey ; and since income and corporate tax isnt even legal in the US, i’m betting about 71,500 of those are pure obfuscation.

Now here in Australia, and probably all Brit commonwealth countries that didn’t rebel violently, income tax is doubly, quadruply, legal. Its probably more legal than the law itself. So our tax code is probably a lot thinner. But i haven’t seen it and should check it out. Anyone else down here under ever seen it or counted the pages (or read it if you’re a loony) ?

        • mkey says:

You can bet reading it is fun when you’re saving billions of dollars. Or if you’re a big fish lawyer exploiting “loopholes” at the tune of millions. I bet that third helicopter really hits the sweet spot.

I’m not an expert of tax code, but from what I heard from several sides, tax code as is can fit on 2 pages of regular size font.

The “general tax code” in my failed state prints out to some 76 pdf pages from their online edition, when copy pasted to a doc document I got 110, but that depends on formatting and whatnot.

Do you find it interesting with how much pages of rules and regulations you’d need to get very up close and personal to be able to legally go about your daily business? It’s hundreds and hundreds of pages of illegible text you’re supposed to not only know and understand, but follow through the changes as well.

      • HomeRemedySupply says:

I am still procrastinating doing my 2017 IRS taxes which were due in April. (I always file an extension) I was targeting to do them yesterday, but didn’t. It is just gathering the paperwork and organizing the categories for a CPA.

Corbett Report is a nice place to go when I am procrastinating.

After the IRS audited me the first time, I decided to do my own taxes. One year, I filled out 9 IRS forms.
Now, my taxes are so complex that it takes a CPA. Not that I make money…I have lost so much money over the years that it takes a CPA to keep up. I haven’t paid on income in about 10 years.

Maybe worthy of consideration in a future episode. (although you’ve already beaten this horse afew times). All the incorrect cartoon charts that aren’t even based on real data and lack of any documented references amid strong claims rub me the wrong way.
