In the EU a healthy tax cut is considered to be somewhere around 50%, the real sweet spot. Difference between failed states and those more up north is that failed ones give you next to nothing in return. In these nothing works, the infrastructure is a piece of crap, the “schooling” system is in shambles, the medicare is there to take care of your wallet only etc. They will also try to take as much extra as they can on top of that 50% in form of fines and whatnot.
Why not mention this again.

sounds like a lota fun reading mkey ; and since income and corporate tax isnt even legal in the US, i’m betting about 71,500 of those are pure obfuscation.
Now here in Australia, and probably all Brit commonwealth countries that didn’t rebel violently, income tax is doubly, quadruply, legal. Its probably more legal than the law itself. So our tax code is probably a lot thinner. But i haven’t seen it and should check it out. Anyone else down here under ever seen it or counted the pages (or read it if you’re a loony) ?
You can bet reading it is fun when you’re saving billions of dollars. Or if you’re a big fish lawyer exploiting “loopholes” at the tune of millions. I bet that third helicopter really hits the sweet spot.
I’m not an expert of tax code, but from what I heard from several sides, tax code as is can fit on 2 pages of regular size font.
The “general tax code” in my failed state prints out to some 76 pdf pages from their online edition, when copy pasted to a doc document I got 110, but that depends on formatting and whatnot.
Do you find it interesting with how much pages of rules and regulations you’d need to get very up close and personal to be able to legally go about your daily business? It’s hundreds and hundreds of pages of illegible text you’re supposed to not only know and understand, but follow through the changes as well.
I am still procrastinating doing my 2017 IRS taxes which were due in April. (I always file an extension) I was targeting to do them yesterday, but didn’t. It is just gathering the paperwork and organizing the categories for a CPA.

After the IRS audited me the first time, I decided to do my own taxes. One year, I filled out 9 IRS forms.
Now, my taxes are so complex that it takes a CPA. Not that I make money…I have lost so much money over the years that it takes a CPA to keep up. I haven’t paid on income in about 10 years.
Maybe worthy of consideration in a future episode. (although you’ve already beaten this horse afew times). All the incorrect cartoon charts that aren’t even based on real data and lack of any documented references amid strong claims rub me the wrong way.
