Alex Abella joins us to discuss his book, Soldiers of Reason: The RAND Corporation and the Rise of the American Empire. We discuss RAND’s “contributions” to military planning, systems analysis, nuclear weapon deployment, rational choice theory and many other aspects of our society. We also learn how we are all, as Alex says, “the bastard children of RAND,” whether we know it or not.
