I remember when the towers were “attacked” the first time. The rationale that the attack was a statement of western aggression struck me as odd, given the target. Then when the 2ed “attack” came, well it took me a while to start questioning it. I’m ashamed to admit that I was swept up in the media fervor and propaganda. But Trump’s glad handing with NATO brass is sadly typical of a politicians shifting allegiances.
This trend of requiring real identies to access sites or register email accounts is just (insert a huge string of bad words). Anonymity on the Internet is something I won’t ever stop perusing. I don’t think the government, or whoever, has any right to people’s identities. Yes, this might allow people to offend others or conduct transactions that aren’t regulated or monitored. But nobody ever said life doesn’t come without risk.
James, your use of the term “communist China” in this podcast jarred me today. I have only recently started to question the default meaning of this term.
It would appear that the way economic affairs in China are conducted, giving rise to a wealthy middle class in addition to a super-wealthy elite, suggests the country is more of a semi-capitalistic dictatorship run by a ruling state-controlled elite.
This appears so when compared with governments in the west, where corporatist influenced/controlled governments are actually run by private groups of elites – or plutocracies.
I’d appreciate hearing what others have to say on this issue.

Speaking of western governments, today there was an interesting opinion piece on Europe’s childless leaders:

In reading through this, I also paused to reflect upon an imam’s comment directed to a meeting of western clerics: “You have democracy, but we have demography.”
Democracy seems to be structurally flawed. Some call it mobocracy. Then there are the dynamics of influence by an intolerant minority. And the system seems to be easily corrupted by wealth, and a psychological manipulation of the general public’s mindset.
I spoke of default meanings in my last post. We need to redefine “western” democracy as well as “communist” China. Socialism also begs a new critical analysis, although I personally favour socialism to capitalism. I would much prefer an economic polity that puts quality of life and community ahead of the profit-oriented paradigm.
Economy needs to be redefined, it’s one one the most overlooked dogmas today. Taken for granted, assumed it’s going to get better and believing in “leaders'” policies, accepting that one can’t understand its intricacies and as such better left to experts at the whim of their benevolent nature.
Socialism is something everyone of us carries in our ourselves. Taking care of those who are worse off, lending a helping hand in time of need… in a semi functioning, reasonable society socialism is pretty much given. Government abuses this core human tendency and subverts it, hiding theft and redistribution of wealth behind it, while subduing the natural human reflex. Why, I’m paying my taxes, that person rummaging through garbage must be getting something out of it, I better look away and shrivel and die a bit inside in the process.
Only a government can take something beautiful, warm and fuzzy and turn it into a weapon of societal destruction.

For me socialism is a political philosophy and as each other political philosophy it is a tool invented by the mentally disturbed elitists so they can lie and manipulate the sheeple people, who are not a aware of it and/or are busy with watching sports, being mesmerized by the television, are shopping, etc. and have no problems that narcissistic persons are in charge of their own life. That’s why mkey I have no socialism in my body, but I have it in my mind and there I totally oppose socialism with full dedication.
But mkey I’m empathic towards the needy fellow humans and this kind of feelings arises voluntarily in my whole body and mind. I even don’t have to think about it first, because this feelings arises naturally in my whole body + mind.

The Real Reason Zuckerberg Supports A Universal Basic Income
Why is someone worth $62 billion complaining about inequality? Why is the world’s 6th richest man lecturing the public on the wealth gap, and floating ideas like the government spreading OUR wealth around while hoarding his own?
In 2015, Mark Zuckerberg claimed he would give his entire fortune away to charity in his lifetime, and promptly formed an LLC for that purpose… as opposed to, you know, a charity. This means that instead of using his own money to help people, he can spend that money on lobbying politicians in Washington to use YOUR money to help people.

No, I guess true charity is the responsibility of the rest of us.
I have empathy for the poor, for those who truly don’t have an opportunity, and I would sleep easier seeing everyone with a more robust safety net. But what I can’t stand is being lectured by somebody who actually could do something about it, acting helpless without government intervention.

Whether I should never do this again, if this was just in poor taste, or if this was informative, I’d like to hear your thoughts before my next article. (I’m averaging 1 every 2 or 3 months.) Also critical feedback is welcome.
I do think bitcoin has the potential of being used as a trojan horse of sorts. While the technology has a tremendous potential, it can be hijacked by the opinion makers rather easily.
Not to mention bankers want to go full digital anyway, so bitcoin is paving the ground in their direction no matter how you look at it.
In the end, I think it’s going to boil down to whether or not people will be able to discern between public held blockchain and “government regulated” ones.
James, I understand what you’re saying but,
(1)about China 2.0, but it is better to have two hegemons than one.
(2) You disagree that the two hegemons are different, but I don’t think the Chinese Rothschilds are the same as the Western Rothschilds. They have an alliance yes, and they may strategically act as a coalition like NATO, but they are not one and the same group, I maintain. Therefore, divide and conquer is a possibility here, at least in theory. I would love for you to discuss this claim, because I believe it to be critical to any effective counterstrategy.

I ran accidentally into this video, 20 something minutes well spent. It contains interesting reflections on life, death, morality, religion and authority, wrapped in a science fiction animated setting.
This video complimented well some thoughts I had recently on the fact I can’t be certain about what is real. We could be indeed just a part of simulation, even worse I could be just a figment of imagination of a person being simulated. How does one reach conclusions on the true nature of a system while observing from within?
