That aspect is probably what the broad public have such a difficult time fathoming. It is difficult for most Americans to believe that high ranking officials and the media would deliberately let thousands and thousands of people die or suffer atrocities. It is difficult for most Americans to confront such evil.

Canadian government introduces the Cannabis Act today.
As suspected, another step in the direction of a total police state.
If you contravene the Act (for example if you are suspected of growing more than 4 plants in your home) the police can enter your home and use as much force as necessary on you to get the evidence they need to convict you.
I’m not advocating for or against the use of cannabis, just pointing out that if you do plan to partake in growing or consuming the product, the penalties for not following the government rules to a tee can at the extreme be quite draconian.
And this Act is supposed to be the model for the rest of the world’s nations.

Doctors treating Aukland farmer Alan Smith had decided it was time to turn his life support machine off. He had been in a coma. His family said “Let’s give him Vit C intravenously, we have nothing to lose.” The hospital adamantly said “No!” The sons sued the hospital into doing it. Later, their Father walked out of the hospital.

In the case of Alan Smith it was worse than that – when he was transferred to Waikato Hospital ( less traveling for family ) the Waikato hospital flatly refused to let the life saving Intravenous Vit C continue.
A successful family driven intervention grudgingly allowed in one totally outlawed in another and yet both are part of the Ministry of Health ( now there is an Oxymoron of great magnitude )
