As much as people’s approval of Rand Paul varies, the hidden climate money issue is something that he addresses as he continuously presses the notion that all funding appropriations should be voted on SEPARATELY in congress. I think the importance of some of his proposed policy changes he promotes are lost in their simplicity and common sense. There is no reason climate, arms funding, health etc. related funding should be voted on in the same bill. There is no reason we/congress/senate shouldn’t be given time to read bills before they are voted on. Term limits should be used to regularly “drain the swamp”, something which will never happen in our rigged system.
Its easy to stand back and play anarchist and say that congress/senate are useless, corrupt and the wrong way to govern, but the fact remains it is the current way things are done. Rand Paul has a very dry and boring but very important role of standing in the weeds of the current system trying to push us away from one terrible policy at a time. His work on repealing Obamacare and holding Republicans’ feet to the fire for trying to push through ‘Obamacare Lite’ is also worth highlighting.
My point, while we argue for a tear down of the system from our perch on high, we also support people engaged in a very direct way in the system against enormous amounts of pressure to conform to the status quo.

Mandatory genetic testing imposed by employers – what a monstrous development!
It’s based on another more fundamental problem: I’ve argued for years that employer-based healthcare insurance ought to be illegal as a matter of antitrust violation.
The employee-employer relationship starts out uneven enough, especially in large corporate environments; it doesn’t need added leverage dumped on the employers’ side of the equation.
No other “first world†country has a system as bad as this one here in the states, however privatized or socialized their healthcare system is – our system is a foundation for corporatist fascism.
This primary source of healthcare coverage in U.S. society reminds me of the “employee villages†Carnegie used to set-up for his indentured-servant mining families – a system of total control over their lives.

Of course the best levels of corporate-based healthcare coverage for the most elite “employees†are luxuriant, and the best levels of coverage for the average employee are the best, most stabilizing, fairest coverage affordable to anyone in the middle-class – so rocking this boat is taken as a threat to the supposedly most stable portions of our society.
Divide and conquer.
Fortunately there are uplifting and inspiring stories too! – Portland Anarchist Roadcare – brilliant!
Indeed: “Who’ll fix the roads?†“What about community?†This is a great meme shift – love it!
This is levity for us, for sure, but also most things that threaten the control grid’s status quo are usually “dealt with,†so to speak.
I hope there is some sober sense of non-violent proactive protection from enforcement that might ultimately be directed against these good Samaritans (even just in the form of enlightening documentation, since we know this sort of thing can also take place, and it seems unfair to let good Samaritans like these take the brunt of state-based coercion and violence without some support).
Remember how feeding the homeless was made illegal in parts of Florida? There was some very effective popular rejection of that official attack on that community support system too.
At times, I wonder where the line should be drawn on the affect we have on climate. Even Judith Curry said there is a man made contribution – the discussion is over how much of it is man made. I am against the carbon taxes as it is just a method to redistribute wealth to the rich and powerful. But am I wrong is seeing that renewable/clean energy – solar, wind, etc. – is the way to go both b/c of the polluting factor of so called fossil fuels as well as their potential contribution to climate change? Ocean drilling has killed the Gulf of Mexico and if they start in the Artic, best of luck there.
Is the argument just against the carbon tax system? Or am I missing something?
The week has been filled, and it’s only Thurs, with NWO type news of vehicle control (V2V), Freemasons supposedly meeting in Japan to put the finishing touch on their NWO push. (Not sure of that one.) And now the so-called voluntary DNA testing of all employees. It’s frightening when you understand how deep and wide DNA testing can go and I don’t mean just the monetary consideration for employees.
But the one bright candle in the dark–ANARCHISTS making life better for no cost when municipalities don’t. GO! GO! GO! Anarchists. Something positive. Yeah!
In regard to Anarchist Portland Pothole Fixers, this subscriber sees them as Anarchist Scab Pothole Fixers. Aren’t the folks on the city payroll who do fix potholes members of a labor union, i.e. people with a decent paycheck, health benefits, a pension down the road, etc? Why not simply organize the community to protest and demand that unemployed folks be hired as city workers to fix all the back-logged potholes? And also demand that this increased payroll be paid for by a federal tax on all Wall Street transactions (with the added benefit of thereby slowing down wild speculation in stocks and derivatives, the cause of the 2008 crash)? And while the protesters are in this new radical mode, why not ask for an increase in taxes only on the super-wealthy, i.e. the only “people” who have seen any benefit from the past 40 years of governmental policies.
I’m afraid that Mr. Corbett’s wholeheartly exuberant endorsement of the scab pothole fixers reveals what is regressive in his anarchistic “community” outlook approach. Sure, government – when run by the greed-in-their-DNA bourgeoisie – will make you more and more miserable. The idea is to develop an understanding of the CLASS dynamics underlying the whole rotten capitalist system, to understand that the so-called 99% is essentially THE WORKING CLASS, and to then ACT IN THE INTEREST OF YOUR CLASS. And scab labor never acted in the interest of the working class.
What’s next – Anarchist Teachers to replace laid off teachers? Anarchist Firefighters to replace laid off firefighters? Anarchist Nurses…….?
At the core of anarchism is statelessness. Why would you equate anarchism (or acting independently and spontaneously organizing) with failed statist concepts, like protesting and demanding the state to do something it OUGHT TO BE DOING ANYWAY?
The tax is collected for this very purpose, the infrastructure is in state of disarray, there’s a bunch of people being payed with “taxpayer’s money” to do something which they are obviously not doing. And people should take to the streets and demand something better be done or else… some evil anarchists will trash the Main street?
While you’re at making demands, why not demand a decrease of taxes ALL ACROSS THE BOARD and lessening the reach of the failed socialist state? Why not rewrite the tax code so it fits in under 70.000 pages?
Anarchist teachers? Would they NOT indoctrinate children? Great, bring’em on. Would those firefighters and nurses save lives? Great, bring’em on. There’s a bunch of people in need of help, that’s for damn sure, I’m sure not one anarchist nurse would go to waste.
This examples shows one thing perfectly: one does not need a state to fix nor build the goddamn roads.

I would guess more than 90% of the community feel they belong to one religion or another.
I personally feel i belong to the Muslim religion, and I have shared that with everyone many times before.
The point I want to get to is, and many people might disagree with me and shoot me down after these comments.
Religion as it stands today (and I mean all religions) is the biggest lie there is. It is as big and baseless as Santa Claus, or Ghosts! No one can prove that a super being (God) created the entire solar system and mankind in 6 days or even 6,000 years. yet around 90% believe in god. So, it is only natural for us to believe in other BS stories, just as kids will believe in the tooth fairy, ghosts under the bed, and speaking to imaginary friends.
Personally, I went through the journey when i lost my believe in religion, and joined the Atheist crowd (headed by the master priest Richard Dawkins) and after doing the research, i discovered that they are in the business of converting people from worshiping god, into worshiping the STATE and its priests “The Scientists” (The problem is, The climate change lie proves that Scientists are just as corrupt as politicians – what do you know, they are human too.)
So, at the end, i discovered that humans have the need to belong, and although i don’t believe in religion as it stands today, I do want to belong to the same group as my family, and friends, and others in my life, so, to belong to this “big lie” called religion is unavoidable.
So, after further research, i discovered that the base of all religions is “Do No Evil”, and that works for me, and the minute you make sure that religion is “personal” relationship between a person and their god, then it works quite well.
So, I am now back to being a Muslim (based on the original teaching that was not rewritten by politicians – basically “Do No Evil”, and if it contradicts with that, then i don’t do it.
For me, this is the basic first step of “breaking the spell” that the Powers that shouldn’t be have over me. I hope others can benefit from my experience.

I, for one, don’t mind saying that I am religious–Mormon, no less (gasp!)–and I have seen miracles in my own life and the lives of others, and had private prayers answered in very specific ways, so I will have to respectfully disagree that religion is the biggest lie. As they say, “the truth is out there.” You just have to keep on looking until you find it. There are definitely falsehoods taught all over the place, so the most important thing is to learn how to communicate with God, to let Him communicate with you, and then to follow what He tells you to do, no matter what others think. Salaam.

ha! You caught that backdrop too! Only in D.C., the armpit of the Nation. (When there in the 80’s, the police stole from me twice, I got beat-up by a dozen thugs, and weekly had to deal with theft. The street crime was so bad, I finally left. My roommate/buddy in business at the time went on to Hollywood…I see him in some TV shows and movies now.)

ANECDOTE – My buddy/roommate in D.C. had a great sense of humor. In the early 80’s, we sold designer jeans on street corners (sometimes 5k-10k worth a week), but mostly in black neighborhoods because white people don’t buy stuff on a street corner. One late night, Terry and I go into a black Pennsylvania neighborhood bar where the bartender openly had a 45 on his hip. We were asking around for corner locations. Having long blond hair I stayed quiet while Terry (black) asked questions. Later, when the moment was right, Terry turns to me in mock-anger yelling “What yu say bout my Mama?”…then starts laughing as eyes turned to me and my underwear changed colors.

The news has just stated about the westminster gunman/knifeman/hit and run – they haven’t decided which label yet, just insinuating all 3 but the prime minister was unharmed. I was automatically waving my false flag when i came across a guardian article showing the terror drill on the Thames on Sunday! Convenient and somewhat familiar set of events. Just wondered what your thoughts are on what freedom us brits will have curtailed next?
