Interview 1137 – James Perloff on The Truth About the Spanish-American War

Although it gets short shrift in the history textbooks, in many ways the modern American empire can find its origins in the Spanish-American War. Today we talk to James Perloff of JamesPerloff.com about his article on the war, “Trial Run for Interventionism,” and how the bankers used their media and political connections to launch the war and introduce foreign interventionism to the American psyche.

Re Carroll Quigley: Joseph Plummer’s Tragedy and Hope 101 takes away the breathlessness that comes from just picking up the original 1300-page book by Quigley. The latter is in large part overly detailed and VERY boring. Plummer gives us the picture in just 200 pages. Highly recommend this for people who want to understand US foreign policy from the Spanish American War forward. Critical stuff — and you can get it as an e-reader.

Great interview. The parallels to today are fascinating.

Yes, superlative interview and the pattern of false flags, or at the very least tendentious misrepresentations that blame the victim, as auras preceding all of America’s “modern” wars (surely the Mexican war could be added at some point, with a bit of similar research no?) could not be clearer. Thanks James and James.

The control of history is quite powerful!

Facts and Fakes About Cuba (1897), mentioned in the interview, is a great period piece in my opinion. It can be freely downloaded from Archive dot org on the following url:

Also, it should be mentioned that Frnklin Delano Rooselvelt’s direct paternal line – which was somewhat distant to Theodore Roosevelt’s, though closely allied – made all of its wealth in Sugar Refining in New York and New Jersey.

They were big recipients of the the Sugar Trust, which was the first big Trust that was attacked by the so called ‘Trust Busters’, which was a fake movement, also driven by the Rockefellers to give the impression that they were being ‘broken up’; which they weren’t.

By publicly being ‘broken up’, they just got more sophisticated conglomerant structures, using their wonderful new class of corporate lawyers – on large retainers, most distant relatives such as Stetson, Jennings, Russell – to create pyramid structures allowing less capital share ownership in order to retain control of the boards … allowing more capital to be raised by floating further shares, which were used to buy out other industries; most notably, the nascent Pharmaceuticals industry, which was dominated by Yale University – the sphere of the Bonesmen.

Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Great Grandfather was:
    – Jacobus “James” Roosevelt (1760-1847)
New York Sugar Refiner, which was supplied its cheap raw materials from the Carribean slave/wage-slave plantations.

Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Great Great Grandfather was:
    – Isaac Roosevelt (1726-1794)
Pioneer of NY sugar refining, and an avid Federalist politician. It would seem that the Fedaralists at some point decided to CREATE two diametrically opposed sides of the political spectrum (left-right), and to use the Republican Democratic party as raw material, and the Civil War as a catalyst for the split.

Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Maternal Great Grandfather was:
    – Warren Delano Jr. (1809-1898)
Senior Partner and Chief of Operations of Russell & Co., the Skull & Bones related Opium Trading empire of Samuel Russel, second cousin of William H. Russell (co-founder of S&B with Alphonso Taft), which was the largest American trading house in China, and which banked all of its real profits in London to keep the massive real profits away from the Federal Govt duty/tax reach. They then used this money to buy out the Federal Government, and staff it using societies such as Skull & Bones.

F.D.R was clearly not anti-corporate, though the trash media and the takeover of academia have allowed the myth of FDR to reverberate, even towards latter carbon copies, such as Barack Obama, who has served almost the exact same role as FDR in modern history: Corporate Consolidation always occurs during the crash, whilst corporate power is built on the bubble using mostly Republican party chess pieces. The consolidation is where all the REAL power is built in my opinion.

The Roosevelt’s made all their money in Opium and Sugar:
    – Drug slavery
    – Offshore wage slavery mostly in sugar.
…good Democrats and Republicans on both the Franklin and Theodore sides… just playing the Hegelian game of using the Federal troops to service their corporate empires. A century+ later, and nothing changes.

As the interview made clear, the Spanish-American War was the beginning of the U.S. entry into the sphere of the Pilgrims Society, the mother of all globalist hives that is never really scrutinized, even in the ‘truth movement’: It should be scrutinized more, because it sits at the center of the Rockefeller-Rothschild-Monarchy modern western power establishment.

Great interview James, I love Perloff’s work. Keep it up guys.
Get him on more often if you can. I love the historical sketches. We need to publicize the historical context of modern events, in order to inform the uninformed 90%+ that events like 9/11, are really nothing new, just the same old play book being used time and again.

    • stevekelly911 says:

CORRECTION: Warren Delano Jr (1809-1898), was FDR’s maternal grandfather, not great grandfather.

Opium was much fresher in the young FDR’s mind, as grandpa-opium died in 1898, when FDR was only 16, so FDR probably had many fond memories of grandpa’s ‘fireside chats’ (pardon the pun), reminiscing on how the British Navy protected the family fortunes, first by breaking the BEIC monopoly, allowing Russel & Co. market entry, and then using gunships, to force open the Chinese ports during the opium wars.

And people wonder why NATO troops are now to be permanently in Afghanistan! H-E-R-O-I-N, nothing changes, because how else would HSBC and Co., make their real profit, and pay their unpublished corporate bonuses?

This was such a superb presentation of history. Thank you so much for having James Perloff present this. Just excellent.
