Today James talks to Claire Bernish, an independent reporter for The Pontiac Tribune and The Anti-Media, about her recent report, “Nestle Pays Only $524 to Extract 27,000,000 Gallons of California Drinking Water.” We talk about the (expired) permit that has allowed Nestle to pump the water from the San Bernardino National Forest for decades, the effect it is having on California’s drought-ravaged ecosystem, the growing movement to draw awareness to the issue, and reddit’s censorship of Bernish’s viral article.

the only thing i can imagine that would render nestle’s actions moot is the exposure of who is causing the drought and why.
that is the correct question.

Nestle is among the elite of the most grotesque corporate players. They’re on some children’s fairytale villain level of greed and treachery. Abby Martin did a great job calling them out numerous times on Breaking The Set. The episode where she responded to a Nestle corporate PR presentation they provided in lieu of an actual person was pretty memorable. The figures in Claire’s story are so staggering and unbelievable it doesn’t surprise me that it went viral in the way it did. Hopefully she can manage to build off of that.
I don’t get it. Went to the link provided. Lots of complaining but no real action to be seen by the users of Reddit. There are a lot of silly complaints apparently given via the Reddit system. (don’t use it, sooo….) Reddit DOES NOT CARE, people. Are its users so hopelessly dependent on the site that they can’t pull the plug and simply leave it behind? Let the stupid thing go to the dogs as it should for such blatant actions. What happened to boycotting the use of products that hurt humanity and the media creeps who continually censor free speech–a First Amendment right!
Nestle is a known abuser of water rights in both the US and Canada. They stated on national media at least 2 years ago that “water is not a right.” At that time they had everyone who was actually listening all over their butts. Do none of the Reddit “whiners” know this or even listen to the real news? It’s the users that should be called to task for a complete and total lack of political chutzpah. WTF? Reddit can do as it pleases; it’s a corporation.
I listen to Storm Clouds Gathering from time to time. They are now experiencing the same kind of censorhip Claire and Luke Rudowski of We Are Change experienced, that is: Google / You Tube, etc. are demonizing videos that challenge the official narrative in serious ways.
Storm Clouds investigated and discovered that Youtube had altered their terms to extend their blacklist to include “Controversial or sensitive subjects and events, including subjects related to war, political conflicts, natural disasters and tragedies, even if graphic imagery is not shown”. So basically news is off limits, any topic that matters is off limits.
This is much worse than the New York Times not letting groups pay for a one-page ad in the paper.
I can say this, people do not want the right to water. They prove it all the time by buying any brand of bottled water. I can’t believe anybody can be surprised that most of it is just bottled tap water, how dumb can the people be? Filtering it does not do anything to make it better either. Anybody can prove that to themselves by doing any research into it. OOhhh, unless you think they have some expensive high tech filters there. Any filter you buy for home use as far better than theirs, but still, why filter in the first place? Short of RO, nothing you do, or they do will make the water any better,.. unless you believe a few particles of dirt will make you die. Even RO will not remove fluoride, none whatsoever, but it will remove most other stuff. I and lots of people have been for ages telling people that their tap water is better quality than bottled water and it is easy to prove. Shame on you humans!! Why pay for crap water and at same time make access to better water expensive, difficult, or even illegal? You make that decision, you have the power, and you know what to do to fix the problem. It is absolutely simple to fix the problem, takes no additional effort,.. it takes less effort actually!
