    Alfred and James,

The reason Americans who live outside the US are giving up their citizenship is mostly likely NOT because they have to pay double taxes. The foreign income tax exclusion excludes the first $100k-ish of income from being taxes. I think you’ll find that this wave of expatriation has to do with the increasing inability of Americans to bank and do business in other countries due to FATCA. Also, the tax forms that one have to fills out whether one “owes” tax or not are a royal pain in the butt. There are lots of articles online about all of this.

The income tax’s purpose is not to raise revenue. It’s purpose is control. FATCA is the stepping stone to world taxation. It is also part of financial repression acting as a currency control.

On the 2D chessboard from a PR point of view the United States as symbolic of a freedom-loving, free enterprise, free speech, free media, free technology hollywoodien utopia ensuring liberty and justice for everyone around the globe is being deliberately demolished in favor of an ostensibly safer, pacifistic, intelligent, scrupulous and more socialistic world as embodied by the brawny brainy benevolent Putin working out with BRICS.

The U.S. is being portrayed as a flailing blood-thirsty mendacious beast in need of euthanasia for the collective good of the entire world population.

This along with the fact that in some cases from a fiscal point of view its just too expensive to be “American” is what I perceive to be the reason for the reported increase in renounced U.S. citizenship.

The formerly perceived if not real benefits of being “American” seem to have evaporated and replaced by a shadowy fema camp vampire seeking to suck the lifeblood out of its citizens wherever they be.

And, I mean, who wants to identify with a has-been?

And I’m wondering, besides the fact that BRICS are environmentally sustainable, to what extent their self-appointed missions ressemble Agenda 21?
