Regarding the celebrate life video, beautiful! In the midst of overpowering repressive, destructive forces, it’s sometimes difficult to find, much less retain, one’s own sense of personal agency, but the need is never greater because of how pathological the powers that shouldn’t be are. It’s truly amazing how simply noticing and appreciating cherry blossoms is an act of personal agency and so incredibly spirit (life force) nourishing!
I am in the early stages of establishing a daily life-practice in which I write down in a daily journal a few “little” things I notice, appreciate, and/or take delight in, whether an overheard exchange between a parent and his or her child, a peer-to-peer smile “transaction” between myself and a stranger, or catching a glimpse of a lunar eclipse. Beauty abounds! Thank you for your reminder to celebrate this brief and ever briefer life, James!
Thanks James. Gary just said all that I would have and I`m glad he`s taking full advantage of his life force.
Thanks for that, and let me second that idea of keeping a journal (or even just jotting down on a schedule or calendar) a few things that you’re appreciative of each day. It’s a simple act but it really helps you to see your life in a different light and helps you to notice those things that you are thankful for.
