There has to be a bunch of old men psychopathic and or sycophantic who have to die off for the forces of peace and diplomacy to strive, don’t blame the engineer at Raytheon, blame the old money monsters that won’t die with their insane ideas (although I suggest any engineer working at Raytheon to look back at his/her old textbooks from their ethics in tech/science, ya know that easy course you laughed through that was just 2 hours a week? Maybe what’s in it will be more enlightening once having been employed into building your own doom.

How accurate is the SIPRI data?
That’s a good question, michael2, and not one that is without an answer. But in the interest of “teach a man to fish” I will point out that relevant information about where the numbers come from is footnoted in the report itself, and those sources can themselves be found online to determine how the numbers are arrived at. If anyone is interested in taking this on as a research project it might be instructive.
But will I need a fishing licence?
I’ll dip my toe in SIPRI and see.

At this juncture in the global governance paradigm, I would wager that there is very little correlation between upticks in military spending and future likelihood of conflict. Grotesque military budgets are reflexive at this point to feed the military industrial complex beast while mainlining rich profits to cronies. From a social engineering standpoint, siphoning resources into the war machine black hole means less for the disempowered masses.
The upticks also are in line with the construction of NWO regional governmental bodies. For instance, in 2011 Saudi Arabia initiated the formation of the Gulf Cooperation Council described as “a Regional Intergovernmental Political and Economic Union consisting of all Arab states of the Persian Gulf, except for Iraq”. A “unified military” is one of the major goals as is a common currency. As well, there is the usual across the board harmonization of regulations we’ve seen with the EU and the North American SPP (foreshadowing the NAU).

It seems regional bodies will share in the global militarization process and this could also be why Japan has changed its war policies.
Substantial conflicts between the “superstates” don’t make a lot sense from the elites’ perspective given the fragility of the global economy and the potential setbacks to the NWO infrastructure build out.
