Well, I guess I’ve been watching Corbett Report too long, because I understood pretty much all of this as I’ve been watching and reading about the Afghan papers. Of course, I also remembered all the clips from his previous episodes, so that may explain it. Thanks for training me well James.
I think these are a tool that we can use against the establishment. As you call them, my “normy†friends are very resistant when I talk about how we’re being lied to – “Oh, you always think they’re lying to us.†Well yeah!! But with these, I asked one of them recently, if they lied like this, what aren’t they lying about? And a normy who thinks I am crazy for everything from the 60s assassinations to Assad gas attacks relented a little and admitted “you got a point.†It’s a small step, but I’ll take it. Take their tools they are trying to use to keep their narrative going and use it against them to wake people up to what is really going on.

You might have also remembered that Col. Prouty was adamant that the “ pentagon papers†were also classic A CIA fake to make everyone feel better that they it was just a problem of bad management.
So now [Propaganda] has been changed to [Establishment Whitewash BS]? Oh yes, noting the more finely categorized propaganda.
Actually bombs and invasion have been used to pacify the violent leadership of a nation; Japan nuked and Germany invaded WW2 for instance. Of course those didn’t need to happen either, except for the violent leadership of the Powers that shouldn’t be.
On a smaller scale, a few grannies (and many others) have stopped the violent actions of those who broke into their houses by using violence (shooting them).
Enjoyed the clear writing of Kit Knightly [thanks] who explained that the Afghanistan conflict was not really about pacification but simply money via several avenues.
Clearly no one should ever trust a USA govt official. The next one may just do the opposite; even if that may be a good thing, the next one after that… With such a long history of back stabbing, note the Native Americans, it is amazing anyone would make a deal with uncle sam at all.
I’m just around the 20 minute mark but wanted to comment.
@19:38 summed it up perfectly. If we were only more efficient at killing people, then our investment would have been worth it.
The WaPo was attempting at whitewash of the U.S. military adventures, but I think the actual image this WaPo piece unintentionally paints is of dehumanization. The war is made to look like an investment, and human lives be damned. The problem was we didn’t overthrow governments and genocide populations in the right way. This is such a psychopathic mindset that is being displayed once again. Maybe that is a good takeaway from this piece. It gives us another example of the mindset of the media-military-industrial complex.

“Being Broadcast from Sunny Japan”, James, is perhaps, referring to the lack of Geoengineering there, as I have found Japan to be among the healthiest places to live (based on a number of searches for “Healthiest places to live”). It is a fact that people generally feel better and think better when they get some Sun, yet here in the USA we are told to use toxic Sun Screen to “protect” us from the Sun.
Yep “We” (Citizens of the Western Empire) are the engine that keeps this Empire going. Without the ability to manipulate the masses, Russia, China, nor the Western Empire would exist. “We”, like the people of Russia and China are manipulated through a masterfully well planned web of lies and deceit. Breaking that web of lies could indeed make the world a better place, yet we don’t want to trade a dominate Western Empire for a dominate Eastern Empire.
That said, I see the decentralizing of the crytpo currency “Cardano” as a potential means to provide the world with an open choice world currency. We know that those who control the existing Empires use their control of the money supplies to do it. Thus, “We” must take that control away from them, and decentralize it.
Note that even in the world where “he who has the gold rules”, it was possible to get paid by those that had the gold and thus make ones way out of poverty. With FRN’s created out of nothing by the elites, for the elites, the poor will always be poor because they are the last to get the watered down paper.
I’d been putting this off. I didn’t feel like more bad news, more manipulation, more disagreement with my entourage…

It is indeed deplorable to think that this war has been going on for this long and I almost have an “Alice in Wonderland” feeling when I hear politicians state that the war should not end for “national security” reasons. Americans in general still don’t question this narrative, or if they do they state vague generalities like “it’s all for the oil” or other nonsense without looking any further into the matter.
Thank you James for laying out all of the reasons why the MIC and the Deep State are still supporting U.S. and NATO occupation and this certainly gives insight into these issues.
I hope, someday, larger numbers of people begin to question the narrative instead of listening to the usual suspect’s propagandized psychobabble.

If the Washington Post is now publishing material demonstrating that US officials have been “following the same talking points for 18 years,†emphasizing how they are “making progress,†“especially†when the war is “going badly,†shouldn’t the paper acknowledge that it has been cheerleading this same line for all of those 18 years? Doesn’t it have a responsibility to examine how it served as a primary vehicle for those officials to spread these same “talking points†to spin the coverage in the desired fashion?

The Pentagon Papers about the Vietnam War were also written and released to reframe the debate in order to absolve the CIA and place the blame with the State Dept and the civilian Pentagon. Daniel Elsberg is a CIA asset.
This was so dense with information that I had to give it a second listen immediately after the first time.
Its all lies and deception. If it comes from the lamestream media, it’s either a mistake or deliberate propagnada! Even network tv series are chock full of propagnada and virtue signaling. It’s all wrapped up now. Unless you totally stop paying attention to “mainstream” sources, you have to question each and everything you see. Especially if it comes from a co-opted source like Wapo or the NYT, much less from CNN or MSNBC.
