Earth to Trump: America Is ALREADY A Socialist Country
So it seems that something in Trump’s State of the Union speech has gotten the MAGA crowd all excited.
Was it this?
“My administration has acted decisively to confront the world’s leading state sponsor of terror: the radical regime in Iran. It is a radical regime. They do bad, bad things.”
Or this?
“Two weeks ago, the United States officially recognized the legitimate government of Venezuela — (applause) — and its new President, Juan Guaidó. (Applause.)”
Well, yes, probably. But the money quote that government cheerleaders will be shoving down your throat for years to come is no doubt this:
“Tonight, we renew our resolve that America will never be a socialist country.”
Ahhh, that’s it. Music to the ears of any freedom-loving, libertarian-minded opponent of technocratic government control, right? Right. At the very least it was enough to inspire some congratulatory articles from Trump’s base and launch a funny meme or two.
But hey, wait a minute. I’ve seen politicians lie about things before. Could it be possible—and bear with me, I’m just spitballing here—that this statement might be inaccurate? Why, yes. Yes, it could. So let’s examine a few pesky little details that contain some harsh truths that the red cap crowd doesn’t want to hear.

The economy of the US depends on:
a) monopolies,
b) state-sponsored-companies,
c) military,
d) special treatments by politicians,
e) corruption,
f) stealing resources from foreign countries,
h) no responsibility for ecological and health damages,
j) minimal worker’s rights
k) oil-dollar,
l) all of the above
Solution
I don’t know if anyone gets it.
The monopolies are predator/capitalistic
State-sponsored socialistic
Military is socialistic/totalitarian
Special treatments is corruption
corruption is criminal
–(caused by too much money in the politics and government)
stealing resources is criminal/war/totalitarian
no responsibility is criminal/capitalistic
minimal rights is predator/capitalistic
oil-dollar is predator/war/totalitarian
So it is all mixed.
As I see it: The US is a criminal totalitarian state that is a predator to other states (and its citizens). It pretends to be a democracy or a free market, but there is only corruption.
How I see a free market
In a free market, people can choose what they want to eat or even grow. They can choose whether they want to work on a project. And they can help decide in the work that is to be done. As soon one person has more rights than the other person, there is no free market.
The predatory capitalism that we see today gives the “leader” more rights than the workers. Ever wondered why someone stupid is the “leader”? Who decided that? In a free market the workers would choose a coach for leading them, and a manager for managing the projects. And this could change when the project changes.
And who decides what you can make or not make? It is the government and the banks. You can not build a house or a car without having their support. And you can only get the bank’s support if you are working for the government or a big company. You can not build stuff the easy way, because it is patented by some idiot, or make something useful because you have to follow all kinds of unnecessary rules. These rules and patents are held by big companies to stop the free market.
If products are not safe, or when their origin and ingredients are hidden from the public, these products are part of a criminal market.
This is different from a free market, as you as user/buyer has no clue what is given to you.
Why should you buy something that can make you ill or addicted?
Why should you buy something that is stolen or broken?
Why should we buy i-phones build by workers that rather want
to suicide themselves?
Why should we dump toxic stuff in India?
Or remove all the fish from the sea?
This is all part of a criminal market.
And I think that needs to stop.
Note: “criminal” has no relationship with the government’s rules.
Maybe it is possible to setup a free market via the internet,
that also identifies the criminal part of the market.
It could combine with sponsorship and contributions,
and friendly discussions about potential problematic elements.
The discussions can be friendly if they offer solutions.

This is all sad but true, but the good news is I heard on YT that Trump is not real, it’s a mask and played by like a dozen different actors! ). Now you may think that this is all just an aberration. That the overarching, all-controlling, all-seeing nanny state is a perversion of the “constitutional republic†that once existed. That, with a little luck and with the right dictator in charge of the system, the country can be returned to the vision of the founding fathers. That America can be made great again, if you will.
Well, I have some bad news for you on that front, dear Trump supporter: This isn’t an aberration. This is what government is. It is its nature. There is no political process that makes it better. You cannot vote yourself to freedom any more than slaves could vote their way off the plantation…
…Government, whatever form it may take,..Its very existence depends on coercion, domination and control.
I was just about to comment on this part of Corbett’s piece. James really threw down the gauntlet on this one. This block of text is probably one of my favorites of Corbett’s work. Cutting the BS and telling it how it is.
I enjoyed watching Corbett’s subscriber video with the snow sculptures. Beautiful. I could almost smell the food! It made it seem like colder weather wasn’t all that bad.
Coincidently, on Wednesday when it got up to almost 80 degrees here in the Dallas area and I was working in my garden, I also watched Urban Farmer Curtis Stone who is up there in Calgary. The cold did not seem inviting to me. His cheeks were pretty red.

Parts were very interesting. Around the 31:30 minute mark, “skim milk” comes up. Geez! “Skim milk can not be called skim milk, unless vitamins are added”.
The last 5 minutes is hopeful. More states are going towards “food freedom laws” as a result of the trend where people are buying local and also growing their own food.

If socialism is defined by government coercion, domination and control (in the name of “the people,†of course, i.e., “democratic socialism,â€), then what do we call it when there are:
-Government agents dedicated to stopping farmers from selling raw milk?
-Enforcers of the state whose job it is to stop people feeding the homeless?
-Government licensing requirements for driving, fishing, cutting hair, getting married, selling lemonade, blogging, or engaging in literally thousands of other everyday activities?

America isn’t Socialist, it’s fascist. Many assume that socialism means authoritarianism, but that isn’t correct. What America is … “a government which is run by a small group of large industrialists and financial lords…with the pretence of democratic machinery.â€

OK, I won’t bother you with meaningless political blather.
Definition proposed in the article is “American” definition of socialism. Even bastion of truthiness Wikipedia has a better one.
I would say there are two kinds of socialism: one that is practiced in democratic countries, the other was/is in socialistic/communistic countries.
In first case proponents demand just more crumbs from masters table, i.e. redistribution of wealth.
In the second case they tried to get rid of masters altogether (well they were wrong, they just get new red elites).
The main difference between the two is their relation to private property.
It was funny to me when I read a comment above:

After promising beginning we got complete misunderstanding where “more rights” is coming from.
Non-democratic socialists wouldn’t have that kind of problem.
If something is not questioning private property it can be named socialism only with the use of barneysian trickery.
Final citation from Proudhon is nice, but I like his “Property is Theft” more.
