Family Removes Alexa Devices After a Stranger in Another Town Heard Everything They Were Saying
Amazon explains how Alexa recorded a private conversation and sent it to another user
Amazon’s Alexa won’t pass on recordings if you don’t set up call features
Yes, Alexa is recording mundane details of your life, and it’s creepy as hell

When I saw this Activist Post story in the “Recommended Reading” section yesterday I actually didn’t take time to read it, but I read the title out loud to my family.
It’s of course the younger generation who has no clear notion of privacy.
I simply explained to my son that privacy was one of those things that is only missed when one day your testicles show up on the net. Then privacy suddenly seems important.
I believe I witnessed a momentary glimmer of understanding in his eyes… even if he shrugged it off…
the battle’s far from won…
and TPTSB can bide their time as the dinosaurs die out…
Hello James…
You say at minute 5:55..
“No one would have thought we would be willingly paying for it”
That is critical to us loosing the war.. I know i keep going back to Human Nature (behavior).. But this is critical.. they have studied us, and now they are using us to enslave us.
That said, Alex is the lesser threat… It is your mobile phone that is the real threat. It is recording you all the time and it is in your pocket all the time… mine tells me how many times i snore at night and even tries to stop me snoring (application called Sleep as Android.)
But I am a strong believer it is not the technology that is a threat, as technology happened for the last 10 thousands of years… it is who controls that technology that is the issue.
Chinese had gun powder for 100’s of years and it was not a real problem..
The European discovered it, and soon enough we had Hiroshima.
VoiceOfArabi says:
… it is who controls that technology that is the issue.
Just imagining…supposing…
What if a Hacker got into the Alexa System and perverted its responses?

“Alexa, Play Country Western.”
Then “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” plays.
I am waiting for the day.

What if rather then playing “twinkle twinkle” your smart house was hacked to defrost and refreeze your freezer repeatedly or lower the cooking temp of your oven so you end up with food borne illness?

…good side getting rusty
Actually I’d go a step further than just not having one in my house.
If I spot one in a friends house, I’ll stop visiting them, but not before I ask them “You have one of those creepy devices in your home?”
…that 48″ box in your living room is far creepier Octium.
Sorcery as sure as we’re all sitting here.
I haven’t had one in my home in 15 years, and the difference in my mental clarity/contentment is astonishing.
I (exclusively) pick my own reading and video content, usually based on the direction of previous books.
The box in my living room is pretty harmless. It’s an analog model and about the only thing it picks up these days is the Big Bang (As in the Universe, not the US Shitcom)
If I was planning on watching TV, I have worked out it would be cheaper to buy a projector – that way I could just plaster over the hole each time I feel the need to throw a brick at the lying bastards.
lol, I hear ya’
I don’t even know anyone who has one of these creepy things. Luckily for me, the friends that I have that are dumb enough to buy one are too poor to do so. A happy coincidence. JimBob who don’t count brains for friendship, as honesty will do for him. And not bogarting the joint.
“Willing to pay”, really, what do you think Hollywood movies and Netflix are all about?
America is rife with us paying for our propaganda.
Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, all make content for viewer consumption, and it ALL is nothing but Zionist Marxist propaganda. Under all the smiles are carefully crafted narratives: Anti-Christian white male, pro-open borders, multiculturalism, war, Israel, consumerism/capitalism…
And even below that there are subtle messages about drug use, fatalism, end of the world narratives, trusting of technology and those who sell it…
We are in a world where the powerful make us pay for the tools of our own destruction, and this is not referring to the future, this started in the 50’s, and look at the shit hole America has become.
It started long before the fifties, but bravo none the less.
Spot on post!!!
Yeah, Samual Adams was before the fifties if I remember correctly. JimBob who still likes the post but just has to be an ass every now and then. Why? Who knows.
lol…lovin’ it Shot… Cheers!
On another note, and I cant say it enough:
Thank you James Corbett for this wide open forum
This is a good point. This reminds me of Edward Bernays and modern propaganda and advertising. They have made these devices “cool” and “hip” to have. I have a TV so I have noticed how in the last few years there has been a bombardment of ads for Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and all the other variations that are now available. There has been a watershed moment, and these devices have officially become mainstream and now seem to be in a lot of families’ homes, just live TV’s are.
Along the same thought of ‘buying in’ to our own enslavement are the DNA kits that everyone is thirsting over. Particularly within the last couple years I have noticed a perpetual bombardment of advertising for 23andMe, Ancestry.com, and the other DNA snatching kits. They have been made trendy just like the Amazon Alexa and everyone needs one to be up-to-date on the latest trend.
“…Particularly within the last couple years I have noticed a perpetual bombardment of advertising for 23andMe, Ancestry.com, and the other DNA snatching kits….”
Ahhhh!
That explains why my mother suddenly asked me to buy one and use it! It seemed like a total non-sequitur to our (phone) conversation…
The eugencists have come a long way. When I was growing up everyone wanted fashionable jeans.
Now everyone’s craving fashionable genes…
Maybe the only thing my Mom taught me was disdain for authority… She may’ve had a weakness for cult figures though; she was a personal friend of Abby Hoffman’s…
but I know she’s not the least bit concerned about genetic diseases… want’s to confirm that aristocratic blood tie, I’m afraid…
and the real irony is that
during our extended hippy period both sugar and television were banned in the commune…
funny too I’ve turned out to be a hamster…
James Corbett exclaimed (and I agree):
“We have to fight against the normalization of this technology”
That being said. Let’s break out the fish eye lens.
A very simple question which (of course!!!) is absolutely BEGGED here:
Q) What (primarily) are they monitoring our reaction to?
A) TELEVISION
The “Alexa”, “Twitter”, and “Facebook” monitors gage our reactions to TV propaganda, and then adjust TV content accordingly.
Giving up Alexa with out tossing your TV doesn’t accomplish a damn thing.
Why do we look at just one component at a time here? …and NEVER at how it all fits together. TV advanced the control agenda by quantum leaps.
Watch for the masonic hand signal (1:20) here as the child awakens:

“Got in the house like a pigeon from hell
Threw sand in our eyes and descended like flies”
– The Pretenders
James I’m glad you also heard/read about this Oregon horror story.
When I heard it a few days ago I thought about you immediately and was going to write a comment here about it, but you beat me to the punch!
Along the same line…
Am I the only one in the universe who has been receiving Privacy Policy e-mail notices almost daily?
It seems every ‘Tom Dick and Harry’ company (not just the obvious giants) are trying to cover their asses by sending them out?
They go something like this:
“You may be aware that on 25 May 2018, new laws were introduced in Europe known as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
As a result, we have recently reviewed and updated our Privacy Policy in relation to how we collect and handle the personal information of our users, customers and registered contacts…”
and then the legalese starts to kick in in full force.
I can’t be the only one can I?
This article shows at least 2 instances where David Hogg committed fraud. In one instance he admitted was at home and had to ride down to the school on his bicycle to get video of the event.
In the second it’s shown that he recorded the video at 9:32am when the shooting happened at about 2pm. I don’t know how legit this site is, but the article points out some interesting and provable fraud that Hogg has committed.
https://conservativepush.com/2018/03/watch-david-hogg-caught-lying-about-where-he-was-during-parkland-shooting/
In these two you can see that there were more shots fired even after Cruz started blending in with other students to leave the building. This would have been the point at which, had he been the shooter, he would have already ditched the gun, so he couldn’t have fired anymore shots at this point. This basically proves that he was not the shooter since we all know there was only 1 shooter. No one can challenge that there was only 1 shooter since that’s the official narrative.

Huxley knew we would embrace our slavery. He probably helped write the programs used to lobotomize us.
Yes “enlill”, Auldous was an insider, but evil? I can’t say.
I’ve carefully perused Manley P. Hall, Albert Pike, Helena Blavatsky and many others. The writings are much more open and outright the further we go back.
I’m sure they’d like most of that old stuff to disappear.
Did Auldous know what was coming? He most certainly did. Was he indulging in “predictive programming”? In Huxley’s case I would say no. He usually presented his knowledge in the form of a warning, or sometimes in a very indifferent, “matter of fact” kind of way.
He certainly took a bites at the academic hands that fed him, including, most remarkably in the final chapters of “Doors of Perception”. Was he doing so in order to promote psychedelics?…again, I cant say. Some of these authors (like Quiggly) were more or less historians.
Orwell’s “Animal Farm” really did it for me. Honest, strait-forward, and raw.
I always felt Huxley was warning us. Though he was convinced that over-population was a problem. I only view it as a problem if it’s all stupid people, so I guess it would be a problem with me as well since they breed so much faster! JimBob who thinks it would have been cool to trip with Huxley and Hunter S. Thompson, but not in Las Vegas. Too many bats.
Good point Shot,
Auldous was steadfast on Eugenics/population control.
But I still believe he was warning us. He was just stuck on a mathematical model that was pretty ignorant in my opinion. Populations do not just go up. They find their threshold. As long as their is an abundance of food, there will be an increase in population. JimBob who don’t do no crazy math stuff.
Couldn’t agree more Shot…’genda 21 “stack ’em & pack ’em” program has everyone gaffed.
Take a ride just outside of town fools!
I don’t have one and don’t personally know anyone dumb enough to have one, but apparently such people do exist.
We don’t even allow smartphones in our house unless they’re placed in our Faraday tin or the battery is removed (aside from my phone which has a switch for disabling its transmission capability so I can still use offline apps).
Convenience? I think the ones falling for this crap are just getting more lazy and the sellers of this technology know us well. Nothing smart in my house including me.
Yes you’re right James, how very convenient.
You know what’s even more convenient?
Living in a prison cell. Don’t have to work, don’t have to feed or shelter yourself. Why this is so convenient who could resist?
But there is a place that’s even more convenient then that… A grave.
Nothing to worry about then.
Keep the faith Drazen. It’s all good.
…as long as we go to that bone yard telling it like it is
Gaslight,
You misunderstand, this was not a comment questioning personal “faith”. It was just an amusing observation on selling the idea of convenience and extrapolating it.
Situations and times like these provide tremendous opportunities for individuals to understand themselves and the world around them far better and deep (i.e. True nature of reality). Some will take these opportunities, others will not. So be it.
Those that do will be able to adapt (Not Conform) to what ever comes. Those that don’t will struggle.
Ok, as long as you’re not suicidal (joking)
Peace
Ha Ha. No, it wasn’t a defeatist comment.
I haven’t invested too much time into this issue, but that explanation from Amazon, as pathetic as it sounds, could be true. It all depends on the speech recognition algorithms used and possible bugs in software. I don’t see much point in sending voice recordings to random people, but it does show how utterly useless this technology can be.
Of course, everything else about home spying holds water, it’s as watertight as a submarine. I’m sure this will spread like a wildfire, soon enough these devices will be probably merged with the TV as the centerpiece of any respectable home.
How do we best describe a world where (for most), life without TV is unthinkable?
Pathetic?
…yup
Luckily for ya, I subscribe to the only real newspaper left; The Onion. Today, they address Amazon’s solution to this:
https://www.theonion.com/jeff-bezos-announces-customers-can-delete-all-of-alexa-1826395638?utm_source=TheOnion_Daily_RSS&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=&utm_term=
Personally, I think that Amazon is being quite helpful. JimBob who don’t really know much about being helpful.
JimBob plenty helpful! …he he
Keep pluggin’ brother
Peace to all
Question: What’s the difference in “usefulness†between Alexa and Smart Landline phone models to covert universal monitoring of the general population’s private spaces (their homes)?
An example of this type of product is:
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/panasonic-kx-tgf575s-dect-6-0-expandable-cordless-phone-system-with-digital-answering-system-silver/5779808.p?skuId=5779808
Panasonic – KX-TGF575S DECT 6.0 Expandable Cordless Phone System with Digital Answering System – Silver
“Upgrade your home communication system with these Panasonic cordless phones. This pack includes five handsets for versatile placement in multiple rooms, and the built-in Bluetooth technology lets you link up to two smartphones to answer or make calls. These Panasonic cordless phones have a baby monitor function for peace of mind.â€
Yeap, “link up†to “peace of mind!
Answer: None
But these products also allow “consumers†to actively (mindlessly) choose against Alexa and still “participate†in all the “benefits†on modern “linked-up†communication products.
False choices abound, so all this may be pretty moot.
For everybody even considering buying an Alexa, virtually all of them have their Smart Phone lying around in conveniently handy locations at home or wherever they happen to be (“don’t leave home without it†indeed).
Again, what’s the difference?
As far as consumer consciousness goes, Alexa also serves the purpose of obfuscating the similar function of all these types of devices, creating a deceptive illusion of choice.
Hey VoltaicDude,
BLACK MIRROR SPOILER ALERT!!!!
I’m embarassed to ask you this: have you ever seen the series Black Mirror? In Men Against Fire, the scene before last has the answer to your question “what’s the difference?”.
SPOILER ALERT!!!!!
At the end, Arquette, the sinister psychologist explains to the protagonist, a soldier named Stripe, that he, Stripe, had to validate, accept, sign for, welcome the implantation of the “Mass” brain chip that changes his perception of reality and makes him, among other things, see “the enemy” (normal, innocent human beings) as screeching zombies. If he hadn’t approved, endorsed and accepted the implantation of the brain chip, his mind would’ve rejected it and the chip wouldn’t have worked.
That’s Alexa’s ambassadorial role. First of all Alexa helps like Sophia and Siri to personify this ambiant surveillance technology. Alexa gives us all the opportunity to welcome, pay for, or accept as a gift or for an eminently satisfying and sizeable discount this technology into our homes.
There are enough people who are either gadget geeks, unsuspecting consumers, bored or curious to lauch the fashion of having this sort of “fun” “useful” “interactive” gadget in their home,
normalizing the phenomenon.
Not only does the gadget obfuscate the similar functions of the smart phone and modern technologies and offer false choices
it’s female name gives the less vigilant and skeptical among us the impression of inviting and adopting the surveillance grid as a full-fledged member of the family.
We must embrace it and call it Alexa, as if it were an intimate member of our family and friends,
or our minds will reject it.
At least, according to Arquette.
Alexa plays a very indispensable role in Man’s transition towards transhumanism. The role of ambassador, seductrice, playful invader…
So just for fun, and because I still can for the moment, I’m including a link to a very provocative review of this episode of Black Mirror.
WARNING!! SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT!!! WARNING!
outube.com/watch?v=wMUVdBTuzr4
I said:
“normalizing the phenomenon.”
But I should have said “normalizing the acceptation, welcoming, embracing of this phenomenon”…
in a “What? Are you a paranoid conspiracy theorist??!” sort of way…
and I said “implantation” but I should have said “implant”… late late late, my poor hazy Franglais brain is stuck in limbo at the moment…
and wishes you a very good night nowzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
normalizing the phenomenon.
Normalizing indeed!
So I’m trying to watch a YouTube video as I do from time to time (as there is no competitor that I’m aware of yet that has amassed the sheer volume of videos they have) when one of their annoying ads pops up before they allow me to view the video.
I remember the days long ago when I was forced to watch ads on TV.
That was before I pulled the plug on TV-watching.
So now they are adding this annoying phenomenon to the internet. ðŸ™
Anyway, what is the ad this time?
Pops is sitting on the couch with his two teenage children watching TV and mom is peering at them from behind.
Trying to watch TV that is. You see his children have different tastes than he has. So as they debate what they should all watch together on TV the children lose patience and start to play with their smart devices (phone, tablet).
Pops decides to take charge and place an order with Alexa.
He issues several commands to her in his own smug way.
Mom chimes in shortly after with her series of Alexa commands…
Did someone say ‘normalization’?
Don’t be an idiot? Get rid of Alexa?
On the contrary, some very clever people have decided that shoving Alexa down our impressionable youth’s throats is the smart thing to do!
What could possibly go wrong with installing Alexa in every student residence hall room and student apartment on campus at Saint Louis University (2,300+ Echo Dot smart devices)?
http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/saint-louis-university-installing-amazon-alexa-enabled-devices-in-every-student-living-space-on-campus-300695039.html
Holy …oh my…..What the F*#!!!?!
I bet the college recruiters like that.
I have to laugh at this statement:
“Every minute we can save our students from having to search for the information they need online is another minute that they can spend focused on what matters most: their education.”
Yeah right, like more time for trips to the beer barn or hanging out.
My granddaughter, who now is in her Senior year at college, goes on all kinds of excursions and off-campus party type fun.
While she does fine with academics, her focus is her boyfriend and friends and sports and whims. But I can’t be too critical…at her age I was worse.
