Another ‘Conspiracy’ Confirmed: Khomeini Had A “Secret Channel” With The US

It’s been an open secret that the US organized and enabled two of the three major events in modern Iranian history: the overthrow of the democratically elected Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadegh in 1953 and the Shah’s subsequent reign of terror (and eventual exile). But newly-released documents confirm that the US had a larger role than previously admitted in the third: the Islamic Revolution of 1979.
The documents, reported on last week by the BBC’s Persian Service, confirm that Ayatollah Khomeini was in direct communication with US President Jimmy Carter in the crucial weeks following the Shah’s departure from Iran on January 16, 1979. And, despite vigorous denial by the Iranian government, the records show that Khomeini struck a conciliatory tone with the US government as he attempted to broker his return to the country.
“You will see we are not in any particular animosity with the Americans,” Khomeini wrote in a message to US President Jimmy Carter at the time, part of a series of recently declassified diplomatic cables, policy memos, meeting records and other documents obtained by the BBC. The White House responded that they would not be adverse to the possibility of a change in the Iranian constitution, a tacit acceptance of the overthrow of the shah and institution of a republic. Khomeini, in return, assured Carter that: “The oil flow will continue after the establishment of the Islamic Republic.”
The records indicate that Khomeini’s contact with the US Government stretch back to 1963, when the then-exiled religious leader made contact with President Kennedy to inform him that “he was not opposed to American interests in Iran” and “expressed his belief in close cooperation between Islam and other world religions.”
The US has until now never formally admitted to being in contact with Khomeini prior to the revolution. The messages are in direct contradiction to the Iranian government’s official story that Khomeini had to fight a hostile American government at every step in order to return to the country in February of 1979 and effect the Islamic revolution. But they back up what has long been asserted by whistleblowers and sources from that time who were dismissed as cranks and provocateurs.
Tehran, for its part, has denounced the documents, calling them a “fabrication” and part of a “childish game” of manipulation to ease the stigma of American-Iranian relations in the Iranian public’s mind.
The Iranian government has some support for this position from an unlikely source: Gary Sick, a member of Carter’s National Security Council at the time of the revolution, who describes himself as “the point man in the White House dealing with Iran.” He wrote a recent blog post dissecting the BBC report and noting that the content of these documents has been known for decades and has been discussed in greater context by himself and others throughout that time. However, Sick does not dispute the central contention that Khomeini had engaged in conciliatory exchanges with the US prior to returning to Iran.
That these documents are only being declassified now should not come as a surprise. It took 56 years for a sitting US President to finally admit to the US’ part in the overthrow of Mossadegh (despite that fact having been revealed to the public nearly a decade earlier). If anything, the revelation that the US may have had a role in the rise to power of Khomeini is decades ahead of schedule.

Who knows what to believe with any MSM product emanating from their smoke and mirrors laboratories. It might be better to look at the actions of the players themselves as the ‘tell’. Obviously Kohmeini was allowed to return, but what were the ulterior motives behind this allowance? Strategy of tension and the production of yet another enemy for many a reason in a larger disinformation campaign to be used in a number of ways forwarding the interests of the banking cabal and their entourage of corporations and their political sycophants?
I wonder who designs the supposedly ethnic outfits the Middle Eastern leaders/US puppets wears e.g. Harmid Karzai, the Arab princes and Kings,
Moammar Khadaffi (his obviously did him no good, apparently) et al
I think the bigger story here is that the US has been and is still going about the world killing leaders like South Vietnam President during the Vietnam War,or directly causing Labor Union unrest in Venezuela, again, during the Kennedy Administration, or dismantling foreign governments when it suites US interesting for Corporate control of foreign resources, etc., or dismantling the social or political fabric of nations so that the plutocratic vultures can exploit resources. These plutocrats/vultures use the IMF, and other means, to stick their ugly heads into the dead carcass of those nations they have destroyed, gobbling up all they can. They do this in disregard for the innocent persons of those nations. As that psychopath Madeleine Albright said in an interview concerning Iraq that she thought it worth the 100,000 or so children killed and maimed for life. These are the ‘educated’ persons you have in authority puffing up their perverse ‘intellectual’ poison.
All the world’s a stage…and all the ordinary men and women merely pawns.
I recall reading a NY Times article four years ago reporting State Dept spokespersons were using conciliatory language on some overtures made by Iran and then the same spokespersons were quoted in Israel blasting the Iranian overtures with the invective of a fire and brimstone sermon. Strange that the NY Times admitted this example of geopolitical multiple personality disorder, but it did.
There was quite big mess in 70′ in Iran.

(as far as I know pretty accurate)
The country was leaning to the left. Even Cuban style revolution was possible.
For US anything is better then communists. I wouldn’t be surprised that they actively helped Khomeini and there are indications.
I was young, but aware when Khomeini came to power in the ’70… Of course, it was messy, and many got killed, but it was also one of the weirdest CIA regime changes ever…
We all heard of the first CIA regime change in Iran, which was 1953 Mosaddegh in Iran, which went very smooth, then the Shah came but he became crazy with power, and was rebelling, After which CIA organized for Khomeini to take over, thinking, we will always have our “MEN” in the background, and if Khomeini does not toe the line, we will have him changed in few weeks…
When Khomeini came to power, the first order of business was to close the spymaster house (AKA US Embassy), followed by beheading any Iranian Man with suspected links to western Power (lots of heads got chopped), and that way, Khomeini stayed in power, and played the smartest (and bloodiest) trick on US CIA.. They got him in power, and he turned the tables on them.
But off course Iranian’s being proud and religious people, they refuse to accept that their “Godly” leader was installed by CIA, but not necessarily working for them after he was installed.
(interesting fact….) Khomeini was in the crowds who chanted Mosaddegh out of office in ’53, which means he worked for CIA twice, but seems to have learnt how to work them the second time round.
Voice of Arabia,
I like seeing your comments.
Do you have a website?
Within the past 9 months, I have had a strong interest in Saudi Arabia, oil, the markets, and again now “The 28 Pages”.
I have been trying to learn more about Arabia.
Being an old guy from Texas, I just don’t know much about Arabia (except mainstream news bullshit).
I am collecting information.

Best, TomT
PS – I am trying to figure out more exactly the covert US agenda of the 28 pages. “Why Now?” Why now, again in the limelight?
Hello TomT,
Thanks for your kind comments, and I don’t have a website. I am just an old man who have seen too much, and worried about what is to come (on behalf of my family….)
Off course, to live in the third world, it is important not to disclose your opinions or thoughts publicly (sometimes to stay alive!) and hence I use a pseudonym and avoid the limelight…
But i will be happy to answer any questions you might have to help you with your fact finding.
with regards to the 28 pages.. it is very simple..
USA is like any “good” employer, they don’t have favorite employee, instead they “keep” the most productive employee, and if your stats fall for whatever reason, then it is time to change said employee…
To do this, you will have to keep the pressure on, especially on your allies to ensure they toe the line… after all, dissent is not accepted, and will lead to violent death… examples (Saddam Hussain, Col Kaddafi, Shah of Iran, Mubarak Egypt, Noriega of Panama (the last two still alive, kind a)… the list is very long…).
Qatar failed to execute regime change in Syria on behalf of USA, and as a result, there was change in leadership in Qatar (old employee got fired… but given some credits as he toppled Col Kaddafi)
Saudi and their Wahabi arm (ISIS) seems to be also failing to topple Syrian regime, and in this case, Saudi employee will get fired…)
I can almost hear OLD CIA agents saying… “gone the days when we can go in directly and execute smooth regime change without anyone noticing….. those were the days”…
Thanks VoiceOfArabia!
That is interesting about Qatar. I wasn’t aware.
With the regime change in Saudi Arabia and the ongoing internal power struggles (especially Wahabi trying to hold onto its influence), I am curious as to how some forces within the covert US intelligence and financial institutions might view this.
My email is Dallas911Truth at aol dot com
if you ever have some interesting information regarding Saudi Arabia and some of its Royalty, etc.
Also, I am curious about MEMRI.
They seem to translate many Arabic articles.
Do you speak and read Arabic?
MEMRI was started by ex-Israeli military people. So, I am suspicious.
See the comments here, especially the last one…

Hello TomT,
I speak Arabic and I remember reading that article, and it was mainly for local consumption (by local, i mean middle east).
It took me many years to understand the dynamics between countries like Saudi and USA, and I don’t think anyone can truly understand it, but today I understand the basic relationship, which helps me understand, and sometimes expect future moves.
OK.. It is as simple as this… Many middle eastern countries are tied to the USA in an employer/employee relationship (especially the ones with currency tied to the dollar), and regardless of what you hear or read, the relationship takes precedence on pain of death. Every ruler in the middle east remembers King Faisal of Saudi (executed by his own cousin for trying to flex his muscle against USA). So, simply put, they will always tow the line or be moved. There are groomed individuals to replace them behind the scene and they know it.
So, when it comes to USA… we have to understand (which is very hard if you don’t take the 35,000 feet view) that Saudi works for USA, just as Israel works for USA, and they both will continue to execute policies that helps the USA, even if it is False Flag attacks that hurts USA… This relationship is not to help USA people. this relationship is primarily in the interest of the Shadow Government that runs the USA today.
So, in short… ISIS (Da’aesh) will continue to exists for many years to come, as it is the ARM that executes on behalf of the USA foreign policies (and they get to sell arms and lose no solders.. Is that clever or what 🙂 ). Saudi will continue to exists as they are the operator of ISIS, middle east will continue to be divided into many flavors (Sunni, Shia’a, Kurds, etc), and the USA will also be divided into many sides (republicans, democrats, left, right, etc) and the world will continue to blame USA for all the world trouble, when truly, USA ceased to be “We the People” many many years ago.
Thanks VoiceOfArabia!
