All Your Data Are Belong to Them
It’s shocking, shocking, I tell you! Apparently, and I’m just learning this from some breaking news headlines so bear with me, but apparently Facebook has not been on the up and up when it comes to protecting its users’ privacy. Incredible, I know. I mean, these are still early reports so we’ll have to wait and see, but…
…OK. Enough sarcasm. But you probably have seen the headlines by now.
Facebook scans the photos and links you send on Messenger
and
Zuckerberg says most Facebook users should assume they have had their public info scraped
and
Australia launches investigation into Facebook over data scandal
and
Facebook Decides Now’s Not a Great Time to Harvest Patients’ Medical Data
And on and on and on. Yes, it seems even the normies are now finally aware of what we have known for years: Facebook is not so much a social media platform as it is a giant data vacuum sucking up your personal details for fun and profit (and social engineering and political control).
But rather than mocking the MSM addict who is just getting the news, why don’t we do something even more productive. Why don’t we inform him about the bigger picture? With facts to back it up, even!
Learn the facts about the Silicon Valley data swindle and stick around for a subscriber-only video about dreams in this action-packed edition of The Corbett Report Subscriber.

I really liked how those patriotic senators would just grill Data over something his company had done, and then immediately ask for fb’s help in drafting new legislation. Reminds me of how old Joe Kennedy worked on the SEC rules even though he was one of the nastiest players. JimBob who is always amazed at how stupidly insistent people are that regulations are supposed to make things fair for “the little guy”.
I didn’t know about the new “bell” feature on youtube which supposedly allows you to receive notifications about a channel you’re subscribed to…. isn’t the subscription supposed to do it???
That feature quit working right when they starting clamping down on Youboob. Personally, I think that whole youboob censorship thing is bunk anyway. Everybody whined about the ads, which were paying for the whole shebang. The companies said, hey, we don’t want to put these ads on these sites. Now, the same people who whined about the ads being there are whining about them not putting the ads there. Of course, the whole youboob political response is another matter. Private business, private matter. But a bad business model. Echo chambers never do well. JimBob who may have tripped and accidently filled a bowl on the way down just before writing this rambling nonsense.
On the Subscriber Video, it was kind of cool to see the little boy running in the background with others trailing after him.
I bet Corbett’s young son will have some great memories from this vacation.
Why is only facebook a target, and not Google and microsoft, who are also spying on users?
And why now? Because trump won? They can’t blame Russia hacking, they can’t blame russian trolls. So now they have to blame all social media?
It seems a part of a program to to attack all social media in general,
and to block all political opposition. There are now popping up laws to forbid “fake” news.
What about unwanted news, news that do not match the political agendas. A lot in the mainstream is fake news now, political, commercial and military propaganda.
Will opposing mainstream fake news soon become a crime? Or opposing fake science articles put out by big farma and other big companies, ensuring that our health is “safe”.
So many questions..
And why is the NSA/CIA never questioned on their operations?
Like manipulating elections in Europe and elsewhere.
Oh, yes I forgot. They are the ones that control the politicians.
I had been telling my coworkers about this very issue (psychographics) a day or two before the media decided it was time to shake things up. My big question is what is the real catalyst? Why now?
Because they have legislation pending and they want Data to help with the regulations. I think the first one is concerning ICE and illegal aliens. Because the roundups always start with the most undesirable ones in the public eye. JimBob who ain’t that desirable to statists his own damn self.
Just a curious note to add to the list of corporations snarfing up data.
A friend of mine is on satellite internet (Xplornet) with metered data usage.
Used a program called “Glasswire” to track down the offending program(s).
It turned out that “Avast Free Anti-Virus” software was uploading gigabytes of data to their servers. Avast changed their user policy, giving themselves permission to collect *everything* off the hard drive.
Free software anyone?
!
There is not free launch. Even though, to cut these guys a little break, the program may have malfunctioned since these “free” AV solutions are usually not well coded. Payed ones aren’t that great either, “free” ones are usually ghastly.
Never used any of that crap, never will and I don’t recommend anyone to use any of it.
Have a good break James.
I’m sure The Rockefeller Horror Show will continue to play while you are away…but we will survive (perhaps!)
I just love these little truth bombs, as seen on Dore’s channel.
Bombshell: Professor Stuns MSNBC Panel On Syria
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_O2TRzA2ezk
Ok! Now I get the title! cool.
I mean, I get the title of Mr Corbett’s article.
but I don’t think any professor stunned the MSNBC Panel on Syria though….
uh, just for the record…
Thank you, James, for supplying the Just for Fun link!
Unraveling the mysteries of good song composition is a cathartic reprieve for the ladened conspiracy theorists that we are! 🙂
You beat me to it! I logged in specifically to thank James for that fun diversion. I imagine the man will get a ton of requests. Where to begin?
Most give up their privacy/data freely.
…looking to blame someone for the shit show America?
Look no further than the mirror.
